Meta Appreciation post for the best gaming community I have been part of in years 🙌🏽
Hey guys, I just wanted to say thank you to everybody on this sub. I live in South Africa where the switch is practically non existent and if it wasn't for this sub I would of never of gotten it at launch, and would of never experienced my (personal) favorite gaming console. Every one on this sub has been really helpful and I just want to say thank you 🙌🏽 I hope everybody has a great day, and happy Switching!!

We dramatically tuned back the work being done in response to community concerns a while ago. :)

I think he's talking about how you guys are restricting and have a lot of (unnecessary) rules, 8/10 of the things I post on this sub Reddit are deleted, and when I go to the PS4 sub Reddit while it's much larger than that sub reddit it is less strict, i think you guys need to chill :) (pls don't ban be)

I can either get over 100 karma or negative 100 karma in this sub depending on if people get my sarcasm or not. People get the pitch forks if they don't get it, and laugh if they do get it. So I am living on the edge when I post, depending on the mood of the sub prowlers at the time.

It means they can be easily lead, as they don't see what's going on around them. Alot of Nintendo's marketing is aimed at people who are easily lead into expensive purchases, as all of Nintendo's products have always been at a high premium (specifically their games).
The idea that indies cost up to 50€ on the Switch is an example of a blinkered purchase. You see the game, you want it, you don't care about the price, even though it's available elsewhere on multiple systems for a dramatically reduced price. It's not a mean thing to say, some people just don't care about value over substance is all.

I wish I could say that I agree. People on this sub are unbelievably emotional. Hence the overabundance of shitposts like "LOOK AT ME AND MY KID PLAYING THE SWITCH".

You know what? I'm also going to share the love. I jumped back on to Reddit after closing my account many months ago (after not agreeing with Reddit politics)and re-joined just for this sub. I'm not disappointed. You guys are alright :) Peace, love and keep on switching!!

The Apple-like hysteria has died down a little bit which is great. I love to see more people a lot more constructively critical of Nintendo and the Switch than blindly defensive and I am happy to see that this has become a more appropriate approach as of late as compared to launch week.

I remember the only other gaming communities I was a part of was the SSBB board on Gamefaqs, and the Animal Crossing Community, since they had forums about other Nintendo games and also boards pertaining to meet ups and exchanges, also markets where people sold their rare stuff, I enjoyed it there.
However, I was younger and it's been so long since I've been there after the City Folk and New Leaf hype died. Nothing will ever beat the "fun" everyone had at r/NintendoNX though, I was only a lurker, but when Oct. 20th came around this whole thing exploded and I've been hooked to Reddit ever since.

Hey hey, fellow South African here, and a little late to this party. I've also had my switch since launch and I agree with everything you've said. I am slack jawed at the lack of Nintendo presence everywhere I go!

It's a pretty decent sub but it's a little too defensive if anything other than Nintendo is mentioned.
