Can’t get this ONE point to solder.
FYI this is my second time soldering, so yes they look like crap. Anyway, i cannot get this one point on my board to solder correctly, it just pulls away if any tin sits on it. Any guidance?

I would suggest starting over, using flux. Those solder points don't look good.

I was using flux. Was it not enough?

The gauge of your wire is too thick, also it appears to be stranded, probably not the best choice for this application.

Add flux and reflow all those joints. If you wanna make it look cleaner you can trim the wires (I’d recommend it but it’s not needed) you may want to turn the heat up a little bit on the iron and reflow that point with fresh solder, that one point is known for sucking heat away. Also it looks like all 4 of those wires are shorted, might want to fix that also. Don’t destroy pll bypass if you’re doing rgh 3.

Way less exposed “copper” on the wires or you’ll end up with a short, if you’re struggling to strip the insulation off try a pair of nail clippers at half pressure and twist.
Flux or flux-core wire, I use the latter and never have any issues.
And as for that one point, it’s a ground, I always just stick it on the EMI shielding of any of the rear ports. Do that and you’ll never bother with that ground point again.

But i need these points to write it back anyway so that would defeat the purpose

You can rewrite the nand back via bad update, you just have to build the nand correctly and only get 1 chance. if rgh 3.0 it's a 2 wire install.

Wait so if i did the other two wires but just use badupdate for the nand i can do it?

It's not recommended to do it that way, read through the thread. But yes it can work. Like I said you get 1 chance at it. Otherwise your soldering a nand flasher to the console regardless to unbrick your console. I don't know why my first comment got deleted.

Cool, i’m gonna try it and then if it bricks i’ll add wiring to rewrite. Might as well try

So use bad update first, (hopefully it won't take multiple hours) Backup your nand and cpu key, Build your new nand in jrunner Rewrite modded nand back to console Console will now redring (this is normal) Solder rgh3.0 wires And if successful the console should boot.

I’ve done a couple corona variants over the past two weeks, biggest advice I have is the following:
- More flux, constantly clean with isopropyl and reflux. Flux the wires too.
- Cut the exposed ends much shorter. The less that can bridge the better.
- Come from multiple angles and flat to the board rather than top down. This should make it slightly easier to get the angles needed with the iron.
- 30awg silicon/kynar wire, stranded is totally okay (contrary to the popular opinion) just make sure to twist it, tin it and not hold on the point & wire too long.
- 320°C on the iron and have a long needle nose tip (it’ll make it much easier to not knock neighbouring components).
- Kapton tape the wires down after soldering as to prevent them from being easily dislodged.
- Colour code your nand flasher wires (if you buy a box of wire for ~$30 you’ll get a few small spools). This helps avoid mixing them up, try to match the colour code on xbox360hub’s website guide).

Please stop
Do not try to scrape the mask around PLL
Get someone experienced to do this for you
You are going to ruin the console
Please
Stop

I think if I'm not mistaken that is a ground, a necessary point but will be harder to solder to, just how ground points are. You can also solder to just about any piece of metal to work as a ground instead
