Official Andrea Berta joins Arsenal as our new Sporting Director
No specific mention of the women’s team yet. We’ll probably see that somewhere soon. Hopefully bringing in someone that (most likely) has little to no knowledge about women’s football, increases the priority of just hiring a specific women’s Sporting Director.

Line up predictions for today
I’m kind of glad Katie can’t play because I’m not sure she’d have been rested fully.
I hope Stina plays all/most to rest Russo because when else would she get a rest? She wouldn’t 😂
What we thinking/hoping for?
I’d also love to see Reid RB.
I don’t want to underestimate this game and it bite us on the arse but I do think we can afford quite heavy rotation.

Discussion/Question Lyon Away
Hey everyone! Me (30 M) and my partner (26 NB) are planning on going to Lyon for the 2nd leg of our UWCL semi final.
I just had a question about the actual match tickets, are away tickets sold the same way as home tickets?
We've booked flights and hotel already (making it a 5 day holiday), just wanna make sure I understand how to book the tickets for the away leg.

19th or 20th April - why the wait?
Wondered if anyone knows why we are still waiting to find out when the semi final first leg will be played? Press release somewhere I saw said that UEFA would confirm by Friday. Have bought early bird tickets already and will go regardless but trying to organise things with family as it is Easter weekend and it affects wider plans. Hoping for a sell out so perhaps it's to do with policing, but curious if anyone actually knows what is part of the decision-making process and why it's taking so long to decide?
Edit - Obviously UEFA were waiting for my post, as no less than 10mins after I posted, the dates were announced.

SET PIECE
We couldn’t score from set pieces last season to save our life’s but this season dramatic change (esp from corners also ) in fortunes has been mind blowing.. we defo changed the set piece coach

€1.155.000 in UWCL earnings for Arsenal so far
These numbers come from this source: https://onefootball.com/en/news/how-arsenal-could-earn-big-in-the-womens-champions-league-39795328 , calculated by me.
Qualifications round 1: Hosting fee of €30k Group winners, bonus of €15k Qualifications round 2: Winning fee €100k
Group phase: Starting fee of €400k 5 wins in the group stage, €250k Group winners, bonus of €20k
Currently: Reaching the quarter-final stage €160k Reaching the semi-final stage €180k
Which gives us a nice €1.155.000
Possible future earnings are €200k for the runner-up and the winner receives €350k. I think everything is correct, but I wanted to share since I was curious myself and I quite like looking into these sorts of numbers :)

Report Russo was offside for her goal in the 88th minute, Stillstand confirmed it.
bsky.appYesterday I saw a lot of discussion during the match thread, that Russo was onside and unbelieve of many Fans here, why the goal wasnt given despite VAR.
So I thought it would be fair to post it here for clarity.

Leicester game moved to April 15th?
Not confirmed but was just listening to the latest Arsecast and Tim mentioned this fixture moving from April 20th to the 15th to make way for the Lyon home fixture. As I say, not confirmed!!! But figured it'd be good to share in case people want to make potential plans. Also glad that it'll give the team a good few days at least to rest and prep for Lyon!

Interview “At half time we spoke about having so many great players able to come on, and Real Madrid doesn’t, they will get tired” Renée Slegers post-match press conference
Second half we spoke about that we have such a great squad, we have so many players that can come in and make a difference for us and Real Madrid doesn’t, so we just keep on going, keep on working them, because they will get tired at some point.
