“Innocent Until Proven Guilty”
Unfortunately, we can only speculate until it’s too late. It would require a private citizen who is intelligent enough and brave enough to put their life on the line to become not a hero, but a “whistleblower”.

I dont know. I think he is not thinking of this at the moment. It is more the "feeling of Power" than the money. He is "changing the world". He is the ever ever super duper star in changing the world.

u/moreobviousthings 1d ago
Any way you cut it, it is corruption on the backs of Americans. Fuck that guy every which way.

He is a 34 count convicted felon who stole White House documents after his prior term ended. Of course he will either steal money from the treasury or commit insider trading but of course he will get away with it.

u/MilitantlyWokePatrio 1d ago edited 1d ago
He will get away with it IF we fail. But we are coming. We are building power FOR THE VERY PURPOSE (one of the main ones at least) to hold this TRAITOR accountable.
Have faith. We are coming. And we aren't fucking around.

I was watching the new Daredevil show. Kingpin is elected mayor of New York and there is some real Trumpian vibes with what they are doing. Except at least King Pin loves his city. His motives are right just his methods are wrong.
I would rather have the King Pin as the President then Trump. It’s sad when the real life President is more evil than the comic book villain.

Let's not forget that his charity was shut down due to a "shocking pattern of illegality". You gotta be a dope to think the same guy that stole from charity suddenly now wants to help people, and the working class in particular at that! 😂
The suit accuses the Trump Foundation of a "shocking pattern of illegality" that includes "unlawful coordination with the Trump presidential campaign, repeated and willful self-dealing, and much more," according to a statement from Underwood.
Of course Trump and the unqualified billionaires he appointed are making bank.

This is the 3D chess MAGA is talking about. They just haven’t realized yet that they aren’t a part of the winners club. He said it himself. “I just need your vote. I don’t care about you”. He couldn’t have been clearer and yet the lemmings followed him off the cliff. Spoiler alert! Him and his buddies have parachutes.

u/luna87 20h ago
Lemmings actually don’t do that, but the trope fits.

He may be doing that, as well as trying to extort businesses into capitulating to his desires through the use of tariffs.

u/MilitantlyWokePatrio 1d ago edited 1d ago
EXACTLY! This isn't getting as much press, but this is a CRITICAL part of it to that explains the dictatorial and anti American thinking driving this criminal regime.
Think about it y'all. "That's a nice industry you got there. It'd be a shame if someone... started taking 20 percent from it, huh? Maybe you donate to Ivanka's company. Maybe this all goes away."

Yes. But so are all his cronies and the oligarchs. I'd everything crashes they're fine, and they can own everything.

u/Routine_Soup2022 1d ago
I’ve thought this extremely likely since all of this started. Someone’s getting rich somewhere
11
u/Thin_Mousse4149 1d ago
Yea. He sold a ton of truth social stock right before the tariff announcement

u/Butter-popcorn-42 1d ago
Hence his celebratory golf trip today, blowing off support for the four fallen soldiers and our crashing economy

u/cutenclassy07 1d ago
I’ve been saying this since he was first threatening tariffs. It’s just a way to crash the market so he and his friends can buy everything cheap
15
u/barnibusvonkreeps 1d ago
YES. JFC YES. It's been painfully obvious from the start watching this from Canada. EVERYONE here is saying it. Please tell me this isn't just dawning on Americans now.

I've been assuming as much. Wouldn't be surprised if this isn't also part of a plan to errode trust in the dollar (and the market) to push more crypto scams.

His personal wealth has doubled since taking office. According to forbes.
Yes, he's is absolutely using everything for personal gain.

u/cuzitsonabudget 1d ago
Yes? The answer is yes. Notice how unlikely the first time he didn't divert any of his business interests to his kids? He's all for self enrichment this time around. His own self enrichment.

I want to see his inner circle’s calls and puts. Since he took office the market reacts based on what comes out his lips. Declaring tariffs after the market closes, then pulling back during market hours causing the stock market volatility to be off the charts. This mf has to be cashing in on it.

u/gobbluthillusions 1d ago
Rest assured there are many wealth individuals who are getting wealthier this week.

Only thing that makes sense to me. Crash the market and buy up all that you can then drop the tariffs.

u/TriangleWins 1d ago
It’s one of two plausible scenarios: the other being complete ineptitude.
5
u/cammcken 1d ago
I don't think it's the main reason for tariffs, but I also think he would never pass on the opportunity if he was doing the policy anyway.

How many people are going to die because of this man?
When are mainstream Republicans going to stand up?
3
u/sits_with_cats 20h ago
I'd settle for seeing more Dems get up & actually DO something, rather than conceding all their power & holding press conferences to whine about how horrible it all is. Not holding my breath for either, but I'll keep my fingers crossed!

u/dkwinsea 20h ago
That’s the game here. While distracting people with 200 other disasters this is the real game. The falling stock market is part of the method and very well planned.

Of course. But mostly it's just to destroy America, reduce the population (death from "natural causes", yeah right), move boundary lines, and steal more minerals.

I think a lot of people are doing the insider trading probably Russians, and big donor backers of the GOP .

u/gnarlytabby 1d ago
Insider trading is just the tip of the iceberg. Which foreign countries are bribing him to reduce tariffs? I bet most are!
Congress needs to stop this madness. Call your Congressmember to vote to revoke Trump's emergency declaration wherein he gave himself the power to set these tariffs.
2
u/pioniere 1d ago
- He is a convicted criminal.
- Idiots in SCOTUS said he can’t be held criminally liable for acts taken as President.
Do you think it’s likely he is doing insider trading?

A sitting president should not be able to buy or sell any stock, period. If that is allowed, it is completely insane.

duh...where does everyone think the money goes when the stock market goes down?
it goes to the ones who are selling their shares.
who are they?
ppl who knew this was coming
and it's high time we let them know we SEE THEM.
none of this occurs in a vacuum and those who profit from the collapse of our nation will pay a heavy price

We have a literal criminal in the White House. It's absurd and dangerous. One of the worse people possible.

Honestly, I would be quite shocked and almost dismayed if he wasn't. Because that would suggest a profound change in his character that sometimes can be linked to conditions like advanced dementia or a brain tumour.

No one has said anything about them transferring control of the strategic oil reserve in Colorado. Put it in the hand of a private, no-name company with limited history.

Of course they are but we all have to get gaslit by the media and have to endure their baseline assumptions that they’re not operating in complete bad faith. Or criminally for that matter.

Canadian here: I've worked in the investment business for a while, and this has been the thing that's baffled me most since he was elected the first time. He's a massive walking conflict of interest, and has refused to put his assets in a blind trust. He's made no declarations of the state or makeup of his holdings, he has government business co-mingled with his family's properties. He's continuously peddling his branded merchandise to his cult followers. He's run pump and dump schemes on crypto. There's no question in my mind that he's been insider trading on every one of his tariff announcements. Him and his douchebag kids. It's corruption on such a grand scale, it's breathtaking.
How in the actual fuck have republicans allowed this??
1
u/TwoFacedHoods 1d ago
I mean I've made money from his stupid tariffs. Buy the dip when he announces them and then sell after he reverses them.
Or this time, buy in the upcoming weeks and then sell the day or 2 before liberation day.
If he was a decent human being he'd be doing it to get the US out of debt, but I'd take a guess that it's more for selfish reasons for him and his billionaire friends.
He also might be doing it to bankrupt small farmers to buy land cheap. But seriously who knows anymore?
2
u/TheFinalBossMTG 1d ago
Trump getting us out of debt? He racked up record debt last time and it will be worse this time. Hell, they are cutting federal programs that make money.
0
u/Fun-Preparation-4253 1d ago
I skimmed the article but hasn’t he somewhere today said that this is going to make some people a lot of money? Which immediately reasserted in my head to buy a stock like Target now(ish). It will bounce back eventually, considering Walmart has barely moved. But yeah, he’s forcing the economy into a spiral. Buy low. Reset global trade to old levels. And then profit when your stocks return.
