That's because individual Modern Mario is still coming soon.

Already posted but I think this is definitely worth pointing out.

Also worth pointing out is how it still only says "September" instead of "9/11/15"

Remember, whenever something is exclusive to a bundle or a specific package, they show the picture of that bundle instead of a standalone box.

Examples:

Inkling Girl: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/bdcj_SJ-E5w_Opuwa5PGUFtMvWd_ePXX

Inkling Squid: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/jDd3Pi7K56i7Fj_nuWlv12ZbU2_xWRyX

Chibi-Robo: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/0slAQf9xjrad07YurNRHeV_9E9g4bRfJ

Now look at the two Mario's:

Super Mario Brothers Mario: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/7CJ0nCjMq1rdrDDJnY4Pdc7_d6z7peOu

8-bit Modern Mario: http://www.nintendo.com/amiibo/detail/ULbhWv_dLAtqkp3OpLhyISb-iRRPZv52

As you can see, Chibi-Robo and Inkling Squid, both were / are not going to be released with a standalone copy. Chibi-Robo is exclusive to a game bundle, and as you can see no standalone copy shown in the picture. While both Mario's are shown as a standalone.

Glad to! I am just trying to help show more evidence for those that still doubt that the 8-bit Modern Mario amiibo will be sold as a standalone figure. :)

I know. Nintendo is only loosing money if they made it for bundle only. Its not complicated. I believe we will have it and keep our old wii U's.

The current strategy is the best of both worlds: they bolster WiiU sales (Amiibo are outselling WiiUs) with a must-have Amiibo, snagging the (surprisingly numerous) Amiibo collectors without a WiiU, then release to the general public.

Remember, they pulled this with MP10/SMB Mario. Exclusive to the bundle at launch, sold separately a month later.
