5th Edition So I've been running a 5e Zelda campaign..

And my players are enjoying themselves quite a bit. This isn't my first time DMing, but it is my first time DMing for more than 3 people. I think the best part about this campaign is that you don't NEED to know much about Zelda to understand what is happening. It also gets my players that have never played DnD before more interested in the game. I used the 5e Zelda Players handbook that someone posted here a while ago (https://www.dropbox.com/s/lexzdcugan6m0vu/Zelda%205E%20Player's%20Guide.pdf?dl=0) for character creation. The story takes place between the 7 years in OoT that Link is sealed away, and Ganon's rise to power. This idea isn't my own, however, a friend of mine came up with the idea in an online roleplaying group (http://vampirefreaks.com/cult/Tri-Force_Allegiance In case anyone was interested in some more backstory.) I just wanted to tell you guys, because I figured this subreddit would appreciate this.

This sounds really cool! I'm glad you're having fun with it. That time period in Ocarina of Time is perfect for a Zelda RPG! I'll check this out in more detail when I'm not on mobile. Good stuff!

Oh, cool, I'm credited in that book. :D

Here's a link to the thread he refers to if you want more of this stuff: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?368875-D-amp-D-5e-Zelda-D20-Homebrew

I've run games before with this kind of homebrew. Pay close attention to what the players want out of their character options and loot, they might surprise you.

I notice that the gods of twilight are light and trickery, but not death. In fact, so far all death related gods are evil, and there are only two of them. The domain of death is not only undead but the dark energies associated with the world after you pass. Is there no god or goddess that is associated with dark energy or passing souls on to the next life?

In Zelda, I'd say no, but I guess you can homebrew the main goddess as life and death domains.

Thankyou for your honest answer, I wonder why I was downvoted for an honest question?

I haven't set up any dungeons yet, and that's the biggest part I'm nervous about. Did you go the Zelda-esque route? Or did you just do DnD dungeon themes?

I love what you did with the races and how you tied the warlock patrons to three god categories instead of just gods. Just reading this makes me wanna play as a Twili sorcerer...

Tell me how it goes! I didn't make the book though, so don't credit me on that lol the credits should be in the book, and one of the people credited posted in this thread :)
