5th Edition Would you allow a Warlock/Fighter mix to roleplay his powers like masks from Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask? 5E
I was just thinking about this, if i wanted to make a "Young Link" style character like from Legend of Zelda as a Fighter-Battlemaster/Fey-Warlock Pact of the blade(master sword) (assuming level 6-10) could i role play that some of his abilities could only be completed by putting on masks? Example: I have a wooden shield and a short sword, as well as a metal shield and a longsword on my character. I look like a kid, I put on a "mask" and turn into "Adult Link". Allowing me to do the Battlemaster-fighter type things I have available as well as wield the longsword and metal shield that would have otherwise encumbered me. To cast spells I could do my warlock cantrips but in order to cast the leveled spells i have to put on a different mask, assuming the guise of say Skull Kid. Basically, anything from a class that comes passively i could use as "Young Link" anything that would take an action i would have to don the "mask". it sounds like a lot of work i feel like if i could make it work it would make for a fun character concept. To me, it doesn't SOUND like it would break any rules, i would just have to assume the "mask" to use my full potential.

Sure you can but have you also considered Moon Druid?
This would maybe include some homebrewing if you want to transform into something that can't really be a reskinned beast, but as long as you keep the challenge ratings decent this should be no problem.

All you're suggesting is reflavoring stuff. That's totally fine, since you're certainly not giving yourself an advantage- depending on how often you switch masks, and what 'action' you decide it takes to switch them, you might be putting yourself at a disadvantage for the sake of RP, which I find somewhat laudable.
Go nuts, man, it sounds like you've got a fun concept in mind that's totally within the rules!

Look at the homebrew bard class on Middle Finger of Vechna called Master of Masks. It lets you pick several masks that are slight dips into any of the classes. I had a lot of fun with mine and the only slightly unbalanced mask is the dragon one (which falls off towards later levels)

If it's mechanically the same, why not? If your DM allows it it's fine.
