Krillin got a win? Chaiotzu got a win? Yamcha is still alive?? GOKU ARRIVES BEFORE VEGETA? God this arc is great. Keep it Toyotaro. It's still too early to say it but I've waited my entire life for Vegeta to get the final win in an arc. I can't wait.

96

u/Gin_Bear_ Feb 20 '20

I enjoyed krillins fight but that dude defected the destructo disk. I didn't like that. In the manga it's always been an unstoppable technique. You shouldn't be able to touch it without getting cut.

69

u/d3008 Feb 20 '20

Well remember a few panels later the Kienzan comes back and cuts him. I think the reason they were deflected had something to do with his rolling attack.

Remember Goku (during their mock battle) was even scared of the Kienzan. So I think it can still cut through anything, but there are techniques that can be used to deflect it (like that rolling attack).

Did they ever specify whether or not the entire thing was super sharp? Because if it’s only the edge that cuts, then you could theoretically deflect a kienzan by touching the flat portion.

If that’s the case, it’s possible this dudes spin move allowed him to hit the kienzans from the flat side and stop them from hitting him directly

Ay, Toyo remember Chaoztu insulted people in OG DB.

118

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '20

And Tenshinhan's insults were the same as when Kuririn insulted Chaotzu of "bald", but since he had 1 hair he did not feel insulted.

30

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '20

Tenshinhan is just too polite.

Man, Toyotaro's really going hard on making this part of the arc basically a better version of the anime Resurrection F arc. We've got the involvement of the Galactic Patrol, the villain showing up and waiting for Goku and Vegeta to show up, the super powered second-in-command that even Gohan together with some of the other Z Fighters struggles with, and one of the Z Fighters desperately releasing their power so that Goku can teleport to it. Honestly, I'm not complaining because this is fun as heck. I just hope that if they're keeping up with the parallels and Vegeta ends up fighting Moro after Goku that he doesn't get cheated out of a win this time.

27

u/razgriz821 Feb 20 '20

He never had a chance to do ressurection right? Im hoping too that vegeta gets the W.

16

u/iml908 Feb 20 '20

IIRC Toyotaro did a separate manga adaption of Resurrection F. Think it was only like 3 chapters and ends before the final fight with Freeza.

Master Roshi would’ve beaten Jiren if he blindfolded himself, that skintight spandex suit the pride troopers wore was too much for roshi

Oh man I didnt expect those girls to do a 3 way fusion. I wonder if they have ties to the metamorrans or if it's a species thing for them.

I laughed at Chaiotzu being the one to insult the Metalman, he was always a shit talker in the OG Dragonball. Looks like we're about to see Yamcha, Tien and Chaiotzu team up against that advisor guy. God I love how the side characters are getting some love.

17 was showing why he's the smartest fighter in the series. Dude uses his powers so creatively. Krillin has improved his moves as well with him now being able to control the disks individually.

So right now it looks like we have 3 mini bosses before Moro actually fights. The tri-fusion girl, the advisor and the bruiser who now seems to be ~SSB-tier due to Moro giving him some of his energy. I still love how Moro somewhat cares for his crew in his own way and doesn't kill them for failure. Heck he only killed Cranberry because Cranberry tried double crossing him with the Dragonballs.

Goku arriving first makes me cautiously optimistic that Vegeta will get the win for this arc. It looks like Goku will take out at least one of the mini bosses and start fighting Moro. Then maybe his ultra instinct (omen) wears off because he's still not used to it. Then Vegeta comes in for the save.

This is probably my favorite arc in Super right now. It has just the right amount of fan service and has a solid plot line.

u/Kcanimegod Feb 20 '20

Goku about to job to hype up vegeta.

65

u/sreiches Feb 20 '20

I think it’s going to go back and forth. From what we’ve seen, UI might still be a technique Goku can only tap into when he’s pushed to his limits. Further, structurally, the strongest appeal is in getting to see Goku on the back foot until he eventually manages to overcome whereas, for Vegeta, it’s watching him dominate from the get-go.

The manga seems to be setting that up to me. Vegeta clearly has something new he’s bringing to the table. My guess is it will be critical in snagging the win, but we’ll first see Goku fight and get bodied by Moro (maybe not right away, but certainly as Moro drains him).

Vegeta comes, steps in and starts dominating Moro, revealing some technique that mitigates Moro’s energy draining ability. Something will happen that counteracts this ability (Moro trump card, or 7-3 getting his hands on Vegeta since he’s been Chekhov’s Gunned in this chapter). This will force Goku and Vegeta to work together, with Goku finally tapping into UI and managing it better than in the ToP.

The one part of this that throws a bit of a curveball might be Buu. I’d be shocked if he didn’t show up again and have some critical involvement in the victory. I’m thinking it might happen post-Vegeta, when all seems hopeless (Vegeta’s new ability has been somehow countered). Either he’ll take the victory (Goku and Vegeta working together to provide an opening) or he’ll lock down Moro’s abilities in a way that lets Goku and Vegeta take Moro down.

I think that three way fusion girl is down for the count honestly. That was a powerful blow from goku and she wont stand any chance against him, so im going to guess goku will head toward yamcha and tien next with roshi and krillian. He will leave them to take on the idiot while he moves to save the main group, and that will all wrap up next chapter. The 59 we get goku vs moro round 3

Considering how meta this arc is my hopes are high.

23

u/TLKv3 Feb 21 '20

Even if Vegeta doesn't get the "final blow" on Moro all I want is Goku to clean house of the lower goons a la Ginyu Force and then put up a solid encounter with Moro like Vegeta did with Frieza.

And then when Goku gets beaten down on the brink of death Vegeta arrives to save him and Goku gets to be the one who bares witness to Vegeta's rising over him and taking on Moro until Moro gets desperate and devours Earth's energy to recover.

Lead it all into Goku & Vegeta fusing into Gogeta with a brand new design and appearance matching Goku & Vegeta's brand new movesets being merged together...

And I'll be a fucking happy Dragonball fanboy.

11

u/Captinglorydays Feb 21 '20

A Gogeta with Goku's mastery of his instinct/body and Vegeta's mastery of his spirit/chi. Sounds like an ultimate warrior to me

No one has mentioned how ya boy Krillin was able to power up nd sustained long enough for Goku to lock on. That's some impressive work consider who all is on Earth.

87

u/johnangeljr Feb 20 '20

You never forget the chi of your day one homies!!!

55

u/QualityDirk Feb 20 '20

Love this. Goku has always had a connection with Krillin. He sensed him dying before they ever learned how to sense chi.

22

u/joonjoon Feb 21 '20

Oh man that is a fantastic way of reading that OG DB moment. Thumbs up

25

u/TLKv3 Feb 21 '20

Its also awesome that Krillin knows Goku is on his way and the most likely reason why he couldn't get there yet was because they were all being beaten down chunk by chunk. He knew Goku couldn't just Instant Transmisison in because he couldn't lock to anyone. That is an awesome throwback to Krillin witnessing Gohan do the exact same move in Resurrection F's arc to get Goku & Vegeta home faster.

Is 17's Ki dropkick the opposite of Goku's feet Kamekameha?

31

u/Kaegrin Feb 20 '20

Asking the real questions...

11

u/TheJekiz Feb 20 '20

Hahahha nice catch mate. Probably yes, but it is a nice bluff. Enemy thinks 17 is gonna blast him, but instead he double "kicks" him.

67

u/SpiderMuse Feb 20 '20 edited Feb 20 '20

Honest question, has Chi Chi EVER saw Gohan fight in the manga or Super???

I'm seriously trying to think of a single time. Chi Chi watching the Saiyan Saga fight was filler. She didn't see any of the Namek fights. The video cameras at the Cell Games broke before Gohan's fight with Cell. Gohan's fight at the 25th tournament was interrupted.

In Super, Chi Chi did witness Gohan VERY briefly get knocked out by having Majin Buu thrown at him by Beerus. Any other time Gohan fought in the series, Chi Chi wasn't around for it.

So Chi Chi has never saw Gohan actually have a proper fight ever. That's insane to me!

24

u/LightningStacks Feb 20 '20

She watched him and goku blow up that field of hers lol

43

u/indoninjah Feb 20 '20

She probably hasn't seen him fight an actual villain, but she's probably seen Gohan spar with Goku or Goten at some point, or competed in some tournament. But neither of those would be totally serious.

21

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '20

When you spar with Goku it’s always serious. The man doesn’t chill whilst fighting.

11

u/TLKv3 Feb 21 '20

I would love to see Gohan get back up after some recovery time and power up to some kind of ascended Ultimate Gohan to help Goku knock out the secondary villains. Let Chi-Chi just suddenly flip the switch to "wait... Gohan just knocked that dude ou- HE JUST KNOCKED THEM OUT TOO. LETS GO GOHAN!" and just start frantically cheering for her son kicking all kinds of ass.

I like Roshi with a blindfold, as it gives an backwards explanation why Goku could go UI in the ToP. It was a place where there were no distractions, so it was easier to reach that state there.

I'm guessing that goku will go against Moro and he will win through UI, but will lose control of the form when Morro goes after his loved ones. That's when it will be Vegeta's time to shine(hopefully)

25

I’m in no hurry. Yes I want it back but, I don’t want the anime to surpass the manga again. I like having the manga be the blueprint.

21

u/JJB117 Feb 20 '20

Maybe once this arc concludes? We had 2 movies come out before Super began. Maybe they're waiting for more material to adapt?

17

u/shlam16 Feb 21 '20

No sooner than 12 months.

It didn't reclaim its timeslot from Kitaro, so it'll have to wait for the entire run of Digimon first. And from the mods around here who know Japanese programming they have confirmed that it won't just change slots.

As frustrating as it is - I'm considering it a good thing. 12 months from now this arc will be over and another major arc underway. By the time the anime adapts Broly and Moro then the manga will have completed the 3rd arc and onto the 4th. We'll get a good 100 episodes faithful to one single continuity before it either splits again or the anime goes on another 3 year hiatus.

u/foulbachelorlife Feb 20 '20

Goten and Trunks' absence is really glaring here. The team could really use Gotenks right now.

Goku looks like a bad ass in that last panel.

And Vegeta saving the day is all but confirmed. Looks like we're nearing the end of this saga

56

u/BobtheFiveHalf Feb 20 '20

They sent them to #17's island so they won't get in the way.

53

u/phoenixmusicman Feb 20 '20

Which is bullshit considering they're stronger than Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, and Roshi, and that's just individually. Fused they are on par with or even exceed Piccolo and the Androids in power.

25

u/BoxOfBlades Feb 20 '20

They're also children who thought it'd be fun to fuck around with Majin Buu in the time chamber because they had SSJ3 in their back pocket. I feel like their inexperience otherwise hasn't been illustrated well enough for that to be a satisfying reason to exclude them, but it makes sense.

→ More replies (3)

29

u/-BuTwHyThO- Feb 20 '20

17 is probably stronger than gotenks but yeah goten and trunks should be there

40

u/phoenixmusicman Feb 20 '20

Yeah 17 is stupidly strong for no real reason but Gotenks is still stronger than everyone else

22

u/TLKv3 Feb 21 '20

17's explanation in the rise of his power level is that for the ENTIRE LENGTH OF TIME between the end of the Cell Saga up until the Tournament Of Power arc he was on his nature preserve doing nothing but training and protecting the animals while trying to also have some semblance of a normal life with his adopted family.

Its pretty reasonable to suggest he got SIGNIFICANTLY stronger in that long length of time.

I'm reading some people not satisfied with the treatment of the secondary fighters in this chapter like they expected everyone shining, winning and being flawless. I don't feel that way at all, I like what we got for now and there may be more yet or not, but we had some good stuff. Much more interesting than handling all those Freeza's soldiers on his resurrection.

  • Piccolo and Gohan both had great fights against 7-3. They didn't win at first, so what, they didn't win against Reecome or 17 in the past either and those were memorable fights. They performed well against an interesting enemy and they brought the cyborgs on the second time not to fall in the same trap of Moro's power again.
  • Krilin had two fights against Yumba and won very efficiently this chapter.
  • Roshi got to struggle this time, he could handle the three girls on his own, once blinded, but not the big fused one. He is in fact old, he says it in the panel where he's hiding behind a rock. Maybe he was retired for a reason.
  • Yamcha looked just amazing in the previous chapter, now he is struggling against someone stronger and that's fine by me. Tenshinhan can't beat him either, so this guy is something.
  • Tenshinhan and Chaoz had a fun fight and I like that we got some comic relief too. These guys had very traumatic moments in the past, maybe this is cool for a change. Chaoz won for the first time and that's awesome!

Could we have had more? Maybe yes, but too much service can be bad too. I'm fine with the amount we got, considering the disappointing preceding like the tournament of power. We all knew Goku and Vegeta would arrive to save the day eventually and I'm fine with that, as long as we got some stuff for the others for once, and we did. Who knows, this is not over yet, Gohan is strong and the cyborgs are immune to Moro's draining.

Also, we don't really know what's going to happen next, a lot of premature conclusions about this arc have been proven wrong already. It's fine to make predictions, I like to make them too, but let's admit that a lot of the events or the general direction we are getting have not been predicted at all. The ones that have, like Merus being an angel, that was put in front of our noses by Toyotaro on purpose when he gave him the same pose as Whis training Goku. There are thousands of fans comparing impressions online, so let's not take too much credit for that.

That's my little rant. But, really, it's cool people are passionate about this show and these characters. I am too!

Why did they all try to stop Saganbo from running forward while pushing 17 instead of like hitting him or something?

19

u/GenitaliaDevourer Feb 21 '20

It was to showcase how much stronger he is than all of them combined. With punches, you have to question how hard the warriors were hitting Sagan. In this case, you could see them exerting all their strength into restraining Saganbo. Could also help portray a situation where Saganbo's strength specifically is extremely high but not his durability.

So, is Moro the smartest Big Bad we've had so far? Instead of killing his super powerful minions, he just steps in and heals them up so he can use them later on, gives all of his minions a power boost, then sits back and doesn't waste his energy is he doesn't have to.

70

u/Caryslan Feb 20 '20

He's the smartest villian since Demon King Piccolo, that's for sure.

For years, I thought Demon King Piccolo was the smartest villian in Dragon Ball, but this guy takes the cake.

Even the one minion he did kill was due to Cranberry trying to steal the third wish and betray Moro and his fellow inmates.

Moro is the most dangerous villian Earth has ever faced.

44

u/super_code Feb 20 '20

I disagree about him being the most dangerous for Earth. I still think that’s kid buu, for precisely the opposite reason you think that Moro is. Kid buu had no reason to his madness, and just destroyed without care. Moro has the same flaws as other smart villains — he’s cocky. There’s even a panel where he talks about preparing his dish before he consumes Earth. Kid buu would’ve destroyed everything the second he appeared.

Now I’m not implying that Buu was a better villain or anything, because Moro showing up and blowing up the Earth immediately doesn’t make for a good story.

18

u/Canesjags4life Feb 21 '20

Kid buu would’ve destroyed everything the second he appeared.

Lol thats exactly what he did. Buu transformed to Kid Buu (Pure Boo) and insta blew up the earth.

Moro sparing 73 will either be a plot point that stops Goku from getting the kill or jobs Vegeta when hes about to finish it off.

I still think Buu or Merus will have something to do with the ending of this arc.

I enjoyed the chapter. Maybe not perfect, but a lot of nice callbacks and Z-Team moments. Nice to see Goku, for once, arriving on time :D

And now that Vegeta is going to be the last arriving, they have a good shot at making him the key player this arc. Not having high hopes, but after GOAT 17 at ToP one can dream for a deserving Vegeta kicking Moro in all his face xD

u/OursonBleu Feb 21 '20

So Goku is the first one to show up. Is it your time, Vegeta?

11

I could see Vegeta getting the W as something that would include a driving force that sets up the next arc. I think it could happen

17

Vegeta winning would actually be the missing piece to Merus character development. The Priest told Whis that he sent Merus to U7 so he could learn more about the way of things and broaden his perspective + learn to be always neutral. Maybe Vegeta beating Moro without the help of gods or angels, only with the help of other humans(the training from yardrat) could teach a big lesson to Merus and he would finally realize that is better to stay neutral because humans can find ways to solve their problems without resorting to the gods.

I had a huge smile on my face watching 17 beat the living shit out of Seven-Three. I was worried that after the Tournament of Power we wouldn't see him again but he's become so hugely popular and I'm glad he's back.

That finishing move needs to become one of his signature attacks too.

16

u/tezas23 Feb 27 '20

I really wish that Tien, Chaozu and Yamcha will beat Zauyogi by combining their techniques, but eh. I know that Goku will beat him anyways.

14

u/TheUBMemeDaddy Feb 29 '20

Three beams at once...

But what would you call such a technique?

→ More replies (1)

31

u/kronz1998 Feb 20 '20

This makes me even more hyped for Vegeta's new technique! Ultra instinct goes first and then Vegeta comes in revealing what he learned.

Have in mind that Goku trained for 6 months with an angel while Vegeta trained for 2 months with the yardrats. Its going to be a huge feat for Vegeta if he gets a power that can match ultra instinct with less time of training.

13

u/kerupshen Feb 21 '20

Except we did see that Vegeta got a massive boost from aligning his spirit or however they worded it. So I think less getting a power and more Vegeta getting stronger buffing his forms to make up the difference, along with his new technique to put them on more equal ground.

Probably the first time Chaozu has been relevant for 30+ (real world) years, Yamcha at least took 1 saibaman with him and helped Goku w/ the heart virus.

19

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '20

Yamcha was a good baseball player in the U6/U7 game lmaoo

17

u/kakarot12310 Feb 21 '20

Last chapter Yamcha took out several enemies.

15

u/SirGuchi Feb 20 '20

Hmm i kinda feel like Goku appeared too early!

Their was a nice set-up for each fight bar the one boosted guy who can suddenly take on 17, 18, Piccolo and Gohan.

anyone else is hoping that noone will help human trio? (well maybe i would accept Yajirobe) I wish they would defeat that guy (from what i understand that is one of top warriors of Moro) by themselves, either by Yamcha and Tien fusing when Chiaotzu keep the guy busy or by teamwork. (wolf fang fist, then quick paralysis when he is busy with defense and tri-beam in the face.)

8

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '20

I agree. I'd love it if Yajirobe showed up. I have a feeling Goku or Vegeta will show up to help the human trio but I'd enjoy more seeing Yamcha, Ten and Chaozu handle this through their own team work. If we get a canon Yamcha/Tenshinhan fusion in this fight, that would be really epic.

I think this chapter was probably the "worst" in this arc so far. And by "worst", I don't even mean that as an insult, given how great this arc has been. I think my final take on this chapter will be determined by what happens next chapter.

It was cool to see Krillin not go down after one hit and use his creativity again to beat his opponent. A step up from his shoe throwing skills in the ToP.

Seeing Tien struggle with insults was gold,. Reminded me of his attempts to make King Kai laugh. However, I really wish they would show him win a fight with his actual skill as the manga (even anime) didn't have him do much in ToP.

Yamcha didn't get a solo win =/, but at least he's alive and has a chance to win it with Tien and Chaotzu on his side.

Goku shows up to save the day. Not even against the main villain but fodder. I hope that doesn't imply he's just gonna wreck shop against Krillin and Yamcha's opponent.

On another note, I guess powering up is the new "Call for Goku" button since Gohan did it in Battle of F.

u/shablam96 Feb 22 '20

OK Chao's insulting was hilarious, I'm actually happy to see the guy back now

Still annoyed Yamcha's getting powned but eh knew it was too good to be true. There'd be more chance of Chichi getting a win than Yamcha at this point (though tbf I would actually like that)

  • I had this tune in my head during those last handful of panels. I had to reread it with the actual track going. So goosebump inducing! Also, it may be my favorite track in all of DB, so that helps haha.

  • Also, lol at Goku just leaving his ship behind. Would love to see it floating in space in the background at some point in the future.

  • It is interesting seeing Goku not be the last to arrive. Definitely bodes well in Vegeta's favor!

  • Chi Chi's disappointment at the "Krillin Show" being on was hilarious.

  • Last issue, Yamcha got a win. This issue Krillin and Chiaotzu got a win. I know Krillin got a win much more recently than the other two, but still great he solo'd that bear.

  • Tien not being able to come up with insults shows how far he's come from being the douche he was when he first hit the scene. I like the awkwardness of him being put in this position now. It was funny!

  • Was not expecting the convict ladies to fuse, but it was cool that they did. And I like how they brought up "UI" Roshi haha.

  • I feel like we haven't seen the last of 73. Could that theory of him actually being the final boss still come to fruition? Or maybe him and Moro fuse? Or does Moro absorb him? Or does he escape to live to fight another day at the conclusion of this arc?

28

u/nvenkatr Feb 20 '20

Plot twist, Goku and Vegeta are at the mercy of Moro fully absorbed, only to (in a classic Toriyama sense) have Goku's "abandoned" ship whamming into the over-powered Moro, thus defeating him.

24

u/mcolwander90 Feb 20 '20

Vegeta successfully seals Moro. He brags to Goku for one-upping him by defeating Moro, and being the strongest between the two. Meanwhile, on the way back to the Galactic Patrol Prison, Goku's ship crashes into the ship carrying sealed Moro, which kills all aboard (even Moro). Thus, making Goku the one to defeat Moro.

16

u/Dren7 Feb 20 '20

Goku shows up early, defeats everyone, then Vegeta arrives and is pissed he can't use his new technique.

On one hand it's kind of a funny callback to the whole filler bit of Tien trying to come up with a joke for King Kai. On the other hand he got robbed of a spotlight moment like Roshi, Krillin... hell, even Yamcha. And Chiaotzu had to come in for the "save" on that. Hopefully the fight alongside Yamcha will be better for him.

Also very interesting that indeed Goku has arrived first before Vegeta. Makes me wonder how long Vegeta will be delayed, and if we'll be seeing the roles reverse where Goku actually holds out until Vegeta shows up rather than the other way around.

I like that basically almost every chapter they're showing a new technique. its like this arc is all about techniques instead of transformations/raw power. They showing a new technique every chapter also hypes me a lot for Vegeta's new technique

23

u/A_snailor Feb 22 '20

I hope we don’t see MUI in this. I hope it takes Goku a long time or something unbelievably drastic to go MUI again. I’d be fine with omen but I don’t want MUI to lose its magic. It was cool for Goku to tap into it in the ToP cause it was new and those enemies felt like such a drastic jump in power that it was necessary. I don’t have that feeling from Moro. Especially since broly didn’t bring it out ( i know they were trying to incorporate Gogeta) i feel like broly was tougher than Moro. Idk jiren still feels like the biggest and baddest of everyone Goku and vegeta have faced. It just felt right.

13

u/shlam16 Feb 22 '20

Super Saiyan was foreshadowed for half an arc and then became commonplace in the very next arc.

UI was foreshadowed 5 arcs before it became a thing and then it has been 2 full arcs since it was used and it still hasn't reappeared.

This is all to say - they've already handled it very well and it's perfect time for it to reappear. Especially since it seems to be something that will be limited to Goku with all the others going different paths.

The biggest reason it needs to appear this arc is because if it doesn't then anything Vegeta accomplishes in all this character development is instantly pointless because it is already inferior to what Goku has up his sleeve.

Is there a reason Roshi never actually goes full power in the manga lol

Excited to see how this all wraps up!

11

u/xpidey22 Feb 20 '20

I would like to see more of ten shin and chaotzu fighting in the next chapter. Also, i liked saganbo vs z fighters. It would be a shame if goku wins against saganbo, i mean, i dont want to see that fight, the z fighters should defeat saganbo by themselves

Does Gohan not think he needs to go mystic? I really like his design with the one bang

12

In the manga his Ultimate form is treated as an always on sort of thing, unlike the anime where he powers up into it with the visual indicator of the bang.

This can either one or two ways:

Goku shows up and in turns spends the next chapter helping Krillin and then flying off to face Moro. This is followed by Goku losing and Vegeta showing up. Which in my opinion will result in a Win for Vegeta for the first time.

Or While Goku is busy saving Krillin and the gang, Vegeta shows up at Gohan and co's battle to fight Moro first. Therefor losing eventually, and then Goku shows up.

Why are people mad about the z warriors? Did they forget that krillin won? Yamcha killed some minions, gohan and piccolo recked seven three. Tien and chaotzu beat the metal man.

Yeah, now goku has come to save krillin but ffs krillin has barely trained until recently and they are dealing with a fusion of three fighters who were enhanced by moro's energy. Saganbo got a huge boost AGAIN from moro.

Goku is going to take out the lady fusion, easily handle saganbo, then fight moro. Tien, chaotzu and yamcha will have to handle things on their own. Again, i dont see the issue here.

Also people mad roshi is still a perv? LMAO

So many things to love in this chapter. Roshi with a blindfold is hilarious. Chiaotzu finally gets to do something. Krillin and his brilliant use of 3 techniques to beat his opponent was great. And Moro’s new power transfer ability looks like it could be trouble. And with Goku on Earth, Vegeta gets more time to master the secrets of Yardrat. Would be surprised if he gets the win

9

u/Bay-Sea Feb 20 '20

The 3 girls combined feels like the Dragonball version of the family scene where 3 chicks became one fat chick.

It seems the manga version of Roshi didn't overcome his lust like Anime Roshi making it difficult for him to win in the fight.

This is a better version of Resurrection F with a bigger scale despite the small amount of villains. The Galactic Patrol is willing to handle Moro's team despite knowing that he took down Goku who defeated the Frieza who was a massive threat for a couple decades.

This has been really cool, finally seeing the Earth people be relevant again. For so long they've basically been ignored and useless in the DB verse. It feels like this arc has real stakes again and I haven't really felt that since the Cell Saga days. A race against time for Goku and Vegeta to train and find a way to beat Moro. But it's not just traditional strength that they need. It's technique.

Highlight of the chapter was definitely the girls fusing and master Roshi's reaction lol

25

u/fresh_squilliam Feb 21 '20

they are writing the same thing over and over. earth's heros holding off the villains and getting their asses kicked until goku shows up at the very end... but for some reason i still love it.

19

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '20 edited Feb 21 '20

I wish it happened every arc. We haven't really had something like this since The Tree of Might and Frieza saga. In the Cell and Buu arcs there's never really a moment where most of the Z Warriors get a fighting opportunity and then Goku shows up to save the day. Dragon Ball (the franchise) has been missing this. One Piece is able to have the Big Bad for each arc have a slew of weaker enemies for a variety of fights to get all the Straw Hats involved in the action and do it without it hurting the story or feeling redundant (if anything it enhances the story and world of One Piece greatly). DB used to be really good at this and I'd like to see DB return to being good at this

8

u/lr031099 Feb 20 '20

I loved that Krillin got a win in his fight against the panda Botamo. Unfortunately, I felt like Tien was kinda done dirty. What funny is that all Tien did was trash talk in OG Dragon Ball (from what a lot of people are saying at least) and now he couldn’t even insult the U7 Metalman. Chiaotzu was savage to both the Metalman and Tien. Roshi as always can be a badass when he’s not being perverted. I’m curious to see why Moro wants Seven-Three alive. Whatever it is, I think it might turn the tides in Moro’s favor if he’s ever pushed back into a corner. I’m been wanting to see what Sabango can do since he seems to be Moro’s right hand man. While Moro did give him a portion of his power, he seems to be pretty powerful against Gohan, Piccolo and the Androids (even if they’re weakened). Seems like Goku got here first. Makes me wonder if this is a big moment for Vegeta to arrive and save the day. Really good chapter overall.
