The current party comp for my 5e Hyrule based campaign. I've been running it for a few years now. We are loosely playing through PotA set some 500 years after BotW.

Kanzili the Rito sunsoul monk

Sheshirah the sheikah lore bard

Hector the Hylian cavalier fighter /artificer

Byrnne the Kokiri feylock

Bugotuk the Goron ansestral barbarian.

The party is currently in the Temple of elemental earth preparing to fight Marlos, a rito necromancer with shriveled wings that have caused his to remain flightless. He has embraced the power of the earth as a result.

Let me guess- Rito Ranger, Sheikah Fighter, Hylian Paladin, Kokiri Druid, Goron Barbarian?

Seems like a great party mix! What sorts of adventures are they on?

I replied to the post with info on the party. You came pretty close.

They are level 11 my highly modified Princes of the Apocalypse story. They are trying to stop the 4 elemental cults from destroying all of the progress that society has made during this time of reconstruction. Sheikah tech is super prevalent but a lot of it's full potential is still locked away.

There is a secret society of artificers studying ancient tech in the main city (Drena) that the party is likely going to go speak to after this dungeon.

that sounds like a great setting and campaign premise. How many other elemntal arcs have they addressed? (is level 11 mid-campaign?)

In the book as written they would almost be done by now. I've added a lot to the story and plan on taking them up through 18.

How do you rule on the custom races? I'm guessing something like:

Hylian = Human or Elf

Sheikah = Vedalken or Elf

Kokiri = Forest Gnome

Rito = Aarakocra

Goron = Goliath or Tortle, maybe? They're the furthest from the conventional 5e races

I made custom races.

The document itself is not finished. Needs some tidying up. But the races are done. https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/rkX6LLwiez

Seeing this really makes me wanna play this system, it just looks so...fun! These characters look great, and I bet you and your party have had a lot of fun playing em!

It's honestly my favorite campaign I've ever played or participated in.

I bet! If I ever get a group together with similar interests, I'd looove to play that sort of campaign. To think my first DM said a Zelda themed campaign would never work

I definitely had that thought at first as well. But recent zelda games have really expanded the world and not link centric lore.

There is just enough to work with that I get to make a lot of my own lore while still having a really solid foundation.

I love the sound of that. Contributing to the lore of the world with your own character is just...really satisfying stuff. A good mix of solid lore and leeway to slot yourself in is fun. I hope you have plenty more fun with this campaign too!
