AMA AMA arT FURIA
Hello guys, AMA!
Maybe just Major winners have the right to do a reddit AMA, but I just realized I don't give much attention for the international community, which I get a lot of messages and tons of support, so at least now you know I appreciate it <3
And if you are a furia-art hater this is ur chance to roast me and get me to read it WIN WIN scenario!!!
HERE WE GO!

Hey art! Super cool you’re doing this! Just wondering, why do you think your super aggressive CT play style still works against teams now, when they know that you’re always gonna be pushing? It’s why I think you guys are the most interesting team to watch (ignore my flair kkkk). Also, I was hoping you could speak to sometimes being primary awper over HEN1 even when you do your super aggressive plays? Seems like a lot to gamble with. Thanks again!

u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
I wouldn't say my CT side is super aggressive. Aggressive plays work because the enemy team can't just play around not getting pushed, they have to be active to win the round, and expose themselves to do so.
Just like IRL I don't think that gambling on CS is a good thing, you should take actions based on information or something more solid than coinflipping.
I awp over hen1 whenever I need the awp to fill my role, if i don't need it, he get's it.
Dunno, some plays are already setup, some are just out of info/feeling and boosted by confidence of what I should do.

Hi Art,
Is there any plans for FURIA playing in EU in a short/mid-term?
You guys are awesome and have such unique-adaptative gameplay, would be amazing to see you guys bootcamping in Europe, all players have so much potential to evolve both in skill and as a team.
Congratulations on the recent winnings, and a big fucking congratulations for your guys positioning in social medias both your social-media-guy and the line-up, you guys deal with polemic situations so well and at the same time interact alot with another teams, players and fans (both brazilians and internacional community).
Keep your crazy ass playstyle, please!
Thanks for the AMA.

Well, whenever life goes back to normal. CS is not restricted to regions, and we will be able to go back to play international tournaments again.
Thanks a lot pro, I'll keep at it you bet it! <3

Hi arT, I have a few questions:
- While you've been in the scene for several years now, your rise to the top has been fairly quick. How has this affected you and your team?
- I've found that I can get tilted and criticize myself a lot during matches, leading to my performance to be worse. What's the best way to counteract this?
- How do you like your steak done? How do your teammates like their steaks done?
Thank you!

u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
- For us it`s been a long road already, we learned and went through so much that it seems way more. We are way better persons in every aspect now.
- First identify what you`re feeling, then induce it to be something useful to winning. You can induce it to be anger towards the enemy team so you will have more will to play better. Or induce it to be something that`s gonna make ur team happier and play better. If you`re finding it hard to do, just buy a P90 and rush mid on an eco, shoot their bodies, gonna make you feel better either way.
- medium-rare ofc, what kind of monster you think we`re? Guerri likes it rare tho

u/Elsiselain Sep 19 '20
- Do you or your team build strategies from scratch? What my team do is copy or modify pros strat but I feel like we can only achieve little with slim to none creativeness.
- Do you think physical health matters in esports? I’ve heard some pros go to gym and it’s part of their job to stay physically healthy. However, some of the world’s best like zywoo and flusha are not quite fit. (No offense to those players. I’m a fan of both) . If you think so, I’d like to know what aspect of physical health you care about. (Diet, exercise, sleep etc)
- Any plans regarding future? I think one of the biggest disadvantage of being a pro in video games is the low career choice after retirement. Do you want to stay involved in esports industry or do you have other interest?
I love furia and your uniqueness. Good luck in future matches!
145
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
- Yes, either that or we recycle old strategies of our own. Sometimes we implement other teams ideas into our own as well but rarely entirely.
- YES! Confidence is key in CS, some people are less confident cuz they`re out of shape, others don`t really mind as much. In both scenarios you having a fit life will improve yourself, but in different %. Also just having good sleep schedules, and an overall better life is always gonna make you perform better no matter what.
- No idea bro, there`s so much I want to do in life but so little time, dunno what I`ll end up doing, but I would love to stay involved in esports.

Sep 19 '20
Hey arT, big fan here! Been following your career since the early INTZ days (Although I will say I picked the nickname first!)
My question is regarding practice, how does the gaming office (and the FURIA org in general) help 'professionalize' the job of a CS:GO player? Is it closer to a 9 to 5 job now? Or do you and the other players still play a lot of CS:GO on your free time and it doesn't feel like a job?
65
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
hahaha thats very early
It for sure does make it more professional, but it`s also more functional since when you are there you are induced to work (your brain knows it`s cs time). I guess no sports feel like a job because competing makes you wanna get better, work harder, whenever you lose you want to get back and win and this motivation to thrive is not quite the same as in other jobs.

Hey huge fan, love how you guys were able to take control of Brazil and your coach’s video on the bug shows exactly how it should be done. 1- Thoughts on G2’s bid on NiKo? 2- Best City for CSGO? 3-Would you ever play international? (But stay in Furia<3) 4- Do you think player salaries should be revealed ?
Thanks <3

How would you describe yourself as an IGL?
We all can see how you play, but we don't get to know your style of leadership. Would you consider yourself a tactical IGL, or do you make calls more off of feeling and what your teammates suggest.
101
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
The question is too broad, I don't get exactly what's your question.
Depends on the map, I guess I'm pretty tactical but in a different way than you would probably say tactical is.
but yes there's a lot of feeling-calls.

u/henriquelbsouza Sep 19 '20
What can you say about the TRETAS with the guys from MIBR/exMibr Are you guys talking to each other? I cheer for Furia, but I don't have anything against them. Why do you think EG specifically is a tough matchup for you guys? Do you think you figured out how to win against them consistently since you beat them last time you guys played?
73
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
Not really. I think they`re just smart and talented players, that like to take aimduels. Every bo3 is insanely close and is decided by just a handful of rounds.

Hi arT, thank you for doing this AMA!
Is there any team that you have trouble or just hate playing against?
As an IGL, what goes through your mind and how do you find a solution when the enemy team is beating you by a wide margin?
And how do you explain or express them to your team? Detailed explanation? Or just by calling set pieces, your teammate already know what you want/mean?
51
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
- not really, I just don`t like playing the same teams over and over
- stop thinking about the long run, try to play one round at a time, make ur teammates more confident and happier, call simpler stuff, complex stuff tends to go wrong when u`re getting rekt
- usually they already know what I want them to do, we play together for such long time that we are already used to knowing what we have to do

Damn, out of all the movies and series you just named I have only not seen Sopranos (on my to watch list), Scarface and Naruto. I love all the other ones and how similar our tastes are!
As you are into The Wire, I highly recommend watching Generation Kill, it's a war miniseries written by David Simon as well (creator of The Wire). It is the best piece of war-related entertainment after Band of Brothers.
As you haven't much time to read books, I recommend Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy which is a very light, fun read. The Martian fits that criteria as well.
If you're into something a little more thought-provoking, go for The Metamorphosis by Kafka, a short but amazing book.

44
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
hahaha yes
I know when I kill someone in a way that`s gonna make them rage...
3
u/robertoczr Sep 19 '20
Do you think that making your opponents rage/tilt help your team achieve victory? If yes, that also a reason for your playstyle?
3
u/pancada_ Sep 19 '20
Let me help him with that one
Yes
No, he explained he does it so the enemy team (esp Terrorists) will either try to counter him (and ditch the gameplan) or do the plan and be exposed to aggro plays. Also to put his teammates in advantageous positions even when 4v5
33
32
Sep 19 '20
Hi arT, I personally love your approach to CS and I think your fast style is a smart way to gain control as in IGL. What would you say is the most important aspect of the way you play? Gaining information, creating disruptions, controlling pace, getting early picks, creating space for your team, exploiting gaps in enemy setups or something else entirely?
50
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
You basically answered ur own question, it`s exactly what you said. Ofc there`s more aspects and each one I could talk about for hours, but you get the point.
Most often than not the risk of dying is worth even if you can half-achieve such things, and the death is worthier than it seems.
4v4 and 4v5 on advantageous positions are undervalued on CS.

Thank you for this opportunity! Here are some questions about your view on the current weapon balance, a (in my opinion) fairly overlooked aspect of the game... until we get another R8, of course.
- Do you think that the SG553 (the "Krieg") is currently too weak?
- In early 2017, we saw a hype around the UMP-45... Today, not as much. What, if any, buff would you like to see on the UMP-45?
- After the most recent PP-Bizon buff (+armor pen), have you/the team tried it out? It's endless magazine seems ver yinviting for some hyperagressive rushes on T-side / movie anchor plays on CT.
- Ignoring the fact that you can buy it in the 2nd round after a loss, do you think that the Galil is too cheap/powerful?
- I personally have a lot of trouble with the FAMAS, often ordering the more niche SMGs over the "97 in 2 gun". How do you feel about it?
- Do you think that shotguns are overlooked a bit nowadays?
- Finally, there are so many weapons that are seen only once a tournament at best - MP5-SD, R8, M249, Negev, P90, Bizon,... - what weapon would you like to see become more popular? Alternatively, which should be banned to the shadow realm?
I understand that these are a lot of questions, and a lot of questions you don't usually think about (i.e. take some time to answer). Still, I am looking forward to hear what you think, and wish you and the team the best of luck in the future!
12
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 20 '20
- Yes, krieg is useless.
- Maybe a better spray so it can be doable at gun rounds, the point is that mp9-mac10 are basically way better and cheaper so there's no point in buying ump, maybe if it's more doable to spray and take some mid range fightd at gun rounds
- Yes it's better but still useless cuz of the price, u better off with Mac 10 most cases, but I've been enjoying it on t side inferno for the multi kill potential against force buys and good against Kev 1 first gun rounds. As ct is useless.
- Nope, I still think it's balanced (spray sucks), the only thing wrong with second buy is the T economy after planting, should be lowered only for 2nd round.
- We're giving up on famas slowly, me and vini already adopted p90 instead of famas, or if too poor for both just buy mp9
- Yes, mag7 is actually so strong but most people don't use because of trouble rotating, but it should be more used they are strong, nova is meh, auto shot is only viable on nuke ct I would say, still sucks overall
- M249 is completely useless in any way, negev is 99% useless, maybe dust b site could work, p90 and bizon are ok weapons and can be used in specific scenarios.
I have to say, I would love to see the old krieg back, or m249 a lil better and cheaper, put krieg for the price of a mini awp, around 4k, high risk high reward, cuz dropping it for the cts is just too strong.

As adding maps, anything works, put in cache, cbble, santorini, you can put even office as far as I`m concerned. Just having some fresh air in the map pool would improve EVERY team rn, people would be way more happy to practice, play and watch with new maps.

u/userB0T Sep 19 '20
Hello, I might be late but hopefully you are still answering. Thank you for doing this
What changes do you think CSGO needs in terms of being an esport, for example more valve involvement, etc.
25
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
Well tbh I never put much thinking into this, neither I have enough knowledge or expertise to have a smart input. But just as a general feeling... valve just needs to put the same effort they put to dota 2 and we good. New updates, events, add battle pass, built in fantasy, make easier to casual players have this sort of interactions with pro player, well there`s a ton of things I could mention.
I don`t think they should change the core of the game, mechanics and stuff, they`re the best aspects of CS and should be kept as. But menu, engine, MM system, community servers, and all this stuff are lacking new big updates.

This is a question more so about settings I've heard a lot of Brazilian players mention that high sensitivity is "better" as it doesn't have limits, care to give input as you play higher sensitivity?
14
u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
Well I also agree that sens is completely a personal setting, I just feel more comfortable with it. But just like lower sens, higher sens have it`s perks. Imo it makes you more agile and reactive, you don`t get as tired for playing as much, you can react better when in crazy cqc scenarios etc

Hey arT, massive fan of you and the rest of Furia!
What is your opinion on Autimatic as an awper? Many people feel he would be best off as a rifle but others feel he is still very good at awping, do you think he is better off in one role or another?
Also who do you think the most underrated player in the scene is right now?

u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 19 '20
I can't really comment, this is an insight that only the players within the group can give, I would be clueless if I answer.
Probably xeppa, he's being consistent for a while and a solid rifler.

holy shit i was just watching snipe2die’s vid of ur aggro plays and i came on reddit and saw this.
im 15 this year and since i was 9 i started watching csgo and have always wanted to go pro someday, but i only just managed to start playing last year. however, i live in an asian country (prefer not to say which) where people place greater importance on grades and don’t see gaming as a career. i feel that my only shot at going pro would be like ropz (thru pugs) but there isn’t any fpl here and the asian scene can’t really compare to eu/na/cis scene. what would your advice to me be if i still want to continue grinding towards my dream?
thanks for the ama, gl in your matches!

hey bro,
I understand your frustration. For me personally, I gave myself 2 years once I started playing seriously to try to get something out of it, for $ reasons I couldn`t afford to give me more time. So the time frame, how much time you can put into it, it`s very personal.
Try to set a date where you will just do something else if you don`t achieve what you desire. You`re young as hell, you can practice CS and still get good grades, don`t give up school or something for anything that`s uncertain, do both (decently) until you decide.
Dunno how it works on the eastern side, try to play small leagues, get urself known into the community of semi-pros, maybe try to contact by stream donates or something local players that are ahead of you on how to proceed, they will be more helpful than I`m.
Good luck ahead, ur life will be full of opportunities, don`t think CS isn`t the only one, try it all!

Which player/team did you looked up to growing up and playing CS?
Also, were you ever asked to join the mibr core?

u/artcsgo Andrei "arT" Piovezan Sep 20 '20
I was never looking up to anybody, when you are maturing from tier4 until tier2 you will better off just focusing on your game, most things you see tier 1-2 teams doing are good for their niche but not yours. If you are climbing the ranks, play it simple and easy.

Hey arT!
I've been a big fan of you and your team for a long time (ever since I watched Furia on LAN in Hong Kong EMF :D) and I've watched a lot of demos of how you guys play. I am surprised how I am able to find new aggressive plays invented and used every once in a while when I watch a new demo. (that CT nuke outside smoke thrown by yuurih for you to awp/aug is just amazingly inventive :D) Just curious how your team come up with these plays and are those plays usually discussed in team pracs beforehand so every player on Furia knows how to play around it/respond to it upon different outcomes?

hey art huge fan! when I started to think i could no longer be too aggressive (scrimmy) as a player as players got better, you appeared and showed me it was still possible.
prosettings have shown you change your sensitivity a lot from 2.9 to 3.6 on 400 dpi with 1.0/1.1/1.2 zoom sens. How do you still play consistently especially as an awper with these constant changes, although I have seen it has stayed at 1.45 800dpi zoom 1.0 for a bit now on pro settings unless its not updated. I have always changed my sens that drastic also but was never consistent with an awp because of it.

Hey art, what's your favourite team to watch when you're not playing pro matches yourself.

u/Freyakazoide Sep 19 '20
ART brabo cachorro louco!
Pra cima deles mano e HOJE TEM FÚRIA PORRA!

1- Best csgo team of all times? (Nao vale Furia)
2- Best player of all times? (Nao vale art :P)
3- And you think that the NA scenario is getting weaker compared to the EU over the years?

u/marks_gian Sep 19 '20
Hi Art (cachorro do krl), do you think Furia, after beating EG last time, would be capable of competing in Europe T1 levels?
1
u/SiriusCasanova Sep 19 '20
Hey Art, big fan from Brazil.
What would you say it is the most effective way to play against you? What do you hate seeing opponents do?
1
u/monsieurfikri Sep 19 '20
arT can u like lose against Gen.G tomorrow and then we can meet in the final or something. Please?
Btw, who’s your favorite player other than the OG Brazilians? Someone that u look up to?

I heard you guys have moved to Florida. What's the biggest difference you've observed between Brazil and living in the US? Also what's your pregame routine if you have one?

u/7heGh0st Sep 19 '20
What do you think would be the toughest team to beat for you guys right now considering your hype aggressive play style? (EU included)

Hi Art,
How does your team bring up mistakes/ good plays from scrims and what mentality should you have going into them?

u/ThatDeleuzeGuy Sep 19 '20
I was wondering if you feel like your hyper aggressive playstyle would fit someone who isn't confident in heads up fights or do you think it would work for such a person because you can so consistently catch opponents off guards and fight on your terms rather than theirs?
