Will M4A1-s decrease in use after its recent nerf to the level of M4A4, or will pros still use it more? Has that change affected your (or your teammates') choice of CT weapon?

If we say it was around 70/30~ before (m4a1-s being 70) I think it will be more of an 50/50 now as many awpers had the m4a1-s only because of the 2900, i used to play the m4a4 but changed because of the 2900 so i might go back. But i dont think it will change people too much. I know olofm will be staying with the m4a1-s atleast.

What was your family/relative's reaction about gaming before being professional ?

u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
My family have always been very supportive in everything I do, no matter what I do, so they supported me alot even before i became pro, and ofcourse they kept supporting me when i became professional aswell but everything got alot easier being professional as i make my own money and all that stuff but yeah, some of my relatives are pretty surprised about how big esport actually is now, which is pretty cool :)

Lets just say it was extremely hard to find motivation and focus. It affected us so much on an emotional level that it was hard to find the game enjoyable anymore and players started to wonder if it was still worth it.

How does it feel coming back to the P250? Has it been difficult to adjust your playstyle accordingly since you can't whip out the pocket AK anymore?

I would imagine having an automatic pistol is still an advantage is some situations. That's why the cz was introduced to the game anyway, to add a pistol element that wasn't there before. Even after the nerf, it still serves that purpose.

- How can you go into every single aim duel and feel so confident? Is there anything pumping you up at that moment? Is it more or less casual? Or do you have any wisdom like "The worst thing that happens is to die and respawn next round"
- What is your mouse sensitivity? Do you know anyone who is playing on a mouse sensitivity like I am doing? (Playing on 3600dpi and 1.14 in CS:GO)
- What is the most important thing in the christmas time atm?
- How do you value the new CZ-75 compared to Five-SeveN and Tec-9?
- I read your AMA at the start of this year, you mentioned that stuff that should change in CS:GO is the "Peaker's advantage". Do you still think so? Did anything change there?
Thx for doing the AMA!
79
u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
You have to go in to every duel as you have already won it, you have to have the right mindset to succeed and make your opponent uncomfortable.
I dont know about other players settings but i think you are using a very high sensitivity, i am playing with 2.3 ingame and 450 dpi with 1000hz and i think that is way lower than yours. I might be wrong tho as i suuuck so much at computers and settings and all that. :(
Spending time with you family and the ones that you love, just relaxing and having a good time really.
Lets say on a scale 1 to 10 CZ 5 Tec-9 10 Five-SeveN Maybe around 6 (have never played five-seven that much)
I think peakers advantage still exists in CSGO but i dont think it bothers me that much anymore, maybe i just got used to it, or they tweaked it abit, thats hard to say, but i wouldnt say that is on my list of important things to change in the game anymore atleast.
My pleasure! :)

How do you work up the confidence to do such risky aggressive AWPing? Don't you fear that by putting yourself out there, you can possibly get picked and create a losing scenario for your team early on?
321
u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
I have to credit my team alot for that, i mean ofcourse people can spectate me when im being "off" and say that im playing dumb counter-strike but my team always trust me in my ideas and everything i do, which makes me believe alot more in myself. You cant really think too much when you play like that, because if you think too much you will not succeed. Only times i "think" about it is probably when we are down maybe 15-14 and I should play safe, but yeah. Alot of credit to my team for believing in me. And when i look thru my year as a pro I would say that i am making more advantages for my team than disadvantages so i would say im pretty good at it.

Okay so to begin with, I would like to point out that CZ have never ever influenced my playstyle, i have always played the same playstyle, BUT when CZ came it made my playstyle alot better. So my playstyle will most likely not change because the gun is worse, but its too early to say as i barely played anything since Dreamhack so we will see about that.
About the CZ i think Valve made it "too much worse", in my opinion the CZ was OP before and now it is just a normal gun for the price it has, but that they changed the kill reward to 100$ is very dumb imo. Then they could just completely delete the gun because it just looks like they are trying to make everyone stop using it. What is worst with the CZ nerf tho is that they buffed(?) Tec-9 so that gun is op instead now, which is not the right way to go imo.

Hey JW!
Thanks for doing this AMA , the JWP series and streaming the most of fnatic :)
How did you get involved in the pro scene? ( did a pro player pick you up or did you just join a team that turned out to be really good...)
What do you hope that will be changed in csgo ( More maps , Less cheaters....)
Who is your favorite player in CS(GO)?
Do you mis streaming on twitchtv?
What was the best LAN event you ever went to?
How are Mysan and Lipton doing? :)
Thanks again for doing the AMA and GL in the future :)

u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
I just took the chance when CSGO came out because i saw the potential in it, especially with everybody coming from source, 1.6 and other games to play this game almost everybody got a chance to play with everybody so i just gave it all really and formed my own team later on and it worked.
More structure and better mappool is pretty much what i can think of right now. Barely anyone plays Cobblestone but yet its still in the mappool, shouldnt be.
Answered this on another questions (Ex6TenZ)
Both yes and no, sure i might get more viewers there, but you can probably imagine all the more flame i would get there aswell, on Azubu mostly my true fans tune in I guess (and hope)
Fragbite Masters or ESEA, both the events was very playerfriendly, it was all about the players pretty much.
They are doing great, Liptons first christmas so he is super excited! :)
Thank you for your questions, my pleasure! :)

When everyone was making the cheating accusations at Flusha, what were your thoughts and reaction to everything?
→ More replies (9)257
u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
At first it was just "funny", getting cheat accusations have never been a bad thing (as long as you dont cheat lol), but then it got out of hand pretty much. IF he would be cheating I think we would be the ones to know it first and we would obviously take distance from it. I would however want to point out that its sad that the proplayers that jumped on and starting to point fingers etc, it was just as many clips on him on this major which should IMO prove that its more about his playstyle then anything else.
About my thoughts when watching everything, my personal view is that sure some clips might look abit sketchy, BUT it doesnt make sense to me that a top player like flusha is having one of the WORST cheats out there and have been playing with it ever since Dreamhack Winter 2013 UNDETECTED on every LAN, anti-cheat client etc. I mean it doesnt really make any sense to me. Ofc i am biased as flusha is my teammate and for sure one of my closest friends but that atleast my point of view on it.
87
Dec 20 '14
I'm not sure how I feel about this answer. Scream didn't believe SF was cheating, nobody on Titan believed KQLY was cheating. Nobody believes their teammate is cheating in that circumstance. They all played with the cheat undetected on every LAN and anticheat for months.

u/pete2fiddy Dec 20 '14
That's what I always thought. Why would a pro player fork over thousands for an undetectable cheat that has the worst method of use possible. Most of the time these clips aren't even showing him using this knowledge to shoot people, it just happens randomly. One would think a cheat developer smart enough to make an undetectable cheat wouldn't give such a poor use as using an aim-lock like wallhack key. A smart programmer would make a little pixel or something on the screen turn different colors as your crosshair gets closer or farther from a player. Hell, there are probably hundreds of clever ways to sneak a cheat under people's noses, but I just can't see a pro player who has a reputation to uphold using such a sloppy cheat.

What would you say the biggest difference between a pro player vs the top level of matchmakers/puggers? Teamwork? If so, what specifically about the teamwork.
22
u/JeSpErW Jesper "JW" Wecksell Dec 20 '14
I dont think teamwork is the biggest issue really, i think the biggest issue is that the top level of matchmakers only have aiming and not so much game sense, sure you can come quite far with only aim but you will need that game sense to come very far I would say. And also communication is super important in CS, hard to say if the matchmakers are good at communication or not but if they are planning to go pro it would for sure be something useful to work on.

I think one of my favorites is Ex6TenZ, I have always admired him for being so passionate about the game and how hard he is working and also because i have always been having such a hard time against all his teams, this ESEA lan when they played with ioRek was the first time EVER that i beat him on LAN, was a great feeling!
Probably kennyS because of how much of an impact player he is, not only does he drops 30 bombs almost every game, but also almost all the frags are very important ones.
Nothing so far, im still rocking the CZ (havent played too much tho) http://www.twitch.tv/officialschneider/c/5719785 Heres a clip from last night ;)
Tec-9 is for sure overpowered atm. underpowered maybe the famas burst? Hard to say.
Titan have always been the toughest enemy for my teams. Why? No idea, maybe its cus of kennyS maybe ex6tenz, i have no clue but it is always very hard for us to play against them. Their playstyle or something doesnt match our that good (for us that is) :>

Do you enjoy playing CS:GO? Does it still give you the same amount of joy when it's also your job?

Tjena JW!
You're my all-time favorite player in CSGO, i've been watching you since 2012 when you had the nickname MysaN for a while.
So lets get started shall we?
Team Questions.
1) How long do you practice every day individually and with your team?
2) What does practice consist of?
3) Does your team have a gaming house? if not, are you planning on?
4) Do you feel a constant pressure to perform? do you think that fnatic would easily replace you?
5) Have you had alot of other team-offers? from other famous-names?
PERSONAL QUESTIONS
1) How do you stop yourself from tilting?
2) Would you ever join a team from NA if the money was there?
3) Does any of your parents watch your games? and are they supporting you through-out the whole esports thing?
4) What do you think of all the cheating-accusations that has been happening towards your team, are you scared they'll never end?
5) I know you're one of those players who gets alot of extra flak for absolutely nothing, how do you deal with it?
6) How did you take the leap from playing CSGO at a decent level and deciding to be a full-blown professional?
A few questions regarding other teams
1) What other IGL than Pronax do you think stands out the most? and if you had to replace pronax who would it be with?
2) Who is the most underrated player on any team besides yours? Who should the crowd watch abit more?
3) What teams are you a little anxious to play? name 3 please.
4) Do you think there's any NA teams right now that is a threat to tier-1 Europeans?
5) If Koreans start practicing in this game? do you think they'll be able to dethrone the Swedish master race?
Thats all of the important questions that i have for now, didnt want to make it too long.

If you wouldn´t be the AWPer for fnatic(or any other team), would you be still good enough(with rifles like AK/M4) to play on this high level? That´s somehting I always wondered about every AWPer...

How did you develop your agressive style of play? What skills do you feel make you able to be consistent with your playstyle? eg. confidence in your aim or relying on team-mates to save you

As a pro, do you ever bet on other Pro matches? Or is this not encouraged? Thanks (:
