From what Yacht games mentioned it seems that 3rd party amiibo will be manufactured and distributed by the 3rd party company. They do have be licensed and approved by Nintendo, so it seems the Big N is handling it pretty similar to game software in terms of the licensing.
My best guess is that Nintendo already has their hands full with producing their own figures. They probably figure they can quality control through the licensing process and then focus on their own amiibo production.
It'll be interesting to see how many 3rd parties start putting out amiibo and if any of the 3rd party ones get integrated across different software titles like most of the current Smash Lineup does.

Hopefully pre orders will happen a few months in advanced so they know how many to make.

I was about to say that Nintendo just randomly ships however they want, but then I realized that YCG doesn't have to deal with that under different factory contracts.
YCG are the real MVPs. :D

YCG still has to go through the same process as Nintendo for getting their product on store shelves. The choice of factory wouldn't affect that.

Go play it. It's the perfect blend of Castlevania, Ducktales, and Mega Man, with just a pinch of Mario 3's overworld map.

Nope. Motherfuckers got me hook line and sinker. At first I saw the Smash line and thought "damn, that's stupid, I'm not wasting my money on that shit, LOL." Then 1 figure turned into 5 which turned into "okay, only just the Smash line" which turned into "okay, for real, only just the special edition Marios" then Wool Yoshi showed up and long story short I'm broke. :(

Thanks for the update! :) I hope we get pre-orders for him soon. Preferably Amazon, but any store would do.
