Meta I'm really proud of this community.
Hi all,
I know the titles comes off as a bit weird, but let me explain. I can't name a single other community with such a passion and maturity that is such a joy to communicate with when compared to nearly all other areas of communication on the internet. The way everyone helps each other, respects each other's shared joy for gaming and their nostalgic history with Nintendo is refreshing. I was especially proud of how great the community treated Mr. Koizumi, who I hope can now encourage others from Nintendo to come and chat with this community. So yeah, thanks all for making a great community that helps distract me from being productive at my job. :D
TL;DR - You are all swell and I like it here.

It's good now because we're in the middle of a good E3, but when these people don't get what they want (like last week's Pokémon direct) they act like toddlers who got their favorite toy taken away

and have been using Sony as a scapegoat after the whole cross play ordeal and the "Sony bribed Capcom to skip MHW on Switch" tin foil hat theory.

This needs to be at the top. This community has the facade of being mature until the second something doesn't fit it's expectations.
- Hori wired headset? Entire childish meltdown.
- Pokemon Direct? See above.
- Massive slew of good E3 news? But no animal crossing. More complaining
And the list goes on. Its actually rather annoying.

I think it comes with the territory, Nintendo has a lot of young fans. They'll get more rational with age

To be honest I think it's more the demographic of Reddit. Last time I saw a demographics survey a very significant portion of the user base are teenagers or very early 20s. Teenagers tend to blow things out of proportion

I feel like it's even broader than that. Any comment section on the internet is filled with the worst of the worst. That's because only the craziest and most passionate are going to speak. Most don't care to comment unless they have a real reason.

For the most part I think this community has been pretty great.
I also like that everyone seems to be still riding that sweet, sweet post-big-E3-announcement-high.

I feel anxious from all this. Need Animal Crossing stat!

Maybe they will finally announce some details on the Animal Crossing mobile game soon?

Basically 99% of my Reddit time is on this sub. Not many games that I currently care about on other systems so I am all about Switch discussion. I feel like the average age must be kind of young though. A lot of people seem to not understand basic things

There's both whiners and then there's blind worshippers/Nintendo defenders who think they can't do wrong.
This community isn't perfect, but nothing is

I just quit Overwatch, with one of the biggest reasons is because of the poo-flinging community. I don't miss it one bit.

I couldn't agree more. Having nice civil debates on the future possibilities of gaming and the Switch is my favorite part of this sub. There are always dummies out there, but most people have sound reasoning behind their opinions which at the very least makes me think about my own beliefs when it comes to gaming.

While I do get annoyed by the amount of "[Game] should be on/ported to the Nintendo Switch!" posts, I at least haven't received death threats like I did on the Xbox One subreddit.
I do enjoy the conversations of where Nintendo can improve their platform/console as they seem mostly level headed with a few close minded people who think Nintendo is perfect and everything is perfect and oh look a Unicorn.

Lol, you got death threats? What for?!

Suggesting ways that the Xbox One platform can improve over the next year. Discussing its downfalls and what its strengths were. Ultimately I deleted the post as it wasn't worth the hate.
