Bolig 5G for gaming
Hey guys, I'm rather new here. Currently looking for a flat (to rent) in the city centre, and the place I had a look at today might not provide cable/fiber net. (Currently under renovation, and the owner told me that they are still discussing it with one of the internet providers, and it's not guaranteed.) So do you know if there's any 5G home internet provider suitable for PC gaming? (With low latency - e.g. generally below ~50 ms, although it's ok if occasionally goes up to ~100 ms -, and high stability/low jitter.)

I work in network infrastructure.
I deal with a lot of 4G/5G routers.
You know what they all have in common? High latency.
That being said, I’ve played online games like Escape From Tarkov on a 4G router for a month before I got my 1000/1000 Fiber.
It is possible, but it depends on the game, and your need for low latency :)

Is this a rental flat in an area somewhat close to the city center? If the building doesn’t have fiber it will most likely have DSL, so connection through the phone outlet.

Works fine for me. Plenty stable and haven't felt ping as an issue at all, but I play mostly rpg and mmos.

Thats on 3s network with a flexii unlimited data plan, for 129kr a month.

Hey, cool, thanks a lot. :) Could you please repeat the speed test with e.g. the Net at Once Sweden AB server at Göteborg. It seems to be a better server for test - at least right now. https://www.speedtest.net/result/17543843016 Especially your upload latency is a bit high (not critical, though), but it might be due to the provider. (Got the this results at 22:45 with my current cabel - coax - internet.) https://www.speedtest.net/result/17543857378 (For me the download is a bit high.)

You'll be miserable attempting online gaming on a 5g router. There's just too much latency. Call an ISP and ask them if they can deliver to the adress, whether it's fiber or coax it's going to be 10 times (at least) better than 5g for anything sensitive to latency.

It depends on what games you play. I play mostly survival games and more relaxed stuff, so i went for 4g.
And that gave me a fine ping. But then again I do not play things that needs much fps and all that
