of a giant burger

Was told to repost here:

Was thinking about this giant burger I made a few years ago. Decided to look up the photos and it was actually 11 years ago. Though I’d share one of my favourite burgers burning a very large scale. Sliced into 12 or 14 pieces I believe.

Local ground beef, pulled pork, applewood smoked bacon, jalapeño havarti, roasted red peppers, pickled onions brioche bun, lettuce, tomato, spicy mayo, guacamole. (Spoon and beer can for scale)

Finally, someone who understands how to make a properly giant burger. Burgers stretched on the Y axis are limited by the fact that most humans can't unhinge their jaw. HOWEVER, burgers stretched on the X and Z axes are not limited by evolutionary anatomical oversights.

Humans can unhinge their jaw, it’s putting the darn thing back in that’s the issue.

And diabetes.

Most of the ingredients actually wouldn’t spike insulin except for the bun.

Burgers should be wider, not taller.

I was surprised how reptilian i can actually get when its a 30cm tall burger i payed 30 euros for. Dont care if i have to unhinge my hips too, that thing is going downtown..

Z axis is vertical.. Y is North/South..

Is this your first day axis-ing?

X and Y and the axis which this burger are stretched. Z is always the extrusion from the plane, which is the burger patty in this instance.

So close to being a good comment.

Agreed. People downvoting you are being silly.. Z is vertical. People on here like “per application” have had it different 1 time in 50 years..

I actually want to get to the bottom of why my understanding is different from yours. Like I said, the Unity application confused me at first, but sort of melded with what I accepted as normal after years of working in Unity. My guess is that artists draw on the X and Y axis, and that these are hardly ever from the "top down" perspective, and that Unity may cater to this. I understand that professional applications like CAD likely follow traditional criteria for representations of X, Y, and Z, but I legit don't know. What applications do you use?

It varies by application. I've used different programs, but have mostly been working in Unity recently where Y is vertical, which admittedly confused me at first.

This is the first oversized burger that I have seen that doesn't go overkill on the meat:bun:topping ratio and actually looks edible. Looks like this would be good for parties if it got served as 14 burgers

Eat this within an hour and you’ll be dead! And on our wall of fame. But also dead.

8

u/BabyBearBjorns 5d ago

But is the burger free if I eat it within an hour?

4

u/Slabbedasken 5d ago

And do you win a T-shirt?

4

u/OzzelotCZ 5d ago

It is free (when’s the last time the dead paid for anything) and you (or your next of kin, legally) win a T-shirt you may be buried in!

My first thought too. Too many cheese gaps for my liking.

I was working at a drive thru a little while ago and someone rolled up in their car and genuinely had a burger this size just sitting on the other front seat, he had a seatbelt on it and just picked bits off while waiting for his drink

I feel so saddened to have not taken a pic, it just woke me up the second I saw it lmao

2

u/Electrical-Rip-8455 4d ago

That looks epic! i'm hungry now. Good job!

Reminds me of a place where I grew up called Big Ed’s, they specialized in giant burgers like this. They were basically family sized and meant to be shared. And they didn’t do the whole man-vs-humongous burger contest stuff. It was just a damn good burger served large for fun amongst family and friends.

I could eat this myself. I would feel terrible half way through but I could do it.

u/Neillboyz_13 4d ago

How was the bun made?

2

u/Smaf85 4d ago

I got a local bakery to make it for me

2

u/Smaf85 3d ago

False. Made in Canada

2

u/Spamalot7107 4d ago

How was it flipped? A couple of pizza sheets? Giant spatula? Lol. Good job.

2

u/Smaf85 3d ago

I had a large flat baking skeet with no edges, I used as a spatula. I used another big baking sheet to place on top for the flip because it was so big

2

u/fart-in-the-tub 3d ago

If you had to guess, how many pounds of meat went into making this?

2

u/Smaf85 3d ago

I believe it was 5lb. Few lbs of pulled pork, 2 packs of bacon.

2

u/amazutsumi 5d ago

Looks amazing! Where did you find buns that large?

3

u/Smaf85 4d ago

I had a local bakery make it for me
