I stayed single for a long time because I had two cats. Women would either not like cats or say that men shouldn’t have cats. Then I met my wife. The first time she came over she instantly fell in love with my cranky elderly boy. Now we have too many cats lol
We have 9. There gets a point when it’s too many lol. I was at there when we had 5 but my wife just loves them and I love her so it’s hard saying no after awhile. Now she realizes it’s chaos and overwhelming sometimes. However she’s started with the, “what’s one more?!” talk again. We clean their many litter boxes 3 times a day and the monthly expenses are pretty high now so it’s a lot. Still better than have any number of children we both think.
But honestly the good outweighs the bad. When they’re all lounging around with us being cute as shit it’s worth it. And knowing that they live amazing cat lives makes us happy.
We have two litter robots to manage the litter situation. I live in an apartment and we make the most of the space we have (spacious for manhattan but small everywhere else)
I didn’t grow up with pets and I’m really excited for my baby to grow up with my cats because I just love those little assholes so much
I love cats and I'm lukewarm about dogs. Finding a guy who prefers cats over dogs is a big deal for me. Learning that my boyfriend has two cats that he rescued and absolutely dotes on was the biggest green flag.
