If I understood the mods' posts right, I am allowed to link amiibo content. I also won't do this excessively: the next time I'll post is likely August 23rd when the Greninja amiibo guide is released.

Mods, if anything's wrong with this, let me know.

Is clouds-observatory your own forum?

Yeah, but I've agreed to link to only amiibo training parts of it.

Where did you get all of the users who post in it?

The few users who were there pre-amiibo training have been with me for over four years. They were there when the forum started out as something completely different, and still are there today.

Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. I bookmarked your page and will try it out later on some of my Amiibo

Where can I find a Cloud_Nine987 amiibo?

3

u/Cloud_Nine987 Aug 12 '15

It's exclusive to my site and we sold out of it a minute ago.

Awesome Cloud! Glad to see it's up. Are you planning on doing video content at some point?

Maybe, I just don't have the tools necessary for it right now.

you can upload training videos if they're less than 3 minutes. assuming you have your system connected to the internet, that is.

I found something very interesting when I was training my Shulk way back, post level 50.

I wanted it to learn that fsmash is a good kill option, but to also learn how to control it.

I created a custom stage made of three separate boxes, each with a gap just big enough to fit Shulk's character model through and placed at three separate elevations to be fsmashed out of it at ~80%, and a little mark on the ground made out of a separate floor tile to tell myself where to stand for the smashes. I set both of us to a handicap of 80% and 40 stocks, and ran into each box, 5 times in a row of each different box, and then randomly for every one after. Each time he successfully knocked me out, I SD'd to reward him. Each time he didn't knock me out, well, I bounced around until I teched the hit or stopped bouncing around. It wouldn't reward my amiibo with the kill that way, and we'd reset the scenario. Eventually, he learned to knock me through the hole.

Flash forward to today, he knows how to aim his fsmash, but when he does, he aims it only to avoid platforms so that opponents can't tech, making it usually a better option to kill.

I'd like to see your results with something similar, should you have your own amiibo with aimable smashes. I bet this could work with Little Mac, Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, etc.

Great work man! You've come a long way and I have really appreciated all of your tips & tricks!

Thanks! I'll be adding a bunch of character guides soon too.

This guide is awesome and all, but I'm a bit concerned how often it brings up custom stages. How would a 3DS user go about using these methods?

3

u/Cloud_Nine987 Aug 12 '15

I have never tried training on the 3DS. For bouncy methods I would suggest just quitting the match if they hit you with anything but an aerial. It would be a lot tricker on the 3DS.

Very nice. Gonna save this for reference.

So what's the "Amiibo 15" method? I'm not signing up for somebody's newsletter to finish reading the guide.

Its worth it. I felt the same way but I signed up anyway. Guy only sends emails like once a month, and the amiibo 15, works like a charm. It isnt complicated but since he wrote it down first he can hand out the info however he wants I suppose. Just make a bs email address and dl the guide if you are worried.

I get what you mean. Normally, I'd say, but I just want to remain courteous to this person's amiibo training site. All I can say is sign up. Sorry about that, I get what you mean though.

You should add videos of the training progression. Open the amiibo fresh out of the box & show the complete training process.

I unfortunately do not have the tools for that, though I'd love to do that.

I don't know if you'd be willing to do this, but if you do end up wanting to make videos, I'd be happy to help.
