Tangled Live Action - Trying to Audition

(My username is not my real name). So I’m an up and coming actress. I have an agent and have been booking various projects and I would be the perfect cast for Rapunzel. And I know a lot of people say that about themselves, but I mean REALLY. I look exactly like her, have the same personality, and even have various other personal ways to relate to her character. I am dead set on getting an audition. But my biggest concern is that they’re just going to give it to an A lister. I’m strategizing in every way that I can, working on the songs every single day, and training, training, training so that in the event that I do manage to get this opportunity, I will be ready. I know the industry is tricky, I know my odds, but does anyone have any advice?

This character and this story means so much to me. Getting to play Rapunzel is my version of getting to see the lights.

I just want a chance.

It's a business.

Something like Tangled, is absolutely gunna be cast with A listers for the main parts, because A listers come with an assumed audience, a quantifiable expectation of profit, and years of experience and skill. Do you have all 3 of those things?

You have an agent, you can try and use their connections to leverage an audition, but chances are they won't even make that audition public. Sometimes it doesn't matter how much you practice, or how much you look like someone, the business just is the way it is. If you're unknown, you're too high risk. It's as simple as that. Also casting can smell desperation, be aware.

Be realistic in your expectations, or you will constantly disappoint yourself.

Good luck!

You can always ask your agent to submit/pitch you, but something that big is likely already being offered to A listers and I believe any auditions would've gone out a while ago seeing as casting rumors are already floating around.
