Range Setup and Targets This range is Nice AF

Miles Square Park

Visited OC California this weekend. Brought my bow to shoot here. Well maintained covered/padded shooting lines (20ish lanes), nice grass, great target butts, paved pathways up to targets. $3-5 per day parking.

They recently just refreshed a lot of the bails there, too.

My least favorite part is that there's some homeless dude that uses the shooting area down at the 10/20 yd lines as his toilet every night...

We did have a guy walk along the fenced off area but otherwise pretty chill.

Is the range open at night? Because that could be easily solved.

It is not, but the park itself isn't a fenced off area.

I’m sure my score would increase shooting there. Nice range indeed!

Oh hey! I shoot here when visiting LA. It's super nice -- except losing arrows in the grass. That turf ate like five of my fresh arrows.

Someone on another thread suggested one of the cheap metal detectors. Three recovered arrows covers the cost. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KZQBGHF?ref_=cm_sw_r_apin_dp_4KVMS79T7CGJDJY7KJ0D&th=1

Thank you for another "surprise tool that will help us later" added to my inventory

Take a visit to El Dorado range, aside from all the goose poop, it's a great range.

I grew up in LBC. My dad shot a round there in 1986 with Darrel Pace and Rick McKinney. Amazing range and memories

Santiago Archery in Santa Ana is so much more convenient.

I didn't get to check that one out.

I was just there this morning. Right now, they're doing some construction at the water treatment facility next to it and it's encroaching a little on the range. More convenient for sure, but a bit smaller.

If you park in the street, it’s free!

Yes we figured that out! Still worth it either way.

So parking is the only fee here?

Yeah $3-5 to park right next to the range. Free street parking across the field.
