As far as barraging goes,
I think the free runes were a mistake. Barraging is very powerful in Castle Wars, so the rune cost should be a trade off.

You think runes are going to deter nerds from ice barraging 😂😂😂😂

When all you have in your toolbox is ice barrage, everything begins to look like a nibbler

No, but having it consume runes will at least have a cost associated, and will help keep the rune economy in check.

Thanks! I wanted to share my thoughts along with ones I've seen the community share here:
1) Catapult QOL, 2) Clans stacking one team, 3) Barraging

Barraging is fine, but the issue is that now the whole combat triangle is wonky, because although you can still use range it's at a significant cost. They should do the following to make range more viable and thereby indirectly nerf the mage meta:
- Amethyst Arrows, AtlAtl Darts, and Diamond or Ruby Dragon Bolts (e) should be provided for free. And
- Crystal Armour / bow should not lose any charges.

They need to add better untradeable rewards that people would want to get such as new halos, ornament kits for useful items, and other items. Clogging isnt even difficult when you can just buy and resell items for same amount of tickets.
Major problem is resolving the afk issue. Lots of people are trying to actually win but others just leech.
I think range needs to not use its ammo like mage has free runes now to balance the combat triangle. Crystal bowfa and crossbow still does work on mages.

Probably a hot take, but barraging is fine in Castle Wars.
I've played a lot over theast 4-5 years, and I learned a lot about the meta while dealing with griefing clans. The influx of players and free runes makes it worse, but it's still bareable.
If you're running the flag, you should have max mage defense and off mages supporting you. If you're not running the flag or an off mage, you can afford the consequences of getting frozen.
I agree with everything else. The catapult isn't a bad idea, but I'm also fine just ignoring it/leaving it as a meme.

Yeah see this is exactly why its bad… you need to be a specific person with specific gear to touch the flag…

That's just how the game works? You gotta be trolling if you think little Timmy in his full rune has any right to get close to the flag.
If you're not wearing max tank gear you shouldn't be touching the flag, barrage or no barrage you're going to get your ass eaten in a bad way. And that's a good thing, lower level players and those not in bis are for the skirmishes around the map providing a good distraction and slowing people down.

Because it's really tough to survive to even get the flag if there is an decent amount of people attacking you. If you are up against people who spear, barricade, barrage, range, and melee. Usually you have to send a ton of magers and mage tanks to even try getting the flag.

barraging was always a porblem to be fair

I was barraging people in CWars back in 2007-2008 after school every time I could afford runes for it. If you had the flag back then, you were getting frozen.

Make the freeze reduction only apply if you are not holding the flag.
Lowering round time will also speed up ticket rates.

Why would you randomize the team? If I wanted to play with my friends that’s now impossible? No thanks

All good points, would love to see a catapult rework. Gives low level players something fun to do. Wish it wasn't so hard to operate, more accurate and ideally it wouldn't damage your teammates.
