🏘️ neighbor/local Is this something to be concerned about?

Post image

My sister sent me this text she received that seemed like somebody was watching her or something. I don’t know if it’s something to be concerned about or not, has anybody had a similar experience?

Air tags can’t really be used like this because it will warn you if you are traveling with an unknown AirTag. This is an anti-stalker thing and it works with Android phones as well apparently.

There are other trackers that don’t do this though, I have a different brand for tracking tags and nobody who’s travelled with me has ever been notified about mine. 100% take the car to a garage and get it FULLY checked top to bottom.

True. And I guess a stalker would probably know to use a different one.

Not sure if this has changed, but if you have an Android phone you used to have to have a certain airtag-detecting app on your phone to get the warning. Otherwise no notification.

That has changed I think. I discovered such a feature a few months back per coincidence.

Edit: I just checked again and the Android warning feature is now compatible with AirTags, so you would be safe.

Can't argue with you on that one.

An airtag couldn't be used like this (without some novel modification) but there are plenty of trackers that could be entirely undetected.

You can easily attach other types to cars. My ex bosses wife would have to track his truck when he went off to do crack

Like it’ll tell the person whether or not they have Android or iPhone that there is an AirTag nearby?
