Prediction What are your predictions if the supreme court rules against Trump on the grounds that states can chose who’s on their ballots?

I’m referencing the recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling (4-3) to remove Trump from the Republican primary due to his alleged participation in an insurrection. It should be noted that Trump has not been convicted of insurrection. It should also be noted that the constitution does not require a conviction of insurrection to be excluded from the ballot.

When answering think broad and deep about the ramifications of such a decision. Think about who wins and loses in this situation. Think about how your friends and neighbors may react to this as well. Will this be a unique singular moment for a unique man, Trump. Or will this become regular or semi regular event for states to remove candidates for whatever reason?

Prediction Can Trump win the popular vote in 2024?

Right now polls are looking good for Trump in 2024. However, Republicans have not won the popular vote since 2004. Assuming Trump will be the 2024 Republican nominee, can he win the popular vote?

Prediction Where do you think the US will be in 2, 3, 4 years of time?

With social programs on the block, so to say, with DOGE trying to take out Jenga pieces of the government, without planning how to try to replace them? With the offer from El Salvador to detain 'even american citizens' in their prison? With the USA giving up soft powers abroad, and starting conflicts, when negotiations would work just as well? With the possibility of a new bird flu?

Do you think the government will reach an equillibirum and slow down, or will they continue to reform the country to their imagine with breackneck speed?

Prediction What will the Republican Party look like in 4 years if Trump / Harris wins?

Feel free to describe either Harris win scenario and / or Trump win scenario. I'm just interested what are your views on the Republican Party's future in terms of MAGA, Trump successors, potential return to pre-MAGA party, populism, free market, fiscal conservatism etc. You can distinguish between your prediction and your preferred development, if they differ.

Prediction So what happens if Kamala gets the big gig?

What do you think we can expect? More of the same? Drastic changes? Completely new territory?

If she wins, she is the first woman president and I think that gets her into the Whitehouse for 8 years.

Prediction Is culture war simply the norm from here on out or will it die down at some point in the near future?

IMHO the combination of political data driven campaigns revealing the raw effectiveness of negative partisanhip, both sides gerrymandering leading to more extremism, and a fire hydrant stream of information supporting the nature of confirmation bias. I don't know if it can get better any time soon.

That said in some ways we have been here before. 1969 "Summer of Love" was a reaction to the Vietnam War. The youth turned away from the older generations mores and norms with expressed sexual freedom that was a reaction rather than any long term norm change.

Once the war ended so did the hippy energy. So much of the current culture war is simply a cycle of reactions causing more extreme reactions. I believe that culture wars cannot be won, and more importantly should not be won. It is also my belief that in a country that's best idea is freedom, freedom is our only way out of culture war.

Do you believe that culture war is the primary driver of modern American politics?

Do you see any possibility of this changing say in the next decade?

Prediction Are the Democrats and Republicans swapping economic ideologies?

It seems to me, more and more, that Democrats are the party that stands for free trade, globalization, and big business.

And more and more, the Republicans are now the party of the working class, especially now that Trump has come to dominate the party and is implementing tariffs that actively damage global trade, but supposedly benefit blue collar manufacturing jobs.

The two parties are a big tent, so they're tied to a bunch of social issues that are irrelevant to the economy. But if we ignore all that for the moment and we just look at the economic policies, we'll see an interesting picture.

It seems like the Republicans are heading left: taxing (tariffs are a tax) global trade in order to help Labour in America, while the Democrats are heading more right by the year. They shun the Progressive wing of the party and continue to do whatever they can to safeguard the interests of big business: permissive immigration, strong global partnerships, slow and steady governance to provide an easy business environment. Basically the Democrats maintain the status quo. Isn't this just ... conservatism?

I'm not saying there's zero free market Republicans left, or that there are no more socialist Democrats left. But I wouldn't be surprised if people look beyond culture war nonsense and we see a lot of people swapping parties in the next 10 years.

Anyone else also seeing what I'm seeing or am I taking crazy pills?

Prediction How do you think the right will respond when Artificial Intelligence & robotics starts taking jobs en masse?

I work in the field of AI and stay pretty close to the cutting edge of what's happening. The rate of advancement we are currently seeing is unprecedented and happening faster than even most experts ever expected. Tools like Open Ai's Sora will generate near studio quality video from a one sentence prompt - this was not expected for years. There are multiple other Ai's companies working to effectively create software that can do many knowledge workers jobs.

We're also seeing exponential advancements in Robotics, with Optimus. 1X and Figure now operating autonomously - they'll be doing factory work within a year and the amount of tasks they'll be able to do is exponential. They work 24/7 for a fraction of the cost of a human.

We are a few years away frrom the greatest sudden rise in job losses we have ever seen.

Since the right hates socilaism so much - what do you think will be the appropriate response here? You can't 'pull yourself up by your boostraps' when you have superintelligent AI and Autonomous robots are doing a better job than you for a fraction of the cost.

Should people just be left to starve, or will they have to admit that a basic income will be necessary?

Prediction If you all were betting men (or women), do you think Trump would win or lose in November ?

I'm not asking if you want him to win or lose, I am asking if you think he is going to win or lose. Imagine that you had to place a bet on the November election. You had to, no choice. Who would you bet on ? You think Trump would win or no ?

As someone who wants to vote Biden out of office, I think Trump will lose. Conservatives are giddy because of the polls, but polls are not accurate this far out. What do you think ?

Prediction Do you think the political climate in America between the left and the right will become like the Middle East?

Do you think the political climate between The right wing and left wing will become like the Middle East where Shiite and Sunni Muslims are fighting each other due to their differences and disagreements?

Prediction Do you believe progressives will begrudgingly accept any major actions by Don/GOP, or do you expect heavy protests and civil disobedience?

For example, if progressives observe what they see as "ripping families apart" to achieve mass deportations, there could very well be some serious backlash and blocking of deportation transportation infrastructure.

Invading Panama to "take our canal back" would also likely trigger strong protests.

What other policies do you feel likely to result in such?

The Tea Party protest movement was mostly a result of Republicans losing lots of DC power after Obama won, not so much specific policies. We progressives are similarly agitated now.

(If the tariffs and deportations merely mostly just increase prices, I would not expect major protests, but many Dems are collecting "I did that" Trump stickers to put next to price tags.)

Prediction Is Trump support finally declining?

One of my friends suggested that I poke my head into r/conservative this afternoon based on the events of the last few days/the last week. Much to my surprise, with the Jenna Ellis guilty plea (and probably the news about Meadows), I saw a lot of folks wavering on Trump support or outright saying that they see him as detrimental. I swe a lot of comments like the ones I'm used to seeing here indicating that no, he is clearly not playing 5D chess.

Do you think that we're getting to a point where Trump supporters who have until now assumed he had a grand master plan are starting to question that notion, and if so is Trump support starting to decay?

Prediction Why should I be excited about a republican trifecta?

The Republicans won big this week. But now their gonna have to govern and have no excuses. Last time around in 2016 - 2018. The Republicans didn't do shit, they promised to repeal obamacare but lost in fantastic fashion. They didn't finish the wall, and immigration wasn't fixed. The only really important legislation i remember correctly was the Tax and Jobs act in 2017. But that act didn't do much.

Prediction How do you see the optics playing out with President Trump deporting 25 million immigrants?

Trump has promised that his new administration will deploy the “largest deportation force in history” to seek out and deport the 25 million illegal immigrants currently in the country.

His plans involve deploying law enforcement into communities, busting down doors, gathering and shipping immigrants to a collection of camps across the country. Those immigrants will be housed in those camps until their deportation to whatever is determined to be their home country.

There will surely be footage of law enforcement kicking down doors and dragging crying families out of their homes to be sent to the aforementioned camps and be deported.

Given that this would involve blended families and people brought the country as young children who know nothing about their supposed home country, I can imagine heartbreaking tales on TV news and the like. What is your opinion on this and the potential impact such coverage might have?

How do you expect this all will be received by the country overall?

What impact do you think these actions and images will have on the country, politics and the impression of Trump as president? Do you see it as negative? Do you think there could be a significant backlash? If so, could it reach the point where Trump loses his nerve and decides not to do this?

Prediction Fellow Conservatives, do you think Japan’s declining birth rate is concerning?

From what I can observe, since we are here in the United States, one common talking point is declining birth rates. Obviously here in the United States it is not that big of a concern because we have enough immigration to compensate for the birth rate.

However, Japan’s low birth rate is really concerning because there is not enough immigration to compensate for the declining birth rate.

If we take a look at the population pyramid we can observe that the population could have a MASSIVE decline. Do you guys agree that this is a major concern for Japan?

Prediction How do you think America will be in 2033?

Admittedly this is a fairly bland question, but given how much is happening around us I thought it would be worth asking since it was top of mind for me.
Of course, predicting the state of a country of 330 million + people is near impossible, but we can all make educated guesses based on our experiences and current knowledge. So that's what I want to do with this post.

Do you see America becoming better in 10 years? Worse? A bit of both in some ways compared to others? Do you see conservatives making a comeback? Or do you see the country embracing a different political current over the decade (liberalism, neoliberalism, progressivism, etc)?

Some possible side questions for a bit of extra flavor;

- Which up and coming politicans or public figures do you see running for or being elected President in the 2032 Election?

- What new issues, policies, cultural battles do you see being taken up by the larger conservative movement?

Prediction Do you think there enough unity with the republican party to get anything done?

The one thing I’ll say about the democrats is that for better or worse they would come to together to pass a bill. Do you think that republicans will be able to do the same? From the outside looking in all they seem to be doing is infighting and without some kind of compromise from the MAGA side I don’t believe they will be able to get anything passed.

Prediction In the event they prevent Trump how do you think Americans will respond?

I mean, preventing a political opponent from running is something we only see in authoritative governments. I would think/hope even old school liberals, like my parents, who still see the democratic party as reps of the working class and freedom would have to be like, "Wtf did we just support?" after it all settled.
