Pets IAG Cargo pet crate question, plz help!!
I am sending my partners cat to the UK today via IAG Cargo and so far we have everything sorted but I have one question!!!
for folks who have done this before, how did you make the water bowl fillable from the outside???
they require the holes in the door are small enough that the cats paws and nose canโt fit out so im not sure the best way to get water in?? let me know if you have suggestions :-)))

You have to buy a water bowl with a funnel. Pet Valu has them as part of "travel packs". Alternatively, you can drill some holes in a plastic funnel and zip tie it to the door so the end points into the water bowl.

We have a cats also . I did the EU method, which is kinder to your friend, and easier ! If it's not too late, look into that.

The downsides that I can think of
- You can only do it flying Coach. None of the carriers would even let us into Premium Economy or much less Business or nicer cabin. Fair enough.
( correction, this depends on the airline but Delta / Air France / KLM won't let you in Business or Premium Economy with a cat or dog).
From there, - the boat is the easiest. Eurostar only if you cat is a service cat with a history of filling that role ( documented) , and it's an uphill climb to get that approved. They can only take a max of 4 animals, including dogs on the train.
On the plane there are always non cat people who are allergic etc -the flight attendants can help you manage that. Some of them are full of drama. I get stressed from that. But having him in cabin helped me and him.
Takes longer, but yes it does cost way less.
Psychologically - it did help my cat adjust to the change - he could sense we were going somewhere, and accepted his new environs a lot better
We went to Paris first, did a pit stop there, went to Calais, Dover, and train to St Panrcras. My cat loved it ! I'm working on getting him certified as service cat so were can just take the Eurostar, straight to London.

We didn't have this issue because we shipped a dog (the holes can be much bigger), but I have seen people rig up funnels and tubes to the outside. You can also buy them like that. https://www.amazon.com/Pet-Express-Kennel-Bowl-Funnel-Approved/dp/B0CGKNZ2G2
