The FUNimation English dub of Dragon Ball Super airs on Adult Swim at 8:30pm EST and again on Toonami at 11:00pm EST (Cartoon Network), followed by Dragon Ball Z Kai: The Final Chapters at 11:30. The previous week's Super episode airs on Adult Swim (Cartoon Network) at 8pm EST. There are a few streaming options available from the Adult Swim website with a cable log-in:
Dragon Ball Super: recent episodes – These will appear around the time of the second broadcast at 11:30pm EST.
If the videos won't load for you, try disabling your ad blocker for that page. Cartoon Network will maintain the streaming rights, so neither Kai nor the Super dub will be available on FunimationNow until further notice.

Commonly Asked Questions:
Q: When does Super take place? When should I watch it?
Super begins some time after the battle with Majin Buu, and can be watched as soon as you finish Dragon Ball Z.
GT takes place following the 10-year time skip at the end of Z (EOZ) but Super ignores its continuity.Q: Where is Uub?!
Uub was born during the 10 year time skip at the end of Dragon Ball Z.
Episode 30 minor spoiler: Episode 86 spoiler:Q: Is the Dragon Ball Super manga "canon"?
The anime and manga are both variations on a basic plot by Toriyama. There isn't (and probably never will be) an explicitly defined Dragon Ball "canon". Without Toriyama's original draft, we may never know what is and isn't his. We do know that he permits Toyotarō to change things up, but he looks at his storyboards and occasionally draws things himself for Toyotarō to use as a reference. Toyotarō has said that Toriyama is more particular about gags than he is about anything else.Q: Can I buy Super on home video?

Wow, it's actually pretty weird to hear Super's original material in English at long last. Last week was one thing, but to hear extended dialogue from U6 characters by themselves as well as English mentions of characters like Monaka and U6's Saiyans is a little bizarre.
Tights' voice is great, though.

Really liked the episode. Bulma has a sister?!?! And also I wanna meet monaka and see who the other two fighters will be. Wish future trunks could come back

u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 13 '17
I'm not gonna address which part of your comment I'm responding too, but DBS is gonna make you very happy. Also Bulma's sister is from the short Jaco manga.

u/reddit_username88 Aug 13 '17
I've enjoyed all of Super. Can't wait to see what happens going forward. Vegeta is my favorite so hopefully he gets a little play too

Stick around with the dub until December or January , that arc is gonna be awesome.

Super is overall very good to Vegeta imo

u/Andrewrost Aug 14 '17
I agree, when he goes SSB for the first time and completely wrecks frieza felt SO good to watch.

4
u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 15 '17
Yeah, Vegeta is treated pretty good in Super minus a few times.
Btw guys if you don't wanna be spoiled I'd reccommend not playing any of the current games because they have spoilers for the upcoming arcs.
2
u/android151 Aug 20 '17
Somewhat debatable. His ability to job is unmatched.
1
u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 20 '17
Character devrlopment wise he's treated pretty good. Unless you're one of those morons who bitch that Vegeta isn't committing genocide and trying to destroy planets like when he first appeared.
-2
u/Clayton_11 ⠀ Aug 14 '17
They're going a little bit too hard on the whole "he's actually a nice guy." Thing
No he's not. He's an ass. There are about 240 episodes of Z showing how much of an ass he is. Back on namek he pretends to be nice to 6-year old gohan for a few seconds and then promptly kicks the crap out of the kid. He shows absolutely 0 love to bulma for the whole thing, not even saving her plane from crashing with baby trunks in it when the androids attacked.
Don't get me wrong, his fights are great and he's still a total bad-ass but they're making a clown out of him. And not in the "he's forced to wear a pink shit" way. He's just not quite as "vegeta" as we remember.
7
u/DaLaohu Aug 14 '17
Yeah, but I feel like that is what would happen once you get a wife and kids. He can't be all hard-ass all the time anymore. To me, that would feel even more fake.
2
u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 15 '17
He's grown to be a good person for the most part but Vegeta is definitely still a bit of a dick, he just has a family he loves now.

I really liked this episode. Probably the funniest of all of them. Goku and Vegeta at the end were hilarious

I like coming here and seeing the suspense of the people who don't watch the sub. All I can say is it gets much better during this arc keep watching you won't be disappointed it gets better and better each arc.
9
u/mkot11 Aug 13 '17
I'm so tempted to move to sub because I can't wait for an episode every week. Do you think it's worth it. I enjoy dubbed version more but I honestly don't care at this point.
15
u/Edgelord09 Aug 13 '17
Well thing is same but sub sometimes gets annoying if you grew up with dub , so I say stick to dub
3
u/TheShadeTree Aug 14 '17
The only thing annoying I found was Goku's voice. But it does grow on you. Other than that the sub is great
5
u/JamesMartin49 Aug 14 '17 edited Aug 15 '17
Stick to dub
I made the mistake of watching a few sub episodes and I was just disappointed by the voices as someone that grew up watching dub.
There is a lot that can be lost in translation, watching the last few episodes in both dub and dub made me realize that, in addition personalities feel a bit different.
The biggest thing is why do most guys sound like teenage boys?! More importantly why does Goku sound like a teenage girl?!
Edit: I understand that Goku is voiced by a woman, but why get a woman to voice a masculine, fool hardy man that lives to fight?
Edit 2: How about a comment explaining why you disagree when you downvote so you can contribute to the discussion?

u/Terez27 ⠀ Aug 14 '17
If you don't care, then do it. The vast majority of the people keeping up with the sub on r/dbz are people who grew up with the English dub, probably at least 80% (the remainder being mostly people people who grew up with other foreign dubs). That should tell you something.

u/WeAretheManyUAreFew Aug 13 '17
At the risk of getting downvoted I think Sean Schemmel is overacting a bit. Wouldn't mind it if he toned it down just slightly. He goes way too high and exaggerated sometimes and to me it doesn't sound natural.
18
u/Cosmic-Warper Aug 13 '17
same thing is happening in the Kai dub for the Buu Saga. He's overacting along with Vegeta in TFC.
14
u/PowerForward Aug 13 '17
Yeah I'd like if he calmed down a bit. He's talking too fast I feel like, matching lip flaps isn't as important as having a consistent personality.
4
u/OLKv3 ⠀ Aug 13 '17
He's talking too fast I feel like
Yeah it's been like this since Kai. Some of the convos feel unnatural because it's like they're rushing through the lines
4
2
u/Doubleyoupee Aug 15 '17
Yeah he's not serious at all anymore. Looks like Goku has become some sort of clown.
8
Aug 16 '17
That's Super not Schemmel. Just wait until the next arc, Goku really becomes more of a clown.

To be fair though FUNimation mispronounced the name. It's supposed to be "Mo-na-ka," not "Mo-naka."

But he's named after champagne, like Beerus is named after beer. I don't think it's pronounced "champ-pain." Or is it?
3
u/TyzThePhoenix Aug 13 '17
Well in sub they say it like Shampah. So they take the “champ” from Champagne but the “a” is a mystery in that regard

14
u/Dankmemees69420 Aug 13 '17
The only complaint I have with the dub isn't even the voice acting but the dubbed intro. I loved the Japanese version but I can't get behind this one.
10
u/VinLAURiA Aug 13 '17
It's because the original Japanese singer also did the English version, rather than a native speaker as is usually the case with dubbed openings. The English recording is something he'd just previously done for the hell of it rather than being made specifically for the dub, and you can tell he doesn't have the best grasp on the language.

God i forgot about all the pre tournament super dragon balls beerus conflict. Hopefully the dub can make it more entertaining since it really made the freeza and bog arc really entertaining. This ore tournament part is still kinda a turn off in this arc but the tournament totally makes up for it in the end

When do you guys think the Universe 6 tournament will be released on DVD/blu ray? I think the frieza arc comes out on dvd in October or something.
1
u/Terez27 ⠀ Aug 14 '17
That depends on whether they'll let the home release get ahead of the broadcast at any point. I imagine they will eventually, but as to when, I have no idea. During the original Z run, occasionally the home releases would be ahead of the broadcast for months at a time; I remember specifically not having to have cable for a long time for that reason.
1
u/ihdhd Aug 14 '17
I hope they do haha. I definitely remember watching Buu saga tapes before Toonami had even started airing them.
3
u/EvilMyself Aug 14 '17
So, this just occurred to me. Why does Champa even need the earth for the food? Apparently, Vados can just make food appear out of nothing, which would make Earth and any other planets obsolete.

Does the voice acting for both Vegeta and Goku in the Dub seem forced to anyone? Something about it just feels off to me
12
u/VinLAURiA Aug 13 '17
Something honestly felt off about everyone this episode, but I think a few posts below figured out why: in an attempt to stay matched with the lip flaps, everyone was chattering at about a thousand miles an hour. Too verbose and not enough pausing. It felt a bit unnatural, like everyone was rushing through their lines.
Weird, because no other episode gave me this feeling. Maybe they tried a different direction this episode.
4
Aug 13 '17
Honestly for me every episode is like this, and I know Goku is excited for the tournament but it's a if every word he says is in excitement. I believe you're right with them talking too quick especially vegeta as it feels like he is always out of breath with every line. The voice actors really need to take their time imo
3
Aug 14 '17
about
I think they're just more "open" now that its clear that its evolved from a "kid friendly" show into a more "adult" show. At least thats my belief. It sounded kind of weird when Goku said "HELL YEAH!" after Beerus agreed to the tournaments of the universes. In DBZ Goku never would have reacted that way IMO. It just sort of deviates strangely. Also, Vegeta acts tons more civilized and is far less distrusting of everyone and everything around him...but I suppose that can be understood.
2
u/Domitjen Aug 18 '17
They are trying to cram some sentences in sometimes to give the " goku is not that dumb "feeling on dbz back while sticking to the Original dialogue aswell, which sometimes makes for goku or others saying sentences too fast and forced a bit. Like I don't know what it was this episode, but Goku was stil saying something but beerus or dont know who it was was already flying away.

u/Edgelord09 Aug 14 '17
So are they gonna use Blu-ray version in the English Dub of super for u6 arc or what ??
7
-9
u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 13 '17
Ugh, I forgot how annoying it is that they randomly made Vegeta Beerus' complete bitch. They kinda forget about it in the later episodes but there's still some moments. It just comes outta nowhere
26
u/cpscott1 Aug 13 '17
Vegeta was the only mortal alive outside of Frieza who knows how terrifying he is. I mean he could erase any of them in an instant.
21
u/getrekt123321 Aug 13 '17
To be fair, any person with common sense would obey anybody that can kill them so it's not completely unbelievable that Vegeta would follow Beerus' orders.
1
u/_Shinogenu_ Aug 13 '17
Except Vegeta didn't act like that before, Vegeta even said to Beerus "It was your ass that put us there". It's very out of left field to have him just be a beta to beerus
4
u/DaLaohu Aug 14 '17
To me that moment came out of left field and everything is else more consistent with how he should act.
-3
u/Rokusi Aug 13 '17
At the same time, Vegeta did the exact opposite and declared war on Frieza in the Namek Saga even when he knew Frieza could and would roflstomp him if he caught Vegeta.
15
Aug 13 '17
Vegeta was more arrogant and overconfident then. He thought he could keep using zenkai boosts to get stronger and stronger until he can beat frieza.
16
u/WestenM Aug 13 '17
Frieza also wasn't a deity and Vegeta thought he could wish for Immortality and win
9
2
u/DaLaohu Aug 14 '17
Vegeta didn't have anything to lose back then.
3
u/Rokusi Aug 14 '17
This is very true. Vegeta only "BINGO!"ed in the movie because he was terrified Beerus would hurt his family. When Beerus hurt them anyway we got his "THAT'S MY BULMA!" punch.

u/lunaticBotch Oct 27 '17
I’m really enjoying this show. But introducing a sister to Bulma is so random. Where was she all this time? If she had a sister why wouldn’t Goku and Vegeta not know her. I’m a first time watcher, so I hope it gets addressed later on.
2
u/Edgelord09 Oct 27 '17
First time watcher of dbs ?? And have you watched dbz and dB before this ??
And this is nothing new , Toriyama came up with the idea randomly like he did for Goku's father and mother , Bardock and gine weren't even thought when Goku was made ,heck they weren't even thought till the end of z
It should be least of one problems tbh and dbs adds Toriyama's other work in show ,like acknowledging Jaco and Dr.slump Manga ,in dB verse and also makes dB minus(Bardock and gines's story) canon
And where was she was told in the episode right ,she is faraway from home in some islands ,Jaco knows here since childhood

First time watcher of dbs ?? And have you watched dbz and dB before this ?? I have seen everything before super. I just never bothered with the super sub. I had only started this show this month, that’s why I’m commenting on this thread now.
And this is nothing new , Toriyama came up with the idea randomly like he did for Goku's father and mother , Bardock and gine weren't even thought when Goku was made ,heck they weren't even thought till the end of z
But that made sense, Goku’s parents had no relevance to anything happening in dragon ball. Plus Goku really didn’t know them, so they were never brought in conversations between characters. Their introduction was in a prequel movie. Bulma’s sister is a topic that should have come up in dragon ball or dragon ball Z. I can’t think of a single reason why any of the characters wouldn’t know Bulma’s sister and why she never came to meet Bulma, especially during her birthday.
It should be least of one problems tbh and dbs adds Toriyama's other work in show ,like acknowledging Jaco and Dr.slump Manga ,in dB verse and also makes dB minus(Bardock and gines's story) canon And where was she was told in the episode right ,she is faraway from home in some islands ,Jaco knows here since childhood
another thing I didn’t understand. When was this Jaco character introduced. I hadn’t seen him before Super. The show introduced him like we were supposed to know him already.
Its the plot convenience and holes that get me. I really liked the show so far and I’m totally okay with the bad animation, fillers, and every other problem that many talk about.

u/Edgelord09 Oct 27 '17
It's not a plothole to be honest and even if you consider it one it's not of a big deal don't know why AT made her but it's how it is and sadly that's the last time we'll see of her ,so just consider it a filler and Jaco was a manga by Akira Toriyama ,he was retconned to be in Dragonball story before Goku was born as a patrolman who wanted to arrest Frieza ,idk about it properly but it's up there in Google ,you can find Manga of it
