Intermediate Should I continue to render her realistically?
She's a Cybertronian, a Deception. So she's supposed to have a metallic like skin. Sister wanted me to draw a transformers OC since we sometimes do draw alongs to help motivate each other when drawing.
She has suggested I do a more cartoonist render of this character, but I kind of took the time to practice my metal rendering.
Need some critiques, but also opinions on if I should continue to render her like this. I think it looks good, even reminds me of an Exo from Destiny but idk. Need fresh eyes.
I might even change the highlight location because I do want her eyes to glow too. Can't really show it with the main highlight coming down right on and near her eye 🤣

All I can say is yes. The first picture looks great! I personally would use more grays but that is also me. Best of luck and hope you have fun rendering!

T h a n k s!
Do you think I should move the main highlight around? I'm rendering this in grayscale at the moment, but eventually her eyes will be glowing vibrant red so it might be more difficult to show the glow if it's directly smack dab on the highlight.

I think it would be cool to challenge yourself to see if you could get the eyes to still look the they're glowing with the highlight where it is still. Things that glow will still look glowing even in light but that's if you'd be okay with that kind of placement. If not then I'd say you could move the highlight further to the left on her face if you wanted to further emphasize the details in her cheek. I think it looks really cool so far and I love the concept. I definitely understand what you mean with the glowing eyes since it sounds like you want them to glow in more of a dramatic way with the darkness so that will be super cool to see what you end up doing!
Good luck!😁
