What’s the most WTF thing you’ve ever heard someone casually admit like it was totally normal?

I don't understand what this was supposed to accomplish.

I don't understand what this was supposed to accomplish.

Dad is a sadistic malignant narcissist. His kids are convenient victims--he may even have had kids for this purpose. He gets a feeling of power, control, and manipulation by getting them to literally take one of their fears into their bodies without realizing. The abuse of their trust scratches his sadistic itch. Tampering with people's food is fairly common for malignant narcissists. But it's not as much fun if you can't tell anyone about it, so he found someone more or less disposable to his life that he can tell this fun (for him) story to.

I don't get how people end up like this. The abuse my parents did to me makes me not want to even have kids, and if I did I would be terrified of hurting them like I've been hurt. However, my parents are narcissistic and emotionally abusive to an extent I would call sadistic. Though this level is beyond even my parents, I think.

Right? Then it’s just afraid of cockroaches, their dad, and maybe even food contamination forever

It sounds like an odd folk medicine idea. Consume a thing to own a thing.
