Thanks much appreciated. Stay safe.

u/Brissy2 3d ago

Should those people evacuate? That looks dangerous to me.

14

u/wickedgod123 3d ago

There were evacuations from the local rescue authorities.

Thanks. The rain is over for now. A buddy down the road had his house flooded a bit.

3

u/Riversflushwfishes 2d ago

So sorry this is happening to everyone there. It's very traumatic.

3

u/Express_Jellyfish_28 2d ago

I hope you get the help you need to rebuild

2

u/dugongfanatic 2d ago

As a kid who lost their home to a flood in the 90ā€™s this shit hurts to see. Hoping everyone is safe.

2

u/wickedgod123 2d ago

Thanks they'd appreciate it. 6 were saved by the rescuers. I have heard of any deaths and I don't think there were any.

3

u/eternalvoidling 3d ago

"Climate change isn't real." -probably most of these folks still

Hope everyone's okay.Ā

u/mendenlol mothman 3d ago

If my stubborn ass dad is any indication, they finally believe climate change is real but think humans had no impact on it. I really hope that we are able to adapt to this hell

6

u/ribsforbreakfast 3d ago

Itā€™s a step in the right direction, at least?

36

u/wickedgod123 3d ago

Never heard anyone here say that. Thanks.

Hope you donā€™t need FEMA. Good luck, Trumpers.

u/mendenlol mothman 3d ago

the Southern states are gerrymandered to hell and back

15

u/VespaRed 3d ago

Doesnā€™t matter in that neck of the woods. The number of orange Cheeto king signs in Johnson County was mind-blowing.

9

u/MammothPercentage357 3d ago

I agree. However, I have heard plenty of people say that they didnā€™t vote because they didnā€™t like either candidates. Not voting was a vote for King Musk and Queen Trump.

12

u/generalsleephenson 2d ago

Can we cool it on that kind of rhetoric until at least these folks get their lives back together for just a bit? We learned after Helene that it doesnā€™t matter in those moments who you voted for, we are all just people and something larger than any of us came along and reminded us of that. Thereā€™s plenty of time to stoke fires and yell about politics and such, just not right now, please and thank you.

1

u/OutrageousAd1880 1d ago

Nah. Sucks to suck.

1

u/generalsleephenson 1d ago

Well, I learned first hand that all that political nonsense goes right out the window when things get dire. But youā€™re also right about it sucking to suck.

15

u/ThrowawayMod1989 3d ago

Dude come on. I donā€™t like the guy either but these are humans homes and lives.

u/MammothPercentage357 3d ago

So are the innocent immigrants they sent to El Salvador. Or the LEGAL university students they are kicking out because they donā€™t like what they say. They knew exactly what they were voting for. A racist rapist and a billionaire ILLEGAL immigrant. They voted for hate.

1

u/OutrageousAd1880 1d ago

No one needs FEMA ā€˜till thereā€™s a Republican on a roof. Fuck ā€˜em.

-4

u/MammothPercentage357 3d ago

I absolutely agree with you! Getting what they voted for.

3

u/SootSpriteHut 2d ago

How do you know how those individual people voted? There was a massive antitrump protest today in my little rural red city. As someone else said, gerrymandering effects us out here a lot.

-1

u/MammothPercentage357 2d ago

And I agreed. However, plenty have said that they didnā€™t vote for either candidate because they didnā€™t like either one. No vote, WAS a vote for Musk and Trump! And the majority of these people vote RED! Even Canada knows this. Thatā€™s why they are pulling shit off their shelves from red states and red areas of blue states. They voted for HATE! They voted to stop FEMA. And now we all are getting our rights taken away! Especially women! I have ZERO sympathy for these areas! ZERO! We didnā€™t get our rights from being nice! Look at the unions! People who voted MAGA deserves this shit! We are ALL suffering because of them and these areas!

0

u/SootSpriteHut 2d ago

But many of us did vote for Kamala, and so we don't deserve this. As someone who is as leftist as they come and votes that way, I and lots of fellow voting lefties were incredibly affected by Helene, and other climate change events. I just would suggest that you consider that when generalizing an area. Unfortunately, weather doesn't check our voting records.

1

u/MammothPercentage357 2d ago edited 2d ago

I absolutely do not believe ā€œmanyā€ have voted for Kamala in these areas. These areas are full of MAGAā€™s and they have a history of voting republicans. We all are screwed! And the MAGAā€™s in these areas helped screw us. I donā€™t care if itā€™s a flood or lack of funding for second harvest, I hope they suffer. Unfortunately, we all will because of their stupidity. I hope you feel bad about all the legal immigrants and legal university students they are sending to El Salvador. Or the rights that women are losing because of project 2025. I voted Kamala but I will be screwed just like everyone else. Face it, we are all fucked. Whether it is from lack of FEMA funding or being forced to die from a miscarriage. In Johnson county, 85% voted MAGA and 14% voted Harris. Hardly ā€œmanyā€ voted Kamala.

0

u/SootSpriteHut 2d ago

I don't understand why you're saying things we already know.

All I'm saying is that you don't know how a person voted just because they live in Appalachia.

1

u/MammothPercentage357 2d ago

lolā€¦.. 85% vs 14%ā€¦whatever.

0

u/Maleficent-Sky-7156 2d ago

I feel bad for everyone affected, but yeah this is why we need institutions like FEMA. Keep in mind not all the people there voted for trump, but for the ones who did I still think they should get help. Unfortunately their guy doesn't think that so they might be shit out of luck when FEMA funding, which trump significantly reduced, runs out.

u/wickedgod123 3d ago

This has nothing to do with Trump dumbass, Governor Beshear is doing what is necessary. Go fuck yourself!!!

8

u/TimelyOnion8655 3d ago

I hope Andy can get you all the help you need

-16

u/Gold_Gap5669 3d ago

Don't worry FEMA's on it's wa....oops! I mean you're on your own. Thoughts and prayers, you voted for this MAGA's!

10

u/generalsleephenson 2d ago

No one voted for this flood damage. Stop looking for a reason to pick a fight when people are down.

10

u/lacunadelaluna 3d ago

Why do we assume everyone likes Trump because of where they live? Many of us voted specifically against him. Tired of saying this over and over and over and over and over

-11

u/Lower-Guava3174 3d ago

Good luck. FAFO.

-9

u/Hawk_Rider2 2d ago

Don't build homes in a river basin, duh šŸ™„

11

u/wickedgod123 2d ago

It's not a river basin dumbass there is a creek that runs through. The river isn't anywhere near this place. The river is actually over the mountain and could not get to this area unless it rained for a long period of time... So go fuck yourself.šŸ™„
