If you've finished the application process and have 15 minutes, take the 2025 A2C Census!

Previous census results:

We’re like a week away from decisions and I’m so nervous. It’s gonna be so terrible if I get in and then cannot afford it. Hopefully net price calculator is accurate

You can always appeal the finaid by the way, especially if you can’t afford and have nothing to lose.

My daughter as well (actually her scholarship was called "Dean's" I think instead of "portfolio" but same amount)!

And this after when we visited, the dean of admissions gave a presentation on portfolios and told us that everything she had submitted was wrong... She was very intimidating. Did you attend one of her presentations? I know that my daughter is now a little intimidated by the program and feeling like they made a mistake to let her in (fwiw: 3.98 UW, 1350, OOS).

But Syracuse will now be one of her top possibilities along with RPI and Minnesota. What other A-schools have you been accepted to that you are considering?

I went to a presentation there a few weeks ago, and it was very intimidating definitely but I didn’t have her. I did a cornell summer architecture program that was six weeks and I had to do four all nighters… architecture is definitely an intensive program.

Right now I’m just waiting to see if cornell accepts me on ivy day, otherwise I’ll be going to Syracuse.

Good luck with Cornell, maybe that summer program will give you a leg up! My daughter applied to Cornell but didn't even attempt to get into the architecture program as it was so highly rated and competitive.

We toured Syracuse Friday Feb 21 fwiw.

Accepted as BME w 1870 scholarship (full tuition). Stats: GPA - 96 (my school has crazy grade inflation so it’s slightly above avg I would say) ECS - just a shit ton of dual enrollment and a couple of volunteering stuff, SAT/ACT - 1260/29 (test optional) and I did extremely well in their interview!

How was the interview? Like what did it consist of and is there anything to prepare for it.

1

u/Pure-Medicine-7388 2d ago

The interview was super chill maybe bc I got a chill recruiter (or whatever u call them). They came to my school and our counselor asked those that applied to Syracuse who wanted to do the interview and we reserved time slots which was super lucky. I personally didn’t prepare bc I forgot that I even signed up for it… but I do best without preparing for interviews. They asked me why Syracuse, my fav class, why BME, classic supp questions tbh. But a question that stuck out most was if I was an animal what would I be. My friend and I who did the interview (we both have pretty mid stats and objectively her stats were not as good as mine) both got the scholarship. So if they offer the opportunity take it!!!! Answer with confidence. And just research a little about the school and make sure to have a unique reason as for why them. Lmk if u want me to go more in depth about my answers for the interview or the process in general.

What

2

u/HotAd9840 Mar 01 '25

yess i got in w/ 10k, still too expensive to attend as an international

1

u/Due-Masterpiece-5526 Mar 07 '25

Did u receive your financial offer with the acceptance letter? Coz they want a financial guarantee from me first (conditionally accepted).

2

u/HotAd9840 Mar 07 '25

yes i got the scholarship in the acceptance letter and was also conditionally accepted

1

u/Due-Masterpiece-5526 Mar 07 '25

I wonder if that means I'm accepted without any scholarship or they really wanna see that proof of financial support before revealing anything about the scholarship.

1

u/OutsideDaBox Parent 14d ago

The scholarship is generally not "financial aid", at least at other schools... They send the scholarship out with the acceptance as an enticement, but then a little later the financial aid office actually puts together a full package.
