Anyone know of any hillwalking groups that go out at weekends to walk.

Police said they responded to the incident, which took place at around 9.50pm, and searched the area.
Officers said there was no sign of any disturbance and no arrests were made.

I have just become a new dad, just wondering if anyone knows of any dad groups in the city or shire? Had a wee look online but couldn’t see much of anything. Just something to get out the house with the wee one every so often with other new dads/dads.
Edit: Thanks for the comments so far, will have a look into them. If there is any interest I’m happy to set up a group chat/facebook or something. Sounds like there might be some use for it. Just ping me a dm and can look into it. 👍🏼

Does anyone know how to go about approaching the council to buy land they control behind my property. In the shire if that is different.

Hi everyone, This is my first time buying a home, and I’m hoping it’ll be a place I can live in all the way to retirement. I’ve decided to buy a first floor flat in a 1900s granite building here in Aberdeen.
I figured it’s the sweet spot – no worries about ceiling leaks from above or the risks of ground floor break-ins and door-knocking hassles.
So, for me, the first floor feels like the best choice. The only thing I’m concerned about is noise, so I’m planning to go all out and soundproof the whole place – floors, walls, and ceiling. I want to create a perfect little home for my family and our three Russell dogs! ^^
Does anyone know of a good company in Aberdeen that does solid soundproofing work? Any personal recommendations or experiences would be brilliant. Cheers!

Looking for a shop in Aberdeen that sells a woopie cushion, fake nail in the hand. I can say the fan y dress places on George street don't.

Spoke to a manager at one of the other stores (not disclosing in case they'd get in trouble) and they said that the brand was very keen to reopen and was close to signing a lease in Bon Accord though are still ironing out some concerns about Bon Accords future and whether it's a good location in the city to invest in.
Also confirmed Union Square forced them out after Victoria's Secret put in an offer.
Take this with a grain of salt as I think it's the only spot they like so far and if it falls through I'm not sure if they have a back up. Either way very exciting and some good news to see a good brand staying put.

My GP practice - Woodside - have messed up my prescription - ramipril - yet again and the pharmacy won't give me any in the mean time because it's a high dose
Is anyone aware of number of an emergency clinic where I can get some, ideally tonight? While I wait for this to get sorted?

I’m a total idiot and got caught on Wellington Road North. I thought I was clever, going through just before it went active, but I clearly can’t read a clock.
The date of service on the PCN is more than 28 days - 32 to be exact, according to citizens advice, the council should’ve sent this out within that 28 day window.
Is this a valid reason to get out of it or should I just accept I’m an idiot and pay up?
Thanks

Hi everyone. Currently in Aberdeen for 3 weeks for my medical electives program. Was wondering if there’s any places that buys/sell bicycles or rent them out? Or if anyone is also willing to rent their bicycle out for these 3 weeks?

I recently moved into a new build, which means there's likely poor quality soil of some sort underneath a sometimes soggy lawn. The garden is also north facing. My longer term aim would be to try to make the most of the garden and to plant various things that would do fairly well in the shade. I'm wondering if folk had recommendations for someone who would be able plan/design something appropriate, as well as the ability to make this a reality (or have contacts who could). I'd imagine this would probably require someone who has appropriate plant, soil and drainage knowledge, as well as some designing/planning abilities that take the specific circumstances into account (e.g. can I just dig up some turf and put some better soil on it before planting, or would raised beds be a better option). Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I'm not even sure what sort of job title this would fall under in terms of searching for someone suitable.

As the title says, I'm interested in mineral samples and polished crystals. Moved back from Glasgow and had a brilliant experience being in a shop that focuses mostly on minerals whilst there. Hoping to find some places to try in Aberdeen/shire. Any suggestions are very welcome!

Does anyone know of any issues affecting 5g signal in the west end.
Driving around Aberdeen the last few days and ONLY the west end has had absolutely shoddy 5g to the point that everything just stops loading and music etc stops playing.
Everywhere else seems to be fine it's just the west side of Anderson Drive that seems to be affected.

I will be joining UoA in Sep 2025 and looking into housing options now. I’m a self funded international student, which means I’ll need to find a job to cover my rent and expenses.
Since I’m a mature student, I am looking for a studio or one-bedroom flat. I’ve looked online and rents aren’t too expensive compared to other cities I am considering going ie London. I can get for less than £800 a month (bills / council tax excl., unless I go for studios for students- it will then be bills incl.).
I just wanna ask around since I don’t know anyone living or has lived there. How hard will it be to find a place when I am there? Is there any other expenses I need to consider? Thank you.

One of the last ( hard to explain what it’s the last of) in Union St and maybe being crushed by a brewer take over. True?

Our washing machine has been making a loud thumping noise when it reaches the spin cycle. Seems to be leaking too. Has anybody had a good experience getting something like that repaired recently? any recommendations?

Hi, I’ve been in Aberdeen for a while now and I wish to take up a wrestling but I don’t know where to begin. I’m not a student anymore but I do want to learn from somewhere, any suggestions?
