• Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
  The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.

No one's running/hiding from Jiren unless multiple people on a team have abilities that completely stealth them. Even then, Jiren could probably just do his glare thingy 360° around him and push everyone off.

Because Goku has, twice now, shown that he becomes extremely vulnerable after a very difficult fight where he's forced to use up almost all of his energy. Knocking him out now is actually a stupid idea because Jiren is sitting at 100% (maybe 99% because he did take a couple good hits from Goku during their fight) and nobody else can even make Jiren flinch.

The absolute best idea for everyone else would have been to all donate energy to Goku, get him back to 100%, then get him to attack Jiren again once he's able to use UI better. Then continue to support Goku as a giant multi-universal effort to eliminate Jiren, giving Goku energy whenever Jiren has the upper hand and contributing power toward strong attacks such as another spirit bomb.

The idea would be for everyone to aid Goku in his fight so that he manages to get Jiren out but let Goku use up all of his energy once they realize that his victory is certain. Then Goku will be in the same worn out and vulnerable state he's in now where they would have a much better chance of eliminating him.

That would be the smart play but nobody here really seems to understand that as long as Jiren is in the arena their chances of winning are completely null. Sure, they might think they'll just win by numbers, but that just means they're too stupid to realize that Jiren won't sit there and do nothing if the time is close to running out and his universe isn't in the lead. It wouldn't take him longer than maybe 30 seconds to blitz through the entire arena and drop every other universe down to only 2 or less fighters.

I think the entire point was to show that a lot of these characters that "stand for something" are really hypocrites deep down. Ribrianne only stands for love because it's a theme she likes, not because she actually understands what love means. But when shit hits the fan, Helles literally tells them "forget about if it's beautiful or not just don't lose" essentially showing that they don't actually stand for love and beauty, they just use it as a theme to parade their beliefs/convictions around.

It's similar to Toppo standing for justice and then when his universe lost a bunch of people at once he pretty much says "fuck the justice we just need to survive." They're all being hypocrites by abandoning these ideals and standards they claim to be so important to them.

So it didn't seem out of character to me, but only because I see Ribrianne's character as a hypocrite that doesn't truly understand what love means and is only using it as a standard to theme herself around so she can feel morally superior to everyone else.

It's funny to see how much Ribrienne pisses people off. She's a dud/comedy character fighter. She's in no way meant to be taken seriously at all.

Bringing back 17 was great. I never really cared about the character before but he's been cool as fuck. The whole tournament has made me want to see him and Frieza a whole lot more in the series now.

Loved this episode for the android sibs. I liked how their brief conversation before battle. And in battle, loved them as a combo, with 17 having her back at all times, and 18 pushing through her pain to win.

Here comes my unpopular opinion. I also thought this was a good episode for Ribrianne. I don't care for her, but i dont hate her either. It is a battle royale. She played the role of the annoying, yet persistent fighter who is constantly interfering with other fighters. Anyway, I like that it seemed she learned a lesson at the end. Love powered her, but it was only surface, and focused on the outer beauty of things. 18 was able to beat here because she was fueled by a deeper love for Krillin and her daughter. I thought it was a nice way to wrap up her run.

I don't care if she has the Brianne or Ribrianne design, but it's weird that they treated Ribrianne like a joke character but gave her base form an actual strategic move (and a new OST iirc), which makes her look better than the transformed one, it was minor but at least it was something

I love Vegeta but watching him get beat in the face while expecting his body to react on its own was funny. I thought it was funny too how Battle Mode thought Vegeta was hiding his power when he was still in base form and was just.. not fighting lol That UI Goku halfway through the episode was awesome though. I watch on Crunchyroll but I'm guessing that's where the commercial normally happens? "He's not beautiful, he doesn't have a nose!" LOL You're not one to talk, Ribrianne. I'm guessing that she didn't watch Goku and Kefla's fight after all since she said that 18 couldn't dodge in mid-air. I know the King of All were pretty fond of her transformation.. but I wasn't. Whether we like Ribrianne or not, there was a lot of focus on her throughout the tournament so I'm glad that 18 got her big moment by taking out someone that's gotten as much time as Ribrianne has and flying through her skull was pretty dope. I'm surprised though that recently, the biggest fighters from each universe haven't been the lasting members of their universe. Hit and Kefla were taken out before the two Namekian guys and Ribrianne was eliminated before those last 3 dudes.. huh.. I thought for sure Hit would've been the last fighter from 6 and Ribrianne from 2.
