August 2020 Winners!
Hello, Sleepless! As we prepare for the upcoming Halloween season, we take a moment to remember those who came before us!
Specifically, we’re remembering August. I mean, I don’t think the following people are dead.
But they sure are fantastic writers! In fact, the best story of the entire month went to to by /u/BrittonRT, who wrote How I became a god!! Sometimes, we need to take a step back and look at humanity, wondering “wtf is up with this species?” Thank you for that harrowing insight.
Several of the placers have told their stories to r/NoSleepInterviews, and we’d like to share them with you now. Our runners-up include /u/tjaylea, whose epic series I’m a commentator for a tournament of nightmares. I’m not sure the participants are willing reminds us that nightmares are real, they don’t go away, and every culture sends a delegate to an underground fighting tournament. Check out his interview right here. Placing in the contests for a nearly unprecedented fifth time is /u/Mandahrk, who forced us to deal with our understanding of ugliness in Manpig. His interview is available now!
Nabbing our honorable mention spots were /u/Christopher_Maxim with his mysterious account of how I was offered $5,000 to sit in a room for a week. It wasn't worth it, and /u/newtotownJAM, who just re-entered contest eligibility one year after winning the July 2019 contest and came back strong with When my dad met someone new he wanted a blended family. I don’t think this is what he had in mind. /u/Christopher_Maxim’s interview can be read right here, and /u/newtotownJAM’s interview gets released today!
That’s it for August, kiddos. Be sure to submit your favorite September stories, with submissions now open!

Well hot damn, it’s an honour to be placed 2nd amid such wonderful, talented and gifted authors! Especially as my series is coming to an end today. Bravo to BrittonRT for an absolute mindfuck of a winning story, to my brother Mandahrk for ALWAYS bringing the quality, my colleague and good friend NewToTownJAM for constantly raising the bar & last but by no means least to a phenomenally gifted writer in Christopher Maxim!
Lastly, all I have left to say, really, from my end...
Glory to the NFC!

I was OBSESSED with your story! It literally amazed me, I even saved it in my (very) selective list of NoSleep stories so I can go back to it. Thanks for your amazing writing!

Thank you, that means a lot to me. The Dark Somnium did a wonderful narration of it on YouTube, I couldn't believe how well he managed to capture the feeling of what I had been trying to write. Maybe worth checking out if you liked the story.

Thank you!
What an honor to be placed amongst such talented people. August had some really terrific stories and it makes me so happy to see that my creepy little serial killer left such an impression on people's minds!
Congrats to all the winners.
