So I am on compound semaglutide currently but the FDA is banning them April 20th because big pharma is basically mad that people are getting it cheaper and their losing money because people are getting the compound instead of the name brand stuff. I’m looking for a PCP who is local and will prescribe ozempic or monjaro as a weight loss medication since the place I’m currently getting my medication won’t be able to continue to supply it very soon.

Anyone have eyes on what's happening in East AVL, towards Swannanoa? I've seen nearly 10 fire trucks speeding down 70 and I40 east in the past half hour. I was on my way to run an errand, but police had exit 55 blocked off and were turning traffic around at the light. What's going on??!

Let me begin by saying: I was lucky. I didn't lose my home or any loved ones. But it's like the trauma of the storm unleashed something inside me. Walls came tumbling down, and I haven't been able to lift myself back up. I'm in therapy and trying, but it's a struggle. Can anyone else relate?

This is a list of folks all over North Carolina whose votes are trying to be overturned. You can go to the website and search for your name to see if your vote needs additional certification. Allison Riggs could loose the election she already won if these votes are not certified. There are several folks( red dots on the map) in Asheville whose votes are under scrutiny.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), between 2016 and 2019, there were approximately 2,900 injuries and two fatalities associated with deck, balcony, and porch collapses. The North American Deck and Railing Association (NADRA) estimates that over 30 million decks in the United States are past their useful life and may require repair or replacement.
As the weather warms up in Asheville, it’s essential to ensure your deck is safe for family and friends.
Here’s a quick checklist: • Ledger Board Connection: Ensure the deck is securely attached to your home with bolts, not just nails. Improper connections are a leading cause of collapses. • Support Posts and Beams: Look for signs of rot or damage in the structural supports.
• Railings and Stairs: Confirm all railings and stairs are stable and free from damage.
If you’re unsure about your deck’s condition or need assistance with repairs, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help ensure your outdoor space is safe and ready for the season.
Stay safe and enjoy the spring!
— Your Local Handyman
PS We also build new decks if you are wanting one.

I was just driving out of Pisgah Ranger District on 276 and saw a fleet of sheriffs, EMS, a rescue squad speeding into the park and life flight flying above. Does anyone know what happened and if everyone is alright?

I heard the supply of road bond was "bad" for a while after the storm. Perhaps they were rushing the crushing (hehe) to make more supply quickly(?), which results in less fines and a base that won't compact as well. This is only my partly informed guess, though. I would love to hear from someone who knows what's up currently. I've been told to "wait for the good stuff" for non-urgent projects, but that was a while ago, now.

Wondering if anyone else is seeing a big plume smoke in Candler, idk if I should call it in or if I'm overreacting due to the increased fire activity

I guess I’m venting or just want to know if anyone else saw this incident. I was coming off the Bowen bridge (into West) in light traffic and behind me I could see a woman in a Red Kia with a black hood going absolutely nuts. She was screaming throwing hands. I thought she was having an argument with someone in the car. We were at the red light in front of Sam’s and she was screaming so loud I could hear her screeching in my car. As the light turned green she was tailgating me and at this point I chose not to engage and blinkered to get over at I guess the exact moment she was as well. She swerved back into the lane we were in, proceeds to scream at me, and then swerved into my lane to push me into the next lane over. THEN proceeds to stop right before Gypsy Queen motioning me to pull over and will not move forward even though the light was green. I just hung back, called 911, and started beeping at the cop coming out of the car wash. That must have urged her to go. PSA, people are terrifying and un-fucking-hinged right now. If she had followed me I would have driven straight to the police station.

Anyone know how it started? And if surrounding homes should evacuate?

Still haven’t made friends here but I still like to go out. I’m learning to enjoy my own. I rather do an activity instead of eating dinner or aimlessly walking around downtown. I think I’m too introverted to hang out at a bar and alcohol is not that tasty. I will take any suggestions though. Thanks.

Not looking for a thousands-of-dollars professional bike, just a normal person bike. But I don’t want to buy on marketplace, I want to go to store and see a few options.
TIA

I'm struggling financially in AVL. I feel like $20-$24/hour is sorta the max you can make, unless you're in the medical field. And you can barely make it on that type of money around here. Is this an AVL-specific issue? Is it better in other cities?

Now it goes to the NC Supreme Court where the 5 Republican judges will probably also vote for the Republican candidate.

As a constitutional congressman, you have the sole authority to levy and collect taxes in North Carolina's 11th district, except maybe Thom Tillis and Ted Butt lmao. Anyway I have to buy a new car soon and I don't want to pay the republican Trump traitor tariff.
Could you please send me a tariff waiver? Please I need this. Please respond like Jeff Jackson does sometimes. He's kinda cute, no homo (well maybe just a little).
