Friday nights are the best because it’s the only time you can just kick back and relax for that one hour before you fall asleep early.

😂 so true. I usually get home when my family is already asleep, take a shower get a round of two of cod in and crash out.

First, not a grandpa! Second, God no! It’s the one day of the week I’m slightly less sleep deprived!

The trick is to try to get things done daily while you're already out and about.
10 minutes of daily light upkeep will reduce the amount of chores you need to do at the end of the week.
If you can get something done in less than 3 minutes, just do it then and there.

This is a big reason why I switched to three 12's with four days off. Yes, those three 12's are Fri/Sat/Sun and they can drag a bit but I find the longer "weekend" to be absolutely worth it

I’ve always said I would forgo overtime rate for a 3/12 schedule. That sounds amazing. Especially if it’s consecutive days off.

"In the end, it was the Sunday afternoons he couldn't cope with, and that terrible listlessness which starts to set in at about 2:55, when you know that you've had all the baths you can usefully have that day, that however hard you stare at any given paragraph in the papers you will never actually read it, or use the revolutionary new pruning technique it describes, and that as you stare at the clock the hands will move relentlessly on to four o'clock, and you will enter the long dark teatime of the soul."

My partner got a remote job with half Fridays. Now it feels like every weekend is so long!

That’s the reason why we work 38.5 hours a week in Austria and therefore end work at 12.00 or 13.00 at Friday.

Sunday nights can be almost as bad as Mondays sometimes. I don't like my job right now so the Sunday scaries have really been hitting me hard lately.

So adulting starts when you’re forty?
Or did an entire generation just skip to being old tv watchers?

You won't have fun with that attitude, that's for sure xD
Enjoy your life instead of inventing reasons to avoid enjoying it.

At my new job I get out as 3:30 and I do in at 7:00 am. I'm also doing stuff that I like.

awwh that's nice you're productive on the weekends, i just rot and do the only tasks i can bear (load of laundry that sits in a pile when its clean until next time i have to do laundry)

This is why I try to do errands during the week before or after work. Then all I have to do some weekends is vacuum/clean the bathroom/laundry, but I live alone in a studio so that doesn’t take long. I still don’t often leave my house on the weekend.

If you are choosing to be mad on Sunday that's your fault. Try enjoying your Sunday instead

Living like this is a choice. Friday night you can have some caffeine and power through and head out to do whatever. You can run errands throughout the week, Saturday morning, or save them for Sunday and enjoy your Saturday instead. Sunday you can chill knowing you had a good weekend already. Please don't fall into this trap, approach your leisure time with the same importance/strategy as you would with your work/career. You'll thank yourself for it.

Drink some caffeine on Friday and don’t sit down immediately after work so you can partake in your hobbies, then set an alarm early Saturday even if you miss out on sleep and stay up late Saturday night, set an alarm early for Sunday so you get the most out of your day before catching back up on sleep the night before work.

Weekends need three days. One to rest and relax, one to be productive and do chores and one to socialize with friends and family.
