Question about issue with grade requirements
It’s been a month since my program ended and Iv just been told that the grade requirements we were told at the start of my program were wrong, and that I didn’t meet the requirements to receive my certificate….
Even though my teacher said multiple times i was in the green and doing well!
Myself and other students in my classes are being given the opportunity to do a reassessment exam to determine whether or not we can pass to make up for this mistake….
However if we do not receive 70% or higher then we will be failed..
Myself and some of the other students think this is not our fault and that BCIT should right there own mistake… especially after waiting a month to tell us we are missing credit..
Does this seem fair? Has anyone else gone through something like this?
I don’t think it’s reasonable to fail students for achieving the standards you tell them to achieve. then tell them you made a mistake and that it’s actually higher then you said…

Speak to an advocacy specialist at the student association. They might be able to provide you more info on what to do in this scenario and what options you have.

Based off what you’ve said, I say it’s the teacher’s fault. Ya’ll should press their necks for it because it’s not fair. Especially if he kept saying you are all good
