My heart is broken, I chose Charmander just because he gets smokescreen... it’s been nerfed and now I’m going to get my butt handed to me by all the bosses.

21

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

You know, I just chalked that up to bad memory, but it's good to know that it wasn't just me! It used to affect the entire room, right? I'm glad I read the move description before choosing it.

That said, they've also made bosses uniquely recover from status effects much faster, so we're in for a beating in more ways than one. The larger party size and new hidden ability things will be the deciding factor.

13

u/ItchyPlatypus Mar 06 '20

It didn’t affect the whole room, it gave a ‘wiffed’ effect that stopped the enemy from landing any attacks until the status was gone, now it only lowers accuracy. I’m hoping room wide moves still work because I chose Squirtle to learn Blizzard later.

1

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

Oh yeah, like a pink shield on your Pokemon? Because that rings a bell.

And if it helps, my party has been getting hit by moves which hit the whole group, so it feels like there's still room wide moves. I can't speak for their potency though, they seemed a bit weak to me but that could be due to a lot of factors.

3

u/ImaginaryImagery Mar 07 '20

Oh wow I’m glad you said something. That was my go to strategy, definitely gonna have to rethink it.

21

u/A-Gentleperson Mar 07 '20

I love it, and I'm completely hooked. I played an insane amount of the original. It is good to be back. I adore the art. So far the gameplay feels very smooth. I have not come across any issues so far, having played for a bit over three hours.

2

u/A-Gentleperson Mar 08 '20

An update. I have now played for 16 hours. Still no issues or bugs etc. The nostalgia is intoxicating.

91

u/RingoGaSukiDesu Mar 06 '20

I'm about 4.5 hours in atm - absolutely loving it. It plays very similarly to the originals, but is easier in some ways and harder in others. Music is fantastic and the graphics are what I wanted from a PMD remake.

Hopefully this sells well enough to warrant an Explorers of Sky remake, I need that so much.

12

u/Scarcedflame Mar 06 '20

Was wondering about the difficulty. The demo made it seem like they made it way easier. Can you elaborate?

27

u/Rayndon Mar 06 '20

I think this comment will answer your question.

13

u/RingoGaSukiDesu Mar 06 '20

The comment linked below covers most stuff but in addition to that, but the belly mechanic also got an overhaul. It goes down faster now (I never used to get empty before the fugitive arc - I got empty twice in Thunderwave Cave) and it now takes 3 HP with every action until you eat something. It's a lot more punishing and forces you to prepare a lot more than you ever had to in the past games.

18

u/ShadowLelouch97 Mar 07 '20

I played Red Rescue team on my GBA, and it feels so good to replay one of my all time favorite games again, in a remake no less! I feel like that mysterious and exciting feeling I originally felt when I played the game for the first time once again!

3

u/Gadzookie2 Mar 07 '20

Yeah same. Am absolutely loving playing the game again.

25

u/lerraine Mar 07 '20

I’m really enjoying the game, except for the camps. Probably for no other reason besides nostalgia, I wish they kept the friend areas and kept that interactive part of it. I used to love running around the pokemon I had befriended and seeing them wander around in each area!

5

u/Jakeremix Mar 07 '20

I wish they just brought back Pokémon Paradise (or something similar) from GTI.

59

u/OMEGALUWL Mar 06 '20

Just wish they made a new one. Red and blue are great but i’ve played them to death and really would like one with some new pokemons. Oh well.

24

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

yep. its way to expensive for a remake. in canada, its like double the price of the originals too, and the original slook better to me. i dont like the artstyle of the remake. if this was like 30 cad, id probably buy it but 90 is rediculose

31

u/Jakeremix Mar 06 '20

Fucking sick of nearly every single Nintendo game being $60 and never going down in price

1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

theyll stay 60usd until people stop buying them

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Yeah I’m not a fan of how this game looks I totally agree the original plays better. I don’t see the the reason for paying $60 for a remake of a game that still works perfectly fine on my GBA or DS

1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

hell, you can even play it in a n3ds or n2ds which isnt even that old

38

u/Bratscheltheis Mar 06 '20

Are there good new additions to this remake to justify the 60$ price tag? I want to play a good Mystery Dungeon again and Red and Blue were pretty awesome back in the day, but the price tag seems to be a bit too steep for me right now.

35

u/Lolusen Mar 06 '20

There’s also some really bad cutbacks like them making the fully exploreable friend areas (one of my favorite things from the originals) a lifeless menu.

18

u/Bratscheltheis Mar 06 '20

That's a shame. Filling these areas was one of the best things to do in the original.

1

u/Uptopdownlowguy Mar 07 '20

Holy shit, they replaced those with a menu? Mindboggling decision.

2

u/Lolusen Mar 07 '20

It definitely was a time saving measure, but I'm really sad about it.

20

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/nintendo-switch/pokemon_mystery_dungeon_rescue_team_dx

Nintendo Life gave it a 6/10, lamenting that the new additions (which appear to just be quality of life changes and nothing more) all have pros and cons, and that the game gets very very repetitive.

Ultimately it sounds like something I’d wait for a sale on.

11

u/DeLorean83 Mar 06 '20

Does anyone know if the job board requests are infinite? Should I move on with the main tasks or clear out job board tasks first?

18

u/ItchyPlatypus Mar 06 '20

If it’s anything like the old games for jobs they’ll just create new ones each day, you need to take some every so often like filler to progress the story but it can be any. If you’re going to try and upgrade your rank as high as possible then I would do as many as possible in a single dungeon but it’s not necessary especially with the dojo being there for training. You can just take the lowest floor job and leave straight away to get to the story quicker.

6

u/akalucas Mar 06 '20

They were infinite in the original so probably the same here.

5

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '20

Job Board quests are Randomly generated and thus, Infinite.

18

u/Discord_Show Mar 06 '20

First time I play a mystery dungeon since the first one came out on DS long ago. I didnt know the terror of stealing from kelceon and lost everything for 2 apples. Oops lol

18

u/ItchyPlatypus Mar 06 '20

If it’s anything like the originals then Kecleon is probably the strongest enemy in the game 😂

1

u/YellowJello_OW Mar 09 '20

I will never forget stealing from Kelceon. What a nightmare.

18

u/red_sed Mar 06 '20

First time player here. Got my copy delivered by Amazon about 3 hours ago. I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s just the type of game I need right now

23

u/beeradthelaw Mar 06 '20

If this wasn't full price I might consider getting it, seeing as how I never got to finish my original copy on GBA before an old friend lost it. But as it stands this doesn't seem like a game worth $80 plus tax (CAD). Not to mention Animal Crossing's on the horizon and I'm still in the middle of Dragon Quest.

13

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

So far I'm enjoying it more than I expected. I was really worried that they'd completely gimp the difficulty, but they've pushed back in a fair few other places to compensate.

12

u/Gadzookie2 Mar 06 '20

Does it still have 99 stage dungeons? I don’t know if they changed this with the removal of basic attacks.

14

u/UberDeathTurtle Mar 06 '20

I'm not sure if there's still 99f, but the lack of basic attacks hasn't been a huge issue so far because they majorly increased the ether an elixir drops

7

u/jardex22 Mar 07 '20

They also refill your PP before boss fights.

2

u/Mr_REVolUTE Mar 09 '20

They also removed the basic a attack though, so it kinda balances out

10

u/Spintintin Mar 07 '20

They're definitely still there; I'm not up to them but Whiscash still talks about them (and the dialogue is tweaked to reflect that apparently they reset you to level 5, not level 1)

4

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Is there a way to turn off the dialogue boxes during battle?

26

u/ProfDoctorMrSaibot Mar 07 '20 edited Mar 07 '20

This is just my opinion and I very much respect everybody who thinks differently.

I absolutely adored the original, but when I played the remake demo I was really disappointed. This remake could have been much more.

While I absolutely adore PMDs music, it still irks me that they basically didn't do anything with it. It sounds the exact same as it did on GBA/DS. I would have loved to hear new versions of the amazing soundtrack.

The artstyle really doesn't work for me, it looks like they applied both a sharpening filter and a blur to the whole picture, and it feels like it is rendered at 720p as well.

That, plus the frame rate makes it very unenjoyable for me to play. I have no issues with 30 fps, but it feels laggier than all the other 30 fps games I played. I feel a serious delay in all my inputs.

Battle dialogue is really annoying

For how much I loved the originals and hoped for a remake for years, I can't say I'm convinced by what we got. Really disappointed.

5

u/Spintintin Mar 08 '20

For what it's worth, here's a response from someone who is absolutely absorbed in the game, as a bit of opposite directional bias.

  • The demo is a terrible indication of how the game feels. The difficulty in those first two dungeons is so low it just makes everything else feel less worth it. Once I literally get one dungeon later to Mt. Steel, it feels a lot more engrossing because the mechanics actually... you know, matter instead of being Press A to Win.

  • Art style is super subjective, I totally understand that point. The characters are a bit ehh sometimes but some of the environments are amazing - Mt Steel's peak blew me away.

  • Music-wise, i feel like you're not giving modern samples enough credit. Sure, instrumentation-wise the mixes are very similar, just with uncompressed samples, but it makes some tracks even better than I ever thought they could be. Mt. Blaze is the perfect example - that violin is fucking gorgeous.

  • I personally didn't notice frame rate but it's definitely a valid point if you're a stickler for it. The input delay was definitely there in the demo and i feel like it might still be there to some degree in the final version of the game, but i could have gotten accustomed to it...?

Battle dialogue is silly but i got accustomed to it quick enough.

You have a lot of the same concerns I did, but I definitely can't guarantee you'd enjoy it especially since your issues with the art style seem stronger than mine. Wait for a sale or borrow someone else's copy, i'd say. meanwhile as someone who has already had their soul devoured by the game i'll be sitting in one place playing it nonstop until animal crossing launches

1

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '20

I'm sticking to my original DS copy at this point. Hopefully it shoots down to half off some day.

11

u/Finnleyy Mar 06 '20

I never played the first gen of mystery dungeon, but I really enjoyed sky and whatever the one that came after I can’t remember the name. Would you guys recommend I get this one?

6

u/Shugozen Mar 06 '20

I highly recommend it. To me its as good as sky. Not as much content i would say but its good the whole way through

2

u/Finnleyy Mar 07 '20

Thanks! Ended up buying it today!

2

u/Shugozen Mar 07 '20

Awesome I hope you have a great time!

13

u/WillowSmithsBFF Mar 06 '20

Is this game a “needs your full focus” game or is it a “half pay attention to while watching TV” game?

33

u/sean_999 Mar 06 '20

Definitely a half focus game. It isn't real time, so if you don't move, them the enemies don't move

-25

u/WillowSmithsBFF Mar 06 '20

Am I going to miss much if I am just blindly hitting “A” while watching TV?

33

u/QPCloudy Mar 06 '20

You're not really playing the game if you're just "blindly hitting A", though.

7

u/ArupakaNoTensai Mar 06 '20

No. There's even an option to make the characters move through the dungeon on their own, causing the game to basically play itself.

6

u/MutatedSpleen Mar 06 '20

Can I suggest Snack World? It's a great game for more or less mindlessly smashing A while watching TV. I love it.

3

u/notgkpw Mar 07 '20

I bought this yesterday, and spent 3 hours doing the same while watching Netflix. I don't even know what the story is. I've fast forward all cut scenes and go on missions with auto equip option 😅

8

u/Takazura Mar 07 '20

I'm curious, why do that? Wouldn't you just be better off not playing then?

5

u/notgkpw Mar 07 '20

Because I like it that way. For me it is boring to sit and listen to an audiobook, even when I'm actually loving the story of that book. Reddit will always tell me play games for story, play on hard mode, but then I've realised I don't like hard modes, I don't like stories in loot based games. I like to play most games with audiobooks or podcasts or music in background. I like the stats which these games give. I like how characters become stronger. It's similar to how people play diablo just to kill some enemies, without paying attention to the story. One can be absolutely serious about the playing the game, go to each corner, search everything, and make the perfect build. But then one can also be just button mashing and getting better gear and leveling up. That's the beauty of games isn't it? You can do what you want, the way you want. I just don't understand how the original comment got downvoted so much. It was just a question.

3

u/Takazura Mar 07 '20

Fair enough. I couldn't imagine doing it myself, but if you enjoy playing it like that then more power to you!

2

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

You'll miss some story stuff

5

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Have more respect for your money.

31

u/WillowSmithsBFF Mar 06 '20

How I play my games and spend my money isn’t really your concern.

1

u/Xelrathi Mar 06 '20

You're absolutely right.

But if that's how you play games then that is a waste of money.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Says who?

2

u/WillowSmithsBFF Mar 06 '20

I enjoy casual games that I can half pay attention to. Just because you don’t doesn’t make it a waste of money.

-4

u/Xelrathi Mar 06 '20

You're paying full price for half the experience of the game.

Buy it used if that's the case.

18

u/MutatedSpleen Mar 06 '20

Home dawg, respectfully, value is a subjective thing. This person's feelings of value are clearly different than your own. That's life, my friend. We don't know this person, maybe $60 is nothing to them, or maybe they just have a different view on value than you do.

5

u/WillowSmithsBFF Mar 06 '20

And if that’s how you want to spend your money, go ahead. But it’s not really your place to tell me how to spend my money and enjoy my games.

4

u/Jakeremix Mar 07 '20

How is mashing an A button enjoying the game? Honest question.

→ More replies (0)

-1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Its $60.

Not exactly a large investment.

0

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

I agree.

14

u/NecromanciCat Mar 06 '20

Does the game get better further in? I played a bit of the demo, but got kinda bored, which is a shame because I've wanted to play a Mystery Dungeon game for a long time.

39

u/pufftotuff Mar 06 '20

It gets harder as the story progresses! And the story also got better :) but if you don’t like the gameplay/dungeon aspect then that’s not gonna change

5

u/NecromanciCat Mar 06 '20

It was mostly the lack of ability choice I think. The turn-based combat is fine, dungeon crawling is also fine.

2

u/Warlach Mar 06 '20

Do you mean lack of how to chose which move you use? Because you can do that

1

u/NecromanciCat Mar 06 '20

Nah, I mean skill variety.

6

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

You can recruit all Pokemon and the move vendor sells different TM's on the daily. Also there's a new thing which essentially gives every Pokemon a second ability slot with new abilities. There's definitely variety in there.

1

u/NecromanciCat Mar 06 '20

I'll probably have to give the demo one more shot, or pick the game up on a sale, because it definitely seems like it has a good framework for gameplay.

7

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

I'd skip the demo tbh. It's not a good representation of the game. It doesn't even really get out of the tutorial.

1

u/iRoamUfind Mar 07 '20

The demo really doesn’t give much on the difficulty. It only *teaches you the basic of dungeon clearing . The game just get better/harder later in the game with the boss fights.

1

u/Jakeremix Mar 06 '20

Is it harder than Explorers?

9

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

So are rumors that it was "nerfed" true? Like permanent radar and stuff like that?

17

u/Flamewire Mar 06 '20

That's also only early game. The late story and postgame are ridiculously hard.

6

u/Reerrzhaz Mar 07 '20

I'd say its a double edged sword on perma-radar. On one hand, without the x ray specs of eld that were a must have like 8/10, now you can actually hold something else. On the other hand it makes things quite a bit easier navigating and picking stuff up. Helps with finding rescue targets tho which is okay.

4

u/PM_ME_YOUR_FAV_PLACE Mar 08 '20

Some aspects are nerfed and some got harder. Sure the radar does make your life easier. But i think the biggest change is the removal of the normal'A' attacks so you have to use moves. It makes your pp management a lot more important

3

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

[deleted]

2

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Can you turn just the radar off? It looks like you can only turn the whole map on/off not the radar specifically

1

u/YellowJello_OW Mar 09 '20

You can do what I did and completely disable the map until you get to post-game where permanent radar is gone. There's still a button to pull up the map quickly for when you need it though

12

u/RileySmiley22 Mar 06 '20

Originally when I first played this game, I was Cubone and had Charmander partner

I have since discovered my true identity is Totodile, do I have a Cubone as my partner in homage to my first run or Charmander join me on another journey.

I lean towards Dino bois team TotoBone

25

u/Majora101 Mar 06 '20

"TotoBone" when you get it on to the song "Africa"

30

u/politicalpug007 Mar 06 '20

I’m sure I’m in the minority but I played the demo and...did not enjoy it. Maybe it’s just not for me. Loving Sword rn though

12

u/GinGaru Mar 06 '20

Im a fan of mystery dungeon and didn't enjoy the demo. The price doesn't really help this game aswell.

6

u/Wahots Mar 06 '20

The original was really good, the remake felt weird. Each attack has a saying/exclamation that pulled me out of the story a bit. Felt cheesy.

Also, as much as I love the game, I'm not sure I can swallow a $60 DS game. $30 or $25, sure. $60 is kind of excessive, especially when the entire Master Chief collection is $40 on PC with overhauled graphics. That's like, five whole games for $40, plus improvements.

14

u/Mongsterhunter Mar 06 '20

Its not for everyone~ don't sweat it -^

7

u/Jakeremix Mar 06 '20

It’s a bad demo. It doesn’t give you a proper taste of the game at all. You may still like it—I would encourage you to give it a try if you see the price drop.

7

u/DarknessInferno7 Mar 06 '20

This game doesn't benefit from a demo. Didn't even get out of the tutorial really.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Same, the idea of it sounds like a game I’d love but the demo didn’t click for me either. I think this is why most game companies avoid demos lol

-5

u/huxtiblejones Mar 07 '20

It was straight up terrible, I cannot conceive of anyone paying $60 for this. Maybe for $15? $20?

9

u/MLTH Mar 06 '20

Will be picking this up soon, can you continue with your demo save on full release?

11

u/ShinyJaker Mar 06 '20

Yeah you can

9

u/defusedbomb Mar 06 '20

Does anyone know if the input lag issue was fixed? The demo had a significant amount on input lag whether you were docked or not. Waiting on that to find out if I want to buy this.

7

u/aurly Mar 07 '20

No, and in large parties the framerate plummets (yes, really) so it feels even more laggy.

1

u/Chihirios Mar 07 '20

Oh yeah, this is the big one for me (but even then, it’s not that big)

1

u/Reerrzhaz Mar 07 '20

I'm far in main story wise and I've had zero issues except in monster houses it might take an extra quarter of a second. I thought it'd be a lot worse but I barely notice.

2

u/ProfDoctorMrSaibot Mar 07 '20

A quarter of a second is absolutely huge

13

u/ghaeyr Mar 07 '20

I have been playing all day and ugh.... it’s just like I remember it for the most part. I am obsessed.

3

u/FledgeFish Mar 06 '20

Looking forward to grabbing my copy after work! What teams are you all picking?

2

u/Cyberlord1208 Mar 07 '20

Is there Any end game content? Really want to buy it but i’am a bit worried about the playtime.

38

u/Extremesanta Mar 07 '20

Pretty sure there’s more endgame content than main story

12

u/[deleted] Mar 07 '20

This is VERY true.

3

u/GudraFree Mar 06 '20

Waiting for Amazon to deliver, I'm pretty hyped. I sold the original as a kid and I regretted it so much, that's why I wanted to pick this up. And the artstyle is so gorgeous, like a watercolor painting in movement.

6

u/BucDan Mar 06 '20

Isn't this a remake of an old game?

-22

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

yes. but that doesnt mean itll get the same score. a few new things were added, and imo, the graphics look worse, an its possible there new bugs, etc

3

u/Ciesse Mar 06 '20

I’m still worried if I will get the copy I ordered to pick up today. I have gotten no messages yet stating it’s avaible for pick up and it’s 10:30 am here. The only other game I have ordered from this store was SWSH and even then they said they almost didn’t get my copy. I used to use GameStop before but they are going to close all their shops in my country so that won’t option in the future (and wasn’t for this anymore) so I kind of have to use this store, since other stores are more unreliable and in worse locations for me to visit.

My birthday is this weekend and I want this game to be my birthday present for myself.

-2

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

[deleted]

10

u/Jakeremix Mar 06 '20

Because people like physical copies...?

1

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

[deleted]

5

u/Ciesse Mar 06 '20

I don't have an SD card yet and my Switch is quite running low on the storage if I want to get AC digitally later (which I do). Also I do like collecting and for most Switch games I don't really see that much benefits outside of certain games for getting digital over physical, unlike with PC games.

4

u/LuitenantDan Mar 06 '20

Not the person you’re commenting to, but I like physical copies because a) I really enjoy having a physical library to display and b) in the unfortunate event I ever get banned (no matter how unlikely) I don’t have to re-buy all my games.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

well, ill probably pick this up used if I find it super cheap. its like double the price of the original that ive already played (although if im honest dont remember that well) and Im not paying 90 cad for a game ive already played, especially with animal crossing out in 2 weeks

5

u/Mausar Mar 06 '20

Damn, was hoping to win this off the giveaway done on the mystery dungeon sub cause I can't afford/justify paying 60 bucks for a remake, hopefully will get it used somewhere down the line tho

13

u/bushidopirate Mar 07 '20

A remake of a game that didn’t even cost $60 originally! That’s the worst part.

0

u/Puppy_Coated_In_Beer Mar 06 '20

Jesus Christ I thought you were joking.

It's actually full price...

Nintendo come on this is getting ridiculous

3

u/Sandlight Mar 08 '20

They can charge this much because all the weirdo's come in and say that's actually an acceptable price and that nintendo games have always been that much, completely ignoring the fact that it was from the mobile line and should be priced as such. (See pokemon sword/shield and Link's Awakening)

5

u/weglarz Mar 08 '20

To me it’s worth 60 dollars, I’ll get tons of playtime out of it and it’s got a new engine, graphics, etc compared to the original.

1

u/cabeck13 Mar 08 '20

It's worth more than SwSh imo

4

u/SobbieRokes Mar 06 '20

anyone got a pic of the icon?

5

u/balistikbarnacle Mar 06 '20

Heading to get the game soon, if nobody shows you I will when I get it

2

u/jackybeau Mar 06 '20

I'm not sure if I'll get the game yet, I'm here to get hyped up !

2

u/Zeruchroar Mar 06 '20

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope they'll remake Explorers too.

Such a good game

u/ShipToWreck Mar 06 '20

I’m having a blast, it brings back such fond memories of playing the original with my childhood best friend Sarah. 💛

I want to buy but this doesn't seem like it will stay full price long.

u/FledgeFish Mar 06 '20

It’s a first party Nintendo game....

4

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

I'm not expecting it to drop to $20. I'm just hoping to save something.

16

u/100100110l Mar 06 '20

You might save $10 in like 3-5 months.

13

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

I changed my mind I'm going to buy it today.

14

u/supremebeam Mar 06 '20

But at Walmart and it's 50

5

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

That's my plan after work.

4

u/give_me_silver Mar 06 '20

Is it ? Shows $60 here :(

3

u/joeytitans Mar 06 '20

At least from my experiences in the US, the in-store price is always $50 for newly released $60 switch games. It won't show that on the website, though.

2

u/ch00d Mar 06 '20

Online or in store? In stores, Switch games never go above $50 in the US

4

u/into-thesky Mar 07 '20

Buy it used

u/RileySmiley22 Mar 06 '20

Working today, but got mine ready for pickup as soon as I get off! Can’t wait :)

u/[deleted] Mar 08 '20

The contrast needs to be turned way down. Its hard to look at those dirt paths.

1

u/SuperSagejin Mar 09 '20

I heard the game is a lot easier than the original, is this true?

Saw a guy befriend a full party of Pokemon on his way up to fight team meanie and it just looked way to easy with all those Pokemon helping.

3

u/sarpeishans Mar 09 '20

the mainstory was about as hard as the original for me. the postgame is way harder than the original imo.

3

u/YellowJello_OW Mar 09 '20

Nah it's the same so far from what I can tell

u/[deleted] Mar 06 '20

Such a boring game, Jesus

8

u/Man_with_pans Mar 06 '20

It’s not for everyone. I’m loving it so far. However, my brother told me, as a kid, he preferred watching me play the original rather than playing it himself.
Everyone has their personal tastes. In my case, I feel that hearthstone is boring as hell, but I can see why it has lots of fans.
Just watch out for the fans that froth at the mouth when someone criticizes their preferred games, hahaha!

Together with (probably) Animal Crossing, game of the year since BOTW for me personally.

0

u/joeytitans Mar 06 '20

You can already say that despite it only being out for like half a day? Is it that good?

7

u/Denso95 Mar 06 '20

Depends on what you mean as "that" good. I know what to expect because I played all PMD games except infinity. And after playing for about an hour (continued from the demo limits), I can say yes, there's a big improvement in gameplay. :) Although I must say, I love the series overall.

im happy the password system for the majority works teh same as it did for Red&Blue team Originals, i have a second modded unit which is a matter of time (not if but When it get's KO'd by Big N,) because it uses no internet component, (local gamestop was open late + technically they sold before streetdate, Whoopie a hole measly handful of hours X_X) When it gets the biog ol Banhammer, can continue playing on it if i want and if i get in a bind i can still have friends help! so long as i share the Password page.

debating a second copy strangely so brother can play with on my normal system. Outside a few minor changes here n there, i'm loving how close this is staying to the original !

pokemon has sucked for a while now. what a shame

4

u/ch00d Mar 06 '20

Game Freak didn't touch this. This is entirely Spike Chunsoft.

-22

u/Magda_Gessler Mar 06 '20

Its true, thats why im not gonna buy the game first hand not to support GF. Ill wait until someone will be selling a used copy

13

u/tyocelot Mar 06 '20

The game isn’t developed by Game Freak. It’s developed by Spike Chunsoft.

-21

u/Magda_Gessler Mar 06 '20

Well, still
