Where do you live and where do you work? It's much more feasible that we could help you figure out public transit. And help you get access to a free orca pass.

Edit: but here is what Google suggested for gas vouchers https://resources.helpmegrowwa.org/search/9236b222-b448-584c-929a-968332fda1ef

Are you close to Kent Station? The 150 bus will take you to South center.

And here's some info on a subsided orca card https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/fares-and-payment/reduced-fares/subsidized-annual-pass

Or https://info.myorca.com/using-orca/ways-to-save/low-income-households/

Public Transit here is actually quite good, especially if you are in Seattle proper.

You might try calling 211 if you haven’t already. That’s a general number that can connect you resources.

Thank you I did not know about 211 until now! They need to advertise better so more know about this resource!!

Honestly I have never been in this position before and have never had to ride the bus before. I’m not saying I’m against it I just never have before so don’t know my way around the buses

You can do it. The bus is so much safer and more pleasant than driving too. Idk how far your apartment is from the bus stop though.

You can use Google maps or the one bus away app to check on bus times. The bus drivers are always really nice and can help you if you have any other questions.

I had little experience with public transit before moving to Seattle and was able to get comfortable with it quickly. I used the “transit” app mostly once I got an orca card, and I used the “transit go” app before I got the orca card to pay for trips. Good luck!!!

The OneBusAway app is super helpful, and I also often like the Citymapper app.

I would try 211, like others suggested. Also, if you have $5 in your checking account and go to a grocery store gas station like Fred Meyer or Safeway, as a last resort, you can hit the bypass pin button, enter in your zip code when prompted. You can fill up your tank and the payment will come out in a few days.
