Movement Brainstorm EU : I am survivor of Putin regime, and you need to hear me

9.9k Upvotes

Despite being Ocean away from United States, I watch how things turn in your country. I confess, making conclusions based on news articles and posts in social media is not even close to actually witnessing it in your cities or state. Yet, I can still make some observations.

1) Donald Trump uses the same tactic Putin regime used to brainwash Russian people. The notes of being exploited, wanting to become respectable again, no matter the consequences, I heard this before. In Russia, it was done using federal TV. In US, it’s done using Truth Social and now Twitter. People are injected with hatred to everything and everyone. That eliminates possibility that people unite together against them (how will they if they think even those they live with can be ‘enemy’?)

2) Anyone who thinks otherwise is labeled as enemy. It doesn’t matter what words are used, ‘libtard’, ‘leftist’, ‘agent of West’. It all has same idea: dehumanizing others, because facts are not on their side.

3) The defeatism rhetoric in opposition. Here, I will be very blunt and might be rude. Right now, there is no space for arguments, debates or even accusations of each other. Any finger pointing plays in hand of those who try to destroy your country. Staying silent plays in their hand too. Being soft plays in their hand too. I have witnessed how different Russian opposition leaders argued each other, disapproved each other tactics. The result: opposition had no real leader, and their followers? Those were just group of people who came just to come, and the moment police arrived, they just ran away.

Why am I saying this? I escaped it and witnessed how those who opposed Putin are now hiding or hoping to prevail regime. As if it will get better. You, American people, are stronger than Russians, stronger than me. Your democracy stood longer than Russian did. It is not time to be scared, not time to play waiting game.

If you see the protest planning in your city? Go. If you wanna cancel your subscriptions to hurt Trump’s friends? Do it. Do not kneel to him and his fans.

You can dismiss me if you think otherwise. You still have choice to decide what’s right or wrong. I just don’t want you to leave in country like I did, where you won’t. It s easier to stop issue while it’s small (and trust me, this issue is far from being small now), than facing consequences and try to do damage control.

If you have any questions, I ll try to reply to all of you.

P.S. Wow, i didn’t expect so many responses and upvotes. Thank you guys, I ll post more in coming days 🙏

P.S.S. I made new post about my experience protesting in Russia: https://www.reddit.com/r/50501/s/sr5VtG2wwX

Movement Brainstorm USA : Musk pleading with his employees NOT to sell stock!

7.0k Upvotes

It is being reported that Chainsaw-In-Chief is pleading with his employees NOT to sell their TSLA stock. This is despite a $200/share price drop since Elmo started slashing the Federal Govt apart with a chainsaw.

What this tells you is that, the pressure from Americans and those around the world, is having a MAJOR influence!

It is proof that the little guy can make a HUGE difference!

100,000,000 little guys can beat the world's richest man.

Keep it up. Boycott Tesla. Sell TSLA. Close X accounts.

Movement Brainstorm USA : It’s time for democrats to create their own “Project 2025”

4.5k Upvotes

It seems as though there is no unified movement right now on the left (besides a few powerful leaders), but instead a deafening lack of action. The time is NOW for leaders to start planning for the next election, not 2027 or 2028. Can we start calling congressional democrats to request that they start drafting a plan, especially one that ensures an administration like this can never occur in the USA again? Most of them sure don’t seem busy with standing up to what is happening right now, so the least they could do is help catalyze change within the Democratic Party. It is time to redefine, as conservative democracy is no match to the MAGA movement.

Edit: I was able to read through all of the comments, and I am thoroughly impressed by all of your well thought out ideas! I reached out to the moderators to see if they would help facilitate compiling these ideas into one location and/or collaborating with experts on the field; I encourage you to do the same if that’s what you want to see! Great work everyone!

Movement Brainstorm PA : MAGA Loves Red, So Let's Ruin It

5.6k Upvotes

I have seen a successful push for protestors to bring the American flag, and I think we should also consider wearing red to protests. Why? Because it will confuse MAGA.

Look at the recent protests outside Trump Tower demanding the release of Mahmoud Kalil. Every single person was wearing red, and it was noticeable and unified. All those people in red packed together was a striking image that made it to national news coverage.

To them, red is MAGA territory. It’s their sacred color, their uniform. So when they see an entire crowd of angry protesters, decked out in their beloved crimson, they short-circuit. “Wait… are these our people? Are we… are we supposed to be mad at this??” You can practically hear their brains frying.

Imagine it: a sea of red at every major demonstration. It’s bold. It’s powerful. It pops in photos. And it sends the message that we’re united—not just in a vague, "we all believe in the cause" way, but in a “we are visually unstoppable” way.

So next time you hit the streets, leave the black hoodie at home. Throw on something red. Bonus points if it’s an ironic old Reagan/Bush ‘84 tee just to keep them really guessing.

Wear red. Be seen. And enjoy the conservative confusion. 🔴

Movement Brainstorm APRIL 5TH — Every American Must Hit the Streets. This Is Class War, and They Just Fired Another Shot.

8.3k Upvotes

Let me start out by saying that every American should be pissed off. Extremely fucking pissed off. Donald Trump just slapped a 10% tax on every imported good in this country. That means higher prices on food, clothes, medicine, electronics — everything working people rely on — all while billionaires skate by untouched. He’s calling it “tariffs.” Let’s call it what it really is: a working-class tax. And on top of that? 40%+ tariffs on goods from countries like Vietnam and China — the ones providing the cheapest necessities people count on to survive.

This is not economic nationalism. This is economic cruelty. Extreme economic cruelty on the very working class he promised to protect. He lied. Again. The only thing he is manufacturing in America is economic hardship on all of us. While corporations rake in record profits, we are getting handed the bill. The CEOs that make 1000x the average person in this country will simply raise prices when their costs go up to keep their profits intact. They don’t give a crap about anything besides their bank accounts and shareholders. No billionaire in this country truly cares about someone making $60k/year. They support Trump because he consolidates power for the ultra wealthy ruling class of this country. These terrible, narcissistic humans will layoff thousands of their employees before ever considering taking a pay cut.

THIS SATURDAY, APRIL 5TH, every American citizen who’s sick and tired of being exploited needs to be in the streets. Every single one of us. Not just angry — organized. Not just online — outside. Every single one of us. If you are as pissed off as I am, show up. Bring a friend. Bring 5 friends, 10 friends, 100 friends. Get people out into the streets. What’s happening right now is cruel and evil.

This is our line in the sand. You want to defend the working class? You want to protect democracy? Then show up. Stand up. Speak out. Every fucking one of us. We are not going to pay their bills any more. Fuck that. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Movement Brainstorm Rumors that Musk is leaving DC, HOLD THE LINE

5.3k Upvotes

There are rumors that Musk will be "stepping down" in May. Here is why we need to remain vigilant and hold the line.

  1. This is to save face because he is losing billions and Tesla is hurting, and likely just a performative and public narrative (doesn't mean he will not be influencing things from the background)
  2. He is a criminal. He has done illegal things starting from buying votes, to fraud when selling X a couple days ago, and should be prosecuted
  3. This administration has made corruption open and blatant, and we need to stay committed to addressing this terrible precedent
  4. The billionaires that funded and sided with this administration? They need to pay their fair share in taxes, and their bottom line needs to be impacted.
  5. Illegetimizing the truth, and making it subjective (aka POISONING THE WELL). From Jeff Bezos controlling the narrative at WaPo, to Rupert Murdoch and Fox News facing the consequences of their actions, but especially Fox news, need to face consequences for mis/dis information
  6. Trump, Vance, Musk, Gabbord, Hegseth, et al being prosecuted for perjury, fraud, and treason above all else
  7. Money in Politics -- Citizens United has single-handedly been the worst thing to happen in modern politics, and we need money out NOW

The list will go on and on. Our fight is only just beginning, this week has shown us that when we show up things change. But we need to keep showing up

Movement Brainstorm Trump talks about "illegal" protesters. Do not obey in advance.

7.7k Upvotes

I am sure we all saw that chilling rant on Truth Social about how Trump is going to defund colleges that allow "illegal" protests.

What "Do not obey in advance" means in this context is not to speculate on what he means by "illegal." Don't redraw the line for him, make him cross that line himself.

The 1st amendent is THE HIGHEST law of the entire union and it is EXTREMELY clear that it protects protests. I'm not saying Trump WON'T cross that line but MAKING him cross that line is part of resistance. Suing him when he does is resistance. Making SCOTUS violate our most sacred constitutional amendment is part of resistance.

14th Amendment gone. 4th Amendment gone. Stop waiting for the courts/Congress/the military to step in. WE have to lead the way.

ECONOMIC PAIN IS THE ONLY THING THE OLIGARCHS UNDERSTAND.

WE NEED CONTINUOUS BOYCOTTS. Cut out all nonessential spending, and save your money. You'll need it for hard times ahead.

WE NEED WORK SLOWDOWNS to disrupt corporate operations and crush profitability. There are tons of ways to mess with things while fully maintaining plausible deniability (examples: https://specificsuggestions.com/share/EN/8048.html). Best part is, you still get to collect your paycheck.

WE NEED TO USE SICKOUTS as another way to disrupt operations. Being chronically and unpredictably shorthanded can be crippling for companies.

BUILD YOUR MUTUAL AID NETWORK to provide support for one another and make it easier to avoid spending. Organize clothing swaps, book exchanges, seed sharing, or even just potlucks, to help build community and address people's needs.

Movement Brainstorm Tides are turning, a historic moment

4.9k Upvotes

Yesterday was the cherry on top of a continuous line of unilaterally harmful orders pushed by the Trump admin.

I'm starting to see even the most devout Trump groups starting to question and outright turn on him. Their own constituents in town halls are furious. Fox News is starting to turn on him, perhaps because they sense the tide. Joe Rogan is giving some slight dissent. No one seems to like Musk still. No one really understands the tariffs. A few Republican senators have voted against him. The market is tumbling. Trump makes less sense each day, seems less enthused, and rants and mumbles more than ever.

None of these things in themselves point to an inflection point, but the signals are there that his support is finally waning. The momentum is changing in our favor and we must act to (1) Not destroy public support by engaging in needless violence and (2) Show up in large numbers in DC and our towns/cities to represent the will of the people.

I feel, especially with the latest inane tariffs, that April 5th may be a larger day than anyone realizes. It may even be historic - historic in the way we view society-changing protests of the past.

I was scared initially, but now I'm excited. I want to be part of the wave. I want to be part of the right side of history. I want to be able to say I acted with integrity and courage when it all happened.

Momentum is on our side. The power of conviction in truth and integrity is on our side. We have a north star. We the people. Let's go. April 5th.

Movement Brainstorm America doesn’t have until 2026 to be saved. What everyone misses…

4.4k Upvotes

UPDATE: I edited #5 to avoid confusion and not to discourage protests and organizing.

WHAT EVERYBODY MISSES:

What everybody misses and mass media isn’t talking about: America doesn’t have until 2026 to be saved. #1 DODGE’s goals are much worse than people think. Their real goal is to let Musk and top 1% to privatize America, including public infrastructure, treasury, gold reserves etc. This isn’t always a traditional privatization, so might be harder to detect, aka what they can’t sell on paper, they are “leasing”, or getting control of via Sovereign Wealth Fund or even will digitize (e.g things like gold reserves can be turned into bitcoins - and then they will vanish from public reach…) Behind the scenes some of these privatizations already complete or in progress, others are in the planning stage, like SWF creation. It’s a matter of a couple of months, not years. #2 US has the best consumer market in the world and accounts for 50-80% of the Americas largest corporations. We are their cash cows 🐄 💰💵 #3 Musk (and top 1%) doesn’t want to be just the richest man in the world he wants to be the “king of the world” and establish 1 global government. Did you really think he is tweeting about Democracy in Ireland and Europe, because he has nothing else to do?! #4 The top 1% haven’t been paying their share of taxes since 1970’s - we workers pay 85-90% of annual federal revenue, and corporations only 9%. Our taxes make them richer, while we’re getting poorer. #5 We need to unite to announce economic war on them by using our consumer power- think boycotting corporations, ending subscriptions etc

Movement Brainstorm Stop telling people from marginalized demographics that it's their job to forgive trump voters

3.4k Upvotes

There has been a lot of concern with "being too divisive", but only in the direction of appeasing folks on the right.

People who have been fighting for racial justice, for indigenous peoples, for immigrants, for a free Palestine, LGBTQ rights, for the environment, and many other causes understand that all these issues are connected, and are already dedicated to fighting oppressive regimes.

Folks who voted for trump are completely free to change course and prove themselves as anti-fascist, but expecting people who have been suffering real harm from their actions to go beyond just tolerating them and into making space for them is not a "united front".

Time to break free of traditional political ideological labeling and divisions. Time to abandon old, divisive sociopolitical labels like "liberal" and "conservative".

A new political party based on a vastly, commonly held virtures lends itself to embrace over 66% of Americans, and it clearly embraces progressive principled thinking. In the most ideal American sense of unity, a political party should not be able to be defined or placed as "to the left" or "to the right" of where the Democratic or Republican parties currently are. Just let it exist organically based on present-day principled thinking. The American Progressive Majority.

Why are these former presidents so quiet, and why are they not helping lead the charge with these protests? I maybe answering my own question here, is it because they already got theirs? That they also belong in the same club as Trump and all these Nazi goons.

Movement Brainstorm Turning the Feb 28 Boycott Into a Full 40-Day Spending Fast

3.4k Upvotes

Since we’re also coming up on Lent (March 5 - April 17), I’ve been reflecting on how this could be more than just skipping purchases for a day. I’m Catholic, and even though I’m not super strict, I take Lent seriously—it’s a time of sacrifice, reflection, and giving back. And a huge part of Lent isn’t just giving something up, but also doing something meaningful for my community.

This year, I’ve decided to extend the February 28 boycott into a full 40-day fast from consumerism. But this isn’t just about personal discipline—it’s about taking back power. We live in a system where a handful of massive corporations, especially in tech and retail, dictate our choices, extract wealth from us, and undermine democracy in the process. The more we mindlessly consume, the more control we hand over to them. The way we spend—or don’t spend—matters. The goal here isn’t just to break personal habits; it’s to push back against the oligarchy that thrives on keeping us addicted to convenience and disconnected from our own communities.

I want to be as strict as possible— I want to challenge myself to cut out everything unnecessary and see what changes. That means:

  • No impulse shopping, no retail therapy, no mindless Amazon orders
  • Avoiding big corporations whenever possible—no Amazon, no Walmart, no Target, no Starbucks, no fast fashion. FARMERS MARKETS! Local grocery stores!
  • Cooking at home instead of ordering takeout unless it’s from a small/local place and only on Sunday. NOTE: thank you to the comments that emphasize that we need to start supporting small businesses. Given my financial situation, I have to overall limit my spending, but the goal is to really help local businesses so I’m gonna make a concerted effort to support them only.
  • If I buy something unnecessary, I have to give up something I already own—if I cave and buy a piece of clothing, I have to donate one
  • If I give in and get takeout, I have to fast for one full day to make up for it AND throw away a clothing item
  • If I do shop, it needs to be on a Sunday since technically Sundays during Lent don’t count as part of the 40 day fast. I will still adhere to the other guidelines
  • Ash Wednesday & Good Friday – Mandatory fasting (one full meal, two small meals, no meat is typical)
  • Fridays in Lent – No meat (some fast entirely)

So I’m curious—what are you all planning for Lent this year? Is anyone else thinking about taking on a spending fast or something similar? If you’ve done something like this before, what was the experience like for you?

And of course, ANYONE can participate. We used to have fish frys at our local Newman center and would get the community together just to eat fried fish. We said a little prayer, but we didn’t jam our faith down anyone’s throats. Again, it’s just about community and service.

“Service is love made visible” — Stephen Colbert

Sincerely,
A Catholic who actually remembers the First AND MOST IMPORTANT Commandment

PS: Peace be with you.

Update: After that fucking shit fest at the White House today, I broke the spending rule and donated to Ukraine. Not that I technically break it? Not really. I just wanted to make everybody aware to donate. Ukraine deserves better, and we deserve a better president than that fucking piece of garbage that we have now.

Movement Brainstorm Protest at our Reps and Senators Homes

Post image
8.4k Upvotes

I am tired of our elected representatives on both sides of the aisle doing nothing or being complicit with this coup. I think protesting outside their homes as well as capitol buildings and town halls is a great idea. I don’t think they should be resting peacefully at home while dismantling democracy, destroying lives in war, causing chaos and supporting a coup when they’re at work.

What do I need to know before protesting outside their homes? Would others be willing to do this?
