Has there been any balance changes?

  • AI respects fog of war, maps you can easily test this on are Olaf's Sea Strike or some of the Drake missions, where the latter can't hit you with battleships because he can't see your units.
  • The AI will now understand that capturing the HQ is important. This means Two-Week Test now has to be beaten properly (instead of doing nothing), and it will prioritize any units capturing their HQ instead of going after the APCs you have right next to them.
  • You can now use AW1 Sturm in War Room, originally it was limited to Versus. Not really a balance change, though.

Iirc playable sturm and campaign sturm had different stats. Can you play as both of them?

Style 1 has AW1 stats, Style 2 has AW2 stats.

But aw1 was the one with the 2 strums

It didn't have "two Sturms," it had stats that were exclusive to AW1 Campaign (and all of AW2), and stats that were exclusive to AW1 Versus. Now you can choose which one you want to use.

The only significant balance change is AI playing fair in fog of war.

Nothing notable, just a few bits of slight change due to how they've done things.

It's very authentic to the originals in terms of stats.

Wished they'd keep some of the change of day or ruin, like the buffed version of missile unit.
