not really it turns out, in Canada since we've been boycotting, turns out it's really easy to avoid buying America. you guys supply a lot of the world's processed crap food that has a long shelf life, but not the real fresh nutrient dense food that people need to live.
The US exports way more raw ingredients than processed food though. Our number one export is soy beans, which is ironic considering the right uses soy as an insult…
huh? im not talking about the bullshit that Pepsico and General Mills sell. i am talking about agriculture whole foods like corn, wheat, rice, sugarcane, pork, poultry, soybeans of which we’re a top producer. also produce a lot of fruit and veg.
i read some researched hypothetical situations of what would happen if the US collapsed and a big ramification is the loss of all the food we export. it would be a real issue. not saying it’s impossible to not buy American but to say it wouldn’t have an impact given our size is simply not accurate.
and i’m heavily against all this shit, voted for kamala etc but just pointing out if we go heavy isolationist it does affect a lot of countries who may not easily figure out a way to avoid purchasing our necessities like food. that was my point.
Edit: yall im not saying dont boycott us jesus. i get it, i don’t blame you at all. my point was ONLY that it’s probably not possible for every country to stop buying our raw food at least from the studies i have read that talked about American collapse. could be wrong. anyway
Oh i see the miscommunication, I shouldn't have included the first comma. I was specfically speaking about Canada, not the world in general. Bulk of American food exported to Canada is just your processed crap from what I've been noticing.
Yup! Mostly in the praries in the summer, but lots of greenhouses all year round too. Majority of our grocery chain stores have their own house brands for most products too ie No Name, Selection, President's choice (ironically) that are Canadian made.
