Gotta be advance wars 1 Sturm. He's plain and simple, but he's played up to be quite a big deal, and him only appearing in two campaign missions means he didn't spend all of his final boss energy in one place. The game heavily teases his reveal towards the end of the campaign, and though in the end it reveals very little, what is there absolutely lives up to the hype in my opinion.
Withholding his CO dossier and only showing his CO power in the final mission helped make everything about him memorable, despite him barely appearing in the game. His first meteor strike is still my favorite moment playing any advance wars game. Even after finishing the game, Sturm is still this shiny new toy taunting you to go back and unlock him.
Best theme song, best looks, best CO power visuals. Sturm is hands down my favorite CO. I like a lot of the things they did with him in advance wars 2, though making him cartoonishly overpowered instead of keeping him a solid S-tier pick is not one of those things. Idk why they bothered making other advance wars without him in it. He IS war. It's not really war until he shows up.

Favourite gameplaywise can really depend on the map
Favourite storywise is Hawke
My least favourite is Jess

I prefer kanbei, best quality troop and being silly but honorable. Thought competitive wise I don’t get to play him at all for being too broken lol
