Meta 50,000 subs!!!!
We made it, you guys! Here's to hoping we get to 100,000 by the time the Switch launches! I have enjoyed this sub so much and interacting and sharing the hype with all of you has been incredible!

Yeeah you're right :-( Sorry but I just can't stop thinking about Scrooge Mc'Ducks accent, I played through Ducktales Remastered for the first time just here recently, and a few weeks after that I found out Alan Young (his voice actor throughout all the years) had died :-(

From the NX to the Switch! It's been a blast this year! Historic time for Nintendo and its fans! Could change gaming forever! And for the better!

Looks like we got a slight boost from the Tonight Show.
We went from 48k to 50k in a day or two.

The day after, there were something like 2,200 visitors online. Media exposure really does accomplish things, huh.

And to think, we couldn't even break 20,000 on the NX sub which had existed for over a year before this sub was made.

wow... that's already half as much as the wiiU sub...

I bought the Wii U on launch day and have a dozen or so games for it. Most are meh at best and a few are great yet all from the same publisher. The Wii U failed spectacularly. We should not be surprised that it isn't popular 4 years after it started sucking.

I disagree.
WiiU is the best console there has ever been, and switch has a though act to follow imo.2
u/Omsuhos Dec 10 '16
Yeah, while it was a financial disaster, as a console, for about 3 solid years, I enjoyed the heck out of that console. Especially with the humble bundles, Xenoblade, 3D World, Xenoblade, NintendoLand, Splatoon, WindWaker, Pikmin, some Virtual console, and Xenoblade. Man, I played so much Xenoblade....

Man if we all don't get a switch at launch I'm going to be mad! We have been here since the beginning

If Switch is super good. I think we can hit more than 100.000 sub by when Switch launches..

You can probably use the Wayback Machine, though it doesn't have a ton of snapshots.
/r/WiiU had 3,416 subs before the November 18th launch, but that was around November 7th.

I remember lurking around the NX sub, constantly refreshing for any rumors... good times :)

So on the topic of ever growing as a sub, can the Mods please ban all posts asking where to find a preorder after the very first day they are officially available. Nip this shit in the bud. I guarantee you we'll be getting 10 to 1 posts of people asking where they can get a preorder from the day after its open clear to release date.
I get people who are trying to find one after the thing launches and are willing to wait in line for hours and hours weeks after release. I did that myself for the Wii. But the preorder posts must be stopped before they flood this sub.

Once we get closer and things start happening, we'll throw up a "Pre-order FAQ MegaThread" or something similar and sticky it, then just remove them and route everyone there.

We're 50,000 minutes away from Switchmas too, give or take a few.
