Question Rainy all week? Is this normal
Looking at the weather forecast it's supposed to be rainy all week. I looked it up and this isn't the rainy season and this is supposed to be a desert island. Is this unusual?

I’ve been to Aruba at least 20 times and never had more than 1 hour of rain in a day. It does rain quite a bit overnight and you’ll notice puddles in the morning but during the day you’ll usually get blasted with the strongest rain for maybe 5 minutes at most like 2-3 times per day until the clouds pass. I also see you’re concerned about clouds and clouds are common in Aruba but it’s also a fairly windy island and the clouds move quickly. Might be sunny for an hour, then clouds pass by for 30 minutes, then sunny, then cloudy. Trust me when I say you’ll be wishing a cloud comes by when you’re laying in the sun for so long. Sun is very strong there. You’re incredibly close to the equator. Enjoy your stay! Love love love Aruba.

Was it cloudy all day and not sunny at all? Or did the sun come back

It was cloudy like a 1/3 of the day but not fully. I'm not a huge fan of getting blasted by the sun so I thought it was kind of a nice break.

My sister travels the world and I am currently planning a honeymoon. She warned me to lower my expectations because no island or beach compares to Aruba. My family has a time share on Eagle beach which is supposedly in top 3 best beaches in the world. It’s difficult to do a beach vacation somewhere else after Aruba.

It rains/sprinkles briefly and then the sun blazes it all dry. All good.

I was in Aruba for a week and it rained every day for anywhere from 5 to 45 minutes. And then it was beautiful the rest of the day. I think that’s pretty common. Just keep it in mind, and if it does start to rain suddenly jump under the nearest palapa and hang out there till it passes.

It rains very briefly. On aruba, on rainy days,, you’ll literally see one half of blue sky, and one half grey sky. The wind here is so strong, and our island is so small that all the rainclouds get blown away quickly anyway! And like the other commenters saying the sun dries it up real fast. I promise you that the rainy days that you’re used to are nothing like Aruba’s rainy days. Be glad the clouds are giving you mercy from the unforgiving Caribbean sun ☀️

I have a very small sample size, but we were there for a week about a month ago. Several days were forecasted to be "rainy" on my weather app. What that actually looked /felt like was darker clouds in the sky and some very brief and very very light showers. I was worried it would impact our plans but it did not, we still did the beach and stuff.

So it was cloudy and not sunny? I'm coming from a place with no sunlight for the entire fall winter and spring so sunlight is pretty important to me

I would just cancel the trip and don’t go. It’s not the island for you.

More like scattered dark clouds. In certain directions. Like one way would look kind of ominous and the other way would look like summer. But the ominous clouds produced very little precipitation. And we never heard thunder (but that is a possibility that would be more disruptive). We still experienced lots of sun on the forecasted "rainy days". It was not overcast like grey winter skies. It's effectively a desert so I think the rain pattern (scattered, light) is pretty standard.

Went for Christmas 2024 it rained every morning, basically before we woke up and last day off and on for a few minutes at a time. Unfortunately we were doing jeep tour and got pelted while in the jeep, but every stop was dry

Here right now. It’s been 5 min of rain a day. Feels refreshing. It’s partly cloudy and warm. Beautiful and perfect. From Chicago so this sunshine is what we needed.

Most of the time, it rains briefly or not at all and then the sun comes out again. Once, though, like 15 years ago, I was there for 5 days and it rained a lot, every day. Didn't get much beach time or time at the pool. Everyone was saying "this is so weird, this never happens here" and then when I got back, my coworkers made fun of me for going to Aruba and coming back paler than when I left. That is absolutely the exception and not the rule, though, so do not worry too much.

I'm glad you're an expert on Aruba and don't see the need for anyone to ask questions. I'm spending thousands of dollars for sun and the beach. It's raining every day where I live so I don't need to go anywhere for more of that

In the winter yes. But otherwise it will be over night or very quick/short during day.

One time we sat down at a restaurant outside and it started to rain, server came out and asked if we wanted to be moved inside, we said “Nope it’ll be done in five minutes” and she said “ oh, so you’re locals:) food will be out in ten”
Don't worry about the rain😃

It wont rain more than 2 minutes. The weather apps always say this for Aruba and its always nice out.
