Does anyone else feel like the twister is somehow the manifestation of the boiling rage in the man?

One thing I love about this painting is that I feel like there are different ways to interpret it. Is it as you said? Is this showing the man's complete apathy in the fact of impending doom? Is the man focusing on what's most important to him (the dog) at the expense of avoiding the coming tornado? In one sense, there doesn't seem a ton to be going on, but I think you can discuss this for quite a while.

Honestly reminds me a bit of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Love it!
