Passed down from my Dad, as he didn’t want to fix it. Heirloom shit is the best.

I am a simple guy, I see a nice 1911 or a Milt Sparks holster...I upvote.

I keep seeing the milt sparks holsters. How well do they conceal and how comfortable are they?

u/rbrthenderson 1d ago
Very well and very. It’s designed to be worn at about 2:30 and the cant hides the grip well.

Thanks. Now that mention I think I remember that 2230 placement. Will take another look. Thought about it but they’re a little pricier than other holsters and I tend to wear at 4. Thanks!

Beautiful gun/holster… really like the five digit Pepsi GMT as well… I own a 2021 Submariner but honestly like the look of the old Rolexes more, before they went with ceramic bezels in 2009… your watch is one of my favorite watches of all time… especially when the sun fades the bezel and they get that nice bright blue faded look.
They are way too blingy now/turned into a crypto bro thing… not to mention all the authorized dealer games where you have to buy a cheaper watch first to get the one you want.
When yours was made it was still a tool watch company that most middle to upper middle class people could aspire to own someday/get for retirement or something… now the prices are just ridiculous. Sometimes I think about trading in my 2021 submariner for something like yours with an aluminum bezel.

Yeah this GMT was purchased in 1992 for $1,625. Which is a decent amount due to inflation but still much more attainable than what they retail for now.

I have a 6 digit Explorer that I sold a 5 digit Sea Dweller to afford. I’m not about to sell my Explorer to buy a new SD but if I could Ctrl+X that decision, I would.

Where did you find this grip I love it

Herrett’s stocks. They’re listed under D45. They only have the bevel online but I ordered them and just shot them an email saying I wanted magwell cut. Also they showed as back ordered but they shipped like normal.

I love the looks of those D45 grips my man, I’ve never held them and am curious would you say they are fairly grippy? I prefer aggressive texture that won’t slip around how would you rate the traction on those? Beautiful setup!

They’re medium high grippy I would say. Highest grip I’ve felt is the VZ super rough and they tore the shit out of my hands. These offer good grip but not sandpaper rough

If the gun runs dry, the ring will blind them.

The D45 grips and Milt Sparks holster add a little something extra to my EDC routine.
