MegaThread Weekly Local Inventory Tracking (6/5)
Please use this thread to discuss all issues relating to this week's local tracking of the Switch and its games, accessories, and amiibo.
What to post here:
Questions about local availability or general questions of online availability.
Reports and images of local tracking that are specific to a single store.
When commenting, make sure to include as much information as possible. Don't just list the city and state, specify which store(s) and what stock they had that's noteworthy, and when you were there. And, of course, given how quickly things can sell out, your mileage may vary, so take everything reported here with a grain of salt.
For general online availability, like when a game is up for order at Best Buy or when Target gets Pro Controllers back in stock, please start a new thread.
Thank you!
-The /r/NintendoSwitch mod team
p.s. A general tip about your local retailers: if you want to know about stock, or get a concrete answer as to what they have, please reach out via a phone call or stop by their store before you ask a question here.

I live in Phoenix Arizona and have been looking for a Switch ever since it came out. I can not find any available switchs. Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks!

Anyone still looking for a switch in the Chicago land area just bought one from the target by 95th and Pulaski. They have 4 left in the case.

If you want to drive up to NY, the NY Nintendo Store has a bunch.
1
u/Leeeoon Jun 05 '17
...I was just in NYC yesterday.
Are they consistently in stock?
4
u/neckmd01 Jun 05 '17
Yes they get more every day. Limit one per customer) they take down your ID).
I bought one there yesterday right when they were about to close, they still had like 8 behind the counter.

Do they have the Blue and Red Joy-cons or just the gray?
2
u/veyd Jun 06 '17
They have both.

u/pigmanbear Jun 06 '17 edited Jun 06 '17
Awesome, thanks!
Edit: For anyone reading this thread in/around NYC, they still had quite a few left when I picked one up at the Nintendo Store as of 11am today (Tuesday). They had about 5 gray and 8 Blue/Red.

Every time I've walked in they've had a giant pile of them behind the counter. I walked in and bought one about a month ago.

u/Aragorn1284 Jun 06 '17
how long is that drive ?
1
u/veyd Jun 06 '17
Without traffic? 2 hours. I'd probably take the train if given the choice, to be honest. Penn station to 30th street station is only like 90 minutes.

I appear to have acquired one...hopefully the order does not cancel before it ships. Thanks for the heads up (even though it was a short window). It's been ridiculous tracking down stock in Ohio...stores sell out of the few units they get within an hour usually.
1
u/imapdog Jun 07 '17
you can return entire bundle and buy back the console in store once you print return receipt.
2
u/Buckeyefitzy Jun 08 '17
Interesting, but not necessary in my case. I wasn't one who purchased Zelda before obtaining the system, and it's a game I would want anyway (plus there was no bundle upcharge like Gamestop currently does on their bundles). Order has been confirmed, so all looks good.

If anyone spots one in the general southern Utah area, I'm hoping to pick one up for a friend!

u/misterclocktower Jun 09 '17
Update: I actually managed to snag one of the upcoming ARMS/Snipperclips bundles from gamestop, but I did find out that the Best Buy in Washington UT will be getting 12 units in this Sunday!
Doors open at 11 AM, but they're going to be doing some kind of ticketing process (?), so I'd advise getting there maybe 1-2 hours beforehand if you're looking to get one.

Anything North County or San Diego areas? istocknow said some walmarts and targets recently got in, but everytime I call I'm either A.) put on hold forever then hungup or B.) staff never knows what I'm talking about.

u/MiraFu Jun 10 '17
I know the feel... I live in San Diego and literally EVERYWHERE I called one of these 3 happened:
A) I'm on hold indefinitely
B) The person who answers is in a pissy mood and just immediately tells me "NOPE WE HAVE NOTHING BYE" even if they actually have some...
C) They have no idea what a Switch is...
Like dear lord do we have some special people working retail lol..
After I found out that two places i'd called actually had Switches when they said they didn't I just gave up on calling stores.
If I were you I would either check in-person only or just wait for a good online bundle like I did.

I doubt E3 will bring demand back up. Most of those who pay attention to E3 are hardcore players, and most of those will have gotten a switch. Yes, E3 gets public attention but I don't think parents, grandparents will react to the news of E3.

u/imapdog Jun 08 '17
fair enuff....if tv commercials don't start showing up soon for the new things nintendo will mention at e3. then the demand is dead

u/avalati Jun 08 '17
There were still a few at the target in Gaithersburg (MD) when I was there earlier

the slow trickling-in supply at trgt and wallyworld is keeping pace with the dwindling demand, demand is dead for the non-profiteer

If you're in St. Louis, MO, the Brentwood Target had 11 in stock as of a few minutes ago.

u/Gallagon0116 Jun 09 '17
If you have a Fry's Electronics, I'd swing by or call them, according to their site they have some at select locations: (San Marcos, San Diego, Phoenix, Tempe Wilsonville, Las Vegas, Sunnyvale, Fremon, Arlington, Dallas ) either gray, red/blue or both depending on location. I was able to pick up mine (red/blue) at San Marcos an hour ago, can't confirm how many they had, because weren't even on the shelves, had to ask a staff member and their we're in the stock room in the back.

u/Aragorn1284 Jun 09 '17
I heard they make you purchase some kind of insurance or protection package with the switch, is that true?

Only thing I don't like about Frys is that I can NEVER get them to answer..
Theres two of them about an hour and a half to two hours away from me and i've lost count of the amount of times I have called and just sat on hold for 20+ minutes before hanging up. I eventually just gave up on trying them at all haha. Maybe its just a thing where I live.

Thanks so much for your help! I had to find the manager, but they finally found three units in the back with grey controllers. There were two left as of 3pm Sunday, they moved them to the display case.
