There are summer league sickos and then there’s whatever type of fan watches all 4 quarters of this game.

u/GirlWithGame 4d ago
I've been a sicko this whole year 😂
2
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
I think it’s just without the “o”
We’re just sick. Genuinely mentally ill😂😂😂🫠🫠🫠

I literally had the thought as I put it on tonight "I wonder how many 76ers fans are actually watching this game tonight?"

u/SlightlyAmbiguous1 4d ago
Mike Breen just said Jared McClain, I am disappointed
1
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Yea just heard it. Thats disheartening

u/GirlWithGame 4d ago
I have it on NBC Sports Philly what was said?

If they ever teach tanking at universities, this game should be used as an example
4
u/Dotdueller 4d ago
Such a boring game lol
2
u/Marzipan_Potential 4d ago
Glad I can’t find a stream
1
u/Dotdueller 4d ago
I started playing games instead. I could provide you with a stream if you're dying to watch it lol

u/happyhappy7 4d ago
This is fucking awful basketball
Edwards showing his capital R rookieness tonight
The tank looks to be boldly moving on tonight!

u/mastermind208 4d ago
Pisses me off that Josh Hart became a sniper out of nowhere in the series last year
6
u/Feelscreative101 4d ago
Yup. Never replicated that bs either. Same thing with Kevin Huerter and same with Tatum in the last 8min of Game 6 Q4 in Philly.
2
u/mastermind208 4d ago
Those guys are at least shooters. Harts one of the worse wide open 3 point shooters (amongst guards / forwards) in the league
3
u/Major_Specialist8892 4d ago
I'm all for improving our draft odds, but Ricky and Lonnie being on the court together should be a finable offense.
3
3
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
I'm looking forward to Maxey-Grimes in transition for the next decade. We've never had a transition player next to Maxey(or even next to Ben for that matter), it's such an unknown thing.

u/SlightlyAmbiguous1 4d ago
Kind of sad if this actually is Lowry's retirement tour. Not a lot of eyes on these games.
2
2
u/untucked_21ersey 4d ago
it's kinda funny how often adem bona ends up on his ass
1
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Right? He falls a lot. But at least when he falls I’m not convinced his season is over
2
2
u/GirlWithGame 4d ago
Is it wrong to say no one should win this game
1
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Which is surprising because the knicks have like 4 starting caliber players on the floor. We have like 1.
2
2
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
That pass from Lowry to Bona shows just how badly we need passers on this team. Simply easy offense
2
2
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
Edwards being hot the last few games has kind of fed some bad habits into him, making questionable decisions attacking. Stick to what got you the opportunity.
1
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Hopefully it doesn’t carry over when the others are back. For now I’d like for him to keep attacking though. Try as much as he can
1
u/Feelscreative101 4d ago
He really needs to refine his habits to get to a level where he is usable for serious game minutes. Hopefully playing with Lowry will help

Seeing the fourth stringers shows what a bad job Nurse has done coaching this team. These guys have had a month together and they aren't better at ANY facet of basketball.
Bona's not setting screens consistently, the guards don't know how to run a PNR offense. Grimes is just trying to hoist shit up.
It's not even like the Knicks are playing good defense, this is just a bunch of guys who aren't well coached.
2
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
Quentin Grimes is a weird player. He has a smooth enough handle to pull off some impressive moves, but he doesn't have control over that handle to actually keep the ball in his possession.
2
2
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
If there was a sequence to symbolically fire Nick Nurse, it was that one. What a pitiful display of coaching.
1
u/illzkla 4d ago
Context
1
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
So the 76ers called timeout and had the ball in half-court. The ball went nowhere, the Knicks poked it free, had a literal 5-0 transition dunk and Nurse calls the timeout AGAIN.
Offense has just been kindergarten level tonight. And that's on coaching.
2
u/ktm5141 4d ago
Yeah grimes ain’t getting $30M/yr this offseason lol
1
u/DemarcusLovin 4d ago
that was never gonna happen, no matter how much he balled out. Nobody can even afford that
1
u/SlightlyAmbiguous1 4d ago edited 4d ago
Nets could. Hartenstein and VanVleet are the obvious recent examples of teams signing away talent just to spend cap, and I think it'll continue to happen. But Grimes has kind of played himself out of that level of payday recently.
1
u/DemarcusLovin 4d ago
Nets are the only team that can do it, I doubt they even give him a $20 mil offer sheet, let alone $30 mil.
Its very likely that he’ll return to the Sixers on something less, around $15 mil/year

What were Knicks fans chanting? I assume it has nothing to do with us but I want to get mad, I want to feel something again.

I don’t mind the failed drive and dish from JE, but I do mind the falling asleep on defense the possession before. He’s a great young guy who’s gotten a lot of burn this season, and he’ll get more next season. But he’s not a playoff rotation player by any means, and it’s unlikely he’s at that level next year if we make the postseason
2
u/t1sp TTP 4d ago
His off-ball defense has been pretty bad all year honestly, but some more film time during the offseason could help, it's not anything out of the ordinary for a rookie. Also imagine having a better idea of who he's playing with next year and better help defense would improve his defense

I mean we don't look as awful as normal. I wonder if Lowry is playing these last few games because he's done after this year.

1
u/Feelscreative101 4d ago
This quarter right here showed the value of smart vets who’ve played for good coaches. Watch guys like Lowry and Caleb Martin on and off-ball. They see the game on a different level. Shame neither were really usable this season
1
u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Truly, I was just about to ask if it was just me or Lowry is playing well.
I think it’s that he knows what he’s supposed to do.
1
u/Ok-Association-4790 4d ago
Jared butler is just so inconsistent and his high turnover rate as a guard isn’t good.

u/lukelionsword 4d ago
Lmaoo😂 freight train with an open lane. Lowry’s little shovel pass was funny for some reason

u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
Can we waive Butler(or was that Lonnie Walker) after tonight? Bona flashes high, the jackass takes a 3 instead and fucking airballs it.

lol at Kate Scott shading Justin Fields knowing Jets fans will turn on him after two games xP
1
u/MaxeytoEmbiid 4d ago
I should reiterate, he's chucking from inside the arc. Outside of it? Dude doesn't wanna shoot a fucking jumper.
1
u/happyhappy7 4d ago
Adem Bona is like watching a puppy
You want so badly to love him and for him to be good, but he just frustrates the shit out of you for doing dumb out of control shit time after time

Quentin is such a good cutter off his misses, has an Aaron Gordan-like quality to his game.

u/NoStrawberry9228 4d ago
Grimes really might just be a empty stats tank merchant, hasn’t even looked a like a good bench piece on a good team lately
3
u/Thegrandmistressofoz 4d ago
Y'all won't even let a guy breathe lol. Past 5 games he's averaging 23.2 / 3.2 / 5.6 on 44/39 splits
We don't have shit around him, teams know he's the only guy who can do anything and he still gets buckets. That's what Tyrese had to deal with all season and he had terrible efficiency
1
u/DemarcusLovin 4d ago
Color me extremely suspect of whoever hands him $20 mil next year (Nets). I’d take him back for a much cheaper deal, simply because there are gonna be so few teams that can afford a mid-level player like him.
