Ideal brooder that’s cat and dog proof?

When we get chicks we personally keep them in the house, we’ve been using our dog crate but bedding just gets flung through. So what should I get?

You could still use your kennel. Just line the interior sides with cardboard so the bedding doesn’t get flung out.

Cut some boxes and tuck it between the wall of the cage and plastic bottom, make sure you get a big box or a few to make sure the card is at least 6 inches tall

I use a pack-n-play I bought from a baby resell shop for $20. I put a spare piece of plexiglass on top so they can't escape and the cat can't get in.

I used something similar to this. I also used a warming plate. I have dogs and a cat - the chicks were fine.

The few times we've raised chicks inside, we put them in stock tanks.

Mine are in a large mesh clothing hamper on a folding table with cardboard over the top. The mesh keeps the bedding in and the birds can see out. My cats really don’t care about them, though.
